Italo Disco wieder einmal. Unsere ehemaligen Gäste Crookers und Bloody Beetroots mögen längst in ungeahnten (Charts-) Höhen verkehren - wir holen schon mal ihre legitimen Nachfolger. Gigi Barocco beispielsweise. Der hat trotz gleichen Vornamens nix mit dem Typen des Seicht-Hits "L'Amour Toujours" zu tun, sondern ist eines der Produzenten-Zukunftsversprechen unseres südlichen Nachbarns. Das lässt sich nicht nur daran ablesen, dass er mit seinem derzeit heftig gespielten Remix von "I'm In The House" sogar einen Track von Steve Aoki tanzbar gemacht hat, sondern auch anhand seiner Releases für renommierte Labels wie Cheaper Thrills oder Crux. Ach ja, und seine kongeniale Verwurstung des 90s-Trash-Dance-Hadern "Think About The Way" soll hier auch nicht unerwähnt bleiben. Kurzum: Wir freuen uns, Herrn Barocco erstmals in Österreich präsentieren zu dürfen - und verweisen auch gerne noch auf das tolle Support-Programm, das Joyce Muniz und The Shit Is Coming Home absolvieren werden.

"I Am What Porno Should Be" (Titel einer Hot Pink Delorean-EP, 2009)

"I did so many Hot Pink DeLoreans that my heart was beating 88 mph." Das steht im Urban Dictionary, wenn man nach jener Bedeutung eines Hot Pink Delorean sucht, die über ein bunt lackiertes "Zurück in die Zukunft"-Auto hinausgeht. Es kann ja jeder selber nachsehen, welch lustige Sachen damit gemeint sind. Ob unsere November-Stargäste selbigen Namens auch für derlei zu haben sind, überlassen wir ganz der Fantasie des Lesers. Ganz sicher stehen die drei Bostoner, die früher auch das Drum n' Bass-Trio Terravita bildeten, aber für so epischen wie epochalen Prog-Electro-Rave, der das Herzerl garantiert noch schneller schlagen lässt als besagte Praktiken. Das haben mittlerweile selbst Pop-Sternchen wie Beyoncé (!) und Britney S. (!!) erkannt, die sich für ihre Hits schon gern auch einmal eine remixtechnische HPD-Politur bestellen. Aber das ist noch nicht alles für diesmal: Ebenfalls mit von der Party sind unsere französischen Freunde von Underhall. Die kommen ganz untypisch nicht aus der Szene-Hochburg Paris, sondern aus der Süd-Metropole Marseille. Von einem Standort-Manko kann hier aber keine Rede sein: Ihre erste EP "Digithall" (mit Remixen von Bestrack, Stereoheroes und, ähm, Pola-Riot) changiert äußerst clever zwischen neuem French-Synth-Pop und bewährtem Knarz-Electro. Be prepared ...

Bass, Bass, wir brauchen Bass. Das war nicht nur eines der letzten erfreulicheren Statements deutscher HipHop-Provenienz, sondern dient der aktuellen Ausgabe unserer kleinen Partyreihe ebenfalls als Leitmotiv. Zu dessen Erfüllung haben wir uns einen Abgesandten aus der derzeitigen Hauptstadt gepflegten Bassbetriebs geholt: London. Christian Sibthorpe heißt der junge Herr, der dem einen oder anderen eventuell als Hälfte des Frontalbespaßungskommandos Partyshank bekannt ist und dessen Produzenten-Nom de guerre eigentlich schon Bände spricht über sein bevorzugtes Klangtool: A1 Bassline. Im Laufe des vergangenen Jahres hat sich Sibthorpe mit Hilfe von Remixen für u. a. Little Boots, Ladyhawke oder Buraka Som Sistema laut "NME" als eine der großen Zukunftshoffnungen britischer Clubmusik etabliert - "a mash up of bass line house with grime, post new rave and ‘ardcore nostalgia and hyperactive toyshop electro." Diesen Herbst wird A1 Bassline auf Fatboy Slims Label Southern Fried debütieren - und zuvor, am 28. August, auch erstmalig in Wien aufspielen. Weil, wie gesagt: Wir brauchen Bass.
