Sorry for my long silence ... my "day" job has been keeping me pretty drained emotionally as well as physically, but things are starting to mellow out.

You can find my latest album, GOTTA at cdBaby and PeaceWork Music Net

This album is a preview of the soon-to-be-released trilogy 13cubed.  The trilogy will be 3 cds, 13 tracks each.  It will be released in a dvd-style case with a full color booklet that has info and stories about the music and its contributors.

I'm hoping for a November release, but I won't do the final mixes until all the artists that want to contribute have a chance to do so, which could mean a much later release date.

In the meantime, I'm working on another solo album, "Did That Answer Your Question" which should be finished in time for xmas, solstice, channuka, whatever.

I'm also thinking of changing the "band" name ... there are quite a few Warren Peace's out there and part of me feels even with the "y" it's still not unique enough ... what do you think?

GOTTA has been released as a preview album for the Warryn Peace Trilogy.  When the trilogy releases in (hopefully) November, this edition will disappear forever, so if you want it, get it soon!

The GOTTA album in the trilogy will have the same songs, but they will be remixed as musicians add their contributions, so in that sense, it will be a totally different album.

The trilogy is closer than ever to becoming what I envisioned.  Five amazing artists have commited so far and I'm confident at least twice that many will contribute by the time the final mix is ready.

GOTTA is now officially a preview album.  As it is now is NOT the final first album of the trilogy and this version will only be available until the trilogy is released, which will make it a collector's edition.

I plan to release the trilogy sometime late this year, but it could take longer.

I want to thank EvO:Rians:

Jimmy Caterine of CATERINE and Sacred Rites
Lous Lamp
Chris Chamblee
Charlie Harrellsonof TL2 and Southern Logic
Meagan Kolb of Second Story Band

These five artists have already guaranteed Warryn Peace Trilogy will be an amazing collection and they have my eternal gratitude.

It took four months, but the Jazza Diction store is up and running.  I applied for the Warryn Peace store two weeks after applying for Jazza Diction, so I'm hoping it will be ready in a couple weeks or sooner.

Once the Warryn Peace store is ready, it will replace the Jazza Diction store on this profile, but will still be available on the Jazza Diction profile.

I have an update for the Warryn Peace Trilogy, but I'll make a seperate post for that, hopefully tomorrow.

My original and continuing vision for Warryn Peace is a global band comprised of contributions from musicians around the world.  This vision got a boost when EvO:R members Jimmy Caterine and Roberto Luz contributed to Buddha's Belly ReM:X and I'm hoping other musicians would be interested in this as well.

The amazing artists at EvO:R have an open invitation to contribute and I'd like to extend that invitation to MySpace artists as well.

You'll notice on the profile, any contribution made will be credited and a link to their website or music buypage will be included.  Contributing artists will also receive a share of any royalties earned from songs they contribute to using a simple mathmetical formula ... album sale profit divided by number of tracks gives the base figure per song and then the contributors to a given song split that base figure evenly, regardless of what the contribution was.  If an artist contributes thirty seconds of shaker percussion, that artist will get the same profit from the song as the artist who contributed three minutes of vocals or five minutes of guitar.

I'm also looking for musicians in Rochester, NY who would be interested in helping me resurrect Jazza Diciton.  You can learn about the old Jazza Diction by visiting our MySpace profile.

I also invite you all to find out more about me by visiting my personal MySpace profile.

Okay, there were 16 views and if folks are going to read this blog, I should give 'em something to read, no?

As I said in the first post, the first album in the trilogy will be released as soon as the artwork is finished, which means the album is finished except for the artwork.  Now that we're clear on the subject, here's a tease ...

The title of the album is GOTTA and will have 13 tracks.  Four of the songs actually have lyrics of sorts, but only one has anything resembling poetry and that song is track #8, "like, TOTALLY" ... here they are:

Giggling middle-aged teens, souls encased in platinum shell
Painted so heavily there's not a trace of exposed flesh
Smelling like a field of flowers in the fourth layer of hell
Plastic tits, plastic smiles, mouths filled with porcelain mesh

Posturing middle-aged teens, empty minds and cast-iron pecs
Testicles shriveled and mind forever altered by steroid abuse
Physical perfection, emotional wastelends, societal wrecks
Don't waste time trying to change them, it's just no use

When you've got it all the only thing left to acquire
The only mark of success that is left to achieve
The only way to prove you're faster, stronger, higher
Is make everyone around you look at you and believe

Like, totally dude

The album is listed at PeaceWork Music Net, but if you send me a message before ordering, I'll tell you how you can get free s&h, which will save you a buck seventy five.

Okay, so "Warren Peace" isn't all that original ... I still like the name 'cuz it's a great pun, so from this day forward, the band is Warryn Peace ... just to satisfy trademark requirements and stop all the 'lamo' remarks. hehe

The reason for the name is when I was with Jazza Diction, one of the band members introduced me as Warren Peace ('cuz he liked the pun) at a gig one night and we decided it would be my stage name from then on.

When the band split up, I was basically without a way to express myself musically for a few years and jonesing really, really bad.

I hooked up with a dj here in Rochester and I became fascinated with the way he worked songs in and out of each other, using loops and beats to fill in between the fades.  It wasn't long before I started playing around with the idea myself and found I could create whole songs with loops and beats.  I bought the necessary equipment and software and once again found myself with a way to express myself musically.

There was no thought process involved with the "band" name ... I was Warren Peace of Jazza Diction, so without Jazza Diction, it only made sense that I would be just Warren Peace.

Eventually I'll manage to resurrect the band, but I think there will always be a Warren Peace ... or rather Warryn Peace.

I have a trilogy started and will officially release the first album in the series as soon as Cyd finishes with the artwork.  You can preorder it at PeaceWork Music Net.  Two of the tracks are available on my profile, one can be downloaded.

Okay, that's enough for one post.
