Howdy friends! We hope this message finds you warm and well! Fall weather has surely reared it's head here in the boro, but not to fear, the Boro Boogie Pickers don't scare easy! We still have a few "outside" events before we shack up in the bars for the chilly winter months.

First and foremost, we would like to thank all of you for coming out and showing your support. You don't know what it means to us to see your smiling faces from the stage. Especially, the "little pickers", who have become an overnight sensation within the Boogie Picker family! Whether they're singing "Grandkids", yelling "corn" or dancing a jig, they bring that special down home touch to every event.

Summer 2008 has been a blast! We've had the honor of playing at several local benefits, including the Waynesboro Historical Society, Beaver Fest and the Boogie Picker Picknic for CdLS. We also had the pleasure of playing with Seldom Scene, Jim Lauderdale, Larry Keel, and Tony Rice at the Harvest Time Music Festival in Cumberland, MD, and with New Riders, Donna Jean and Melvin Seals at A Bear's Picnic in Laurelton, PA. We sold dozens of cds and made many new friends and fans along the way.

Although playing on the "big stage" has been memorable and exciting, nothing comes close to playing for your hometown amongst friends who are near and dear. So, don't miss us this weekend at the Waynesboro Harvest Festival. You will find us near the Post Office on Main Street, Saturday, October 4th from 11-1. Come on out and shake a leg with the locals! If after two hours, you find your BBP appetite only aroused, you can jump in the car and head down 70 to hear us play from 6-9 in Frederick at the "In the Streets" Music Festival. We will be setting up in front of Emporium Antiques located at 112 E. Patrick Street.
We would love to see you there!

"All aboard!" Yes, the rumors are true! The 2009 Boogie Bus is booked and tickets are on sale! On January 31st, the Boogie Bus will be making birth from the Waynesboro Kmart parking lot at 7pm and heading up the road to the ABC in Harrisburg, PA for a night of music and madness! If you were along for the ride last year, you can understand our excitement. This is a trip you don't want to miss! Tickets can be purchased from band members or by calling (717)387-1298.
Get 'em while they last!

We are also anticipating the release of our latest cd entitled "Get the Truck". We have been recording our 22 track album between gigs and vacations and are very close to a finished product. This album is so good, that we considered calling it, the "Greatest Hits"! (Just kidding!) But seriously, we are very anxious to share our work! We are planning a release party before the New Year and will announce the date and time in the near future.
Keep your eyes and ears open!

The Unique Bar and Grille in Blue Ridge Summit, PA is hosting it's annual Halloween Party on Friday, October 31st.
Entertainment provided by…us! Costumes will be in full force! Start planning your "get up" now, the Summit locals take their costume contests very seriously!

If you haven't heard of the Boogie Board, now you have! The Boogie Board is our BBP internet forum where you can review shows, find out about upcoming hoedowns, check out or post other local shows/events, link to our live recordings, chat about nonsense and discuss the ways of the world.
Check it out and sign up today at www. theboroboogiepickers. com/boogieboard.
It's about time you get yourself better acquainted with the Boogie Picker family! We look forward to chatting with you!

Cheers to a wonderful Summer! The festival scene has been wonderful and we're grateful for all the exposure and new fans we picked up. The BBP family is growing and becoming more supportive at every show. After playing Granny's Bus Campout, Some Kina Jam and Bears Picnic, the BBP have a few more festivals left in 08. Harvest Time w/ Larry Keel and Seldom Scene and headlining our first "South Mountain Bluegrass Festival." Also this summer the BBP have gained alot of newspaper press and radio adds which has helped fuel the Boogie Train. We have also donated alot of shows to charity and have been apart of some nice benefits helping people and organizations in our area that need it.

We are currently in the studio working on the follow up album soon to be released sometime this year. Plan on at least 20-25 new original tunes including some originals by "Kate Avey" and some special guests. Thanks to all that read this and may we all get together for another Hoedown.

Peace from the BBP

Well the new year has brought many new venues, festivals, fans and friends to the BBP family. The Pickers just played the Historical Meck in Shepherdstown WV to a packed room, Then it was off to Lancaster PA for yet another incredible packed night. Now they are off to The orchards in Chambersburg PA to do a split bill w/ Hexbelt and the Saturday to Gettysburg at the Gary Owen Irish Pub. The band is producing new original tunes for almost every show. We look forward to hearing the follow up album to Barn and Raised.

The months of speculation and anticipation had its day in the light. Tonight was indeed fantastic ! I personally would like to thank all the fans that made it such a great evening. The evening started with someone losing their supper, and what we thought to be a detour of our get away plan. Waynesboro's finest disassembled and pulled out just in time for us to make our trek to Harrisburg. The ride to the show was interesting, first time ever I can remember going to a show w/ a restroom on board. We arrived at the ABC to be greeted by other friends that made the journey. The atmosphere was great and it was about that time. Starting the musical evening off was Dan from Hexbelt, who rocked the house and I think gained a few new fans. Many people asked who this musical maestro was, and most others already knew of his great talents. Our ears were blessed with wonderful music.

Next up were the BBP themselves. As they took the stage the crowd waited for the perfect time to get up and start grooving, and with an opening song "How Mountain Girls Can Love" why not then.  The jams were great and the sound, well it was incredible ! You filled the air with sweet rythyms and tunes we all know and love ! It wasn't long till our good friend Banjo Paul made his way up and blew on his harmonica a bit. Then Dan O made his way up to lend us his talents one more time, in a great "Monkey and the Engineer."  The night went on and  the dance floor filled up ! I was for sure my sister was going to fall, but she made it. The crowd demanded one more song and made the house start shaking. Well the BBP provided that one last tune and it was a great one as well.

This was a night of many First's, a night that will be remembered for a long time (I know I will cherish these memories !)

THANK YOU ALL !!!!!!
