Hey myspacers!

Just a little update to tell you guys that we're one of the nominees for Junk Magazine's JUNKSOUNDS 2009 awards under the category for "Best Promising Act." Among other more deserving artistes in this category are our very own vocalist's solo act For This Cycle and Audiocean from our country. There are a couple other awesome Malaysian and Indonesian bands nominated as well, and the best part is that YOU GUYS get to pick the winner.

Honestly, I'm still pretty surprised that we even got nominated, but if you think we deserve this, then go ahead and vote for us right here:
http://sites.junkonline.net/junksounds/category08.php

Voting closes on the 30th of November 2009. You don't need to login or have a special account to vote, all you need to do is click on the "VOTE" button next to our band name and you'd have voted for us. It's that simple.

Cheers guys,
Hope yall vote for us!

"part two of yesterday's post"

Hi guys, We've just uploaded a sampler of one of our newer songs, The Lost Boy here on myspace, which will be one of the tracks for our upcoming E.P. which we're planning to release in March next year.

Our label Big Ear Music is introducing bonus content on all our releases, and our dear friends and labelmates For Better Endings have ever so kindly given us some extra megabytes on their NEW E.P. to slap the Full Version of The Lost Boy in their bonus section!!!!!

Their new shit is insane and absolutely mind blowing. If you wanna hear The Lost Boy as a complete song, do get the new For Better Endings E.P. at Baybeats this year. They're playing on Sunday, the last day, but the E.P. will be on sale throughout the entire festival.

We're really grateful to be given such an opportunity to cross promote this way. I really hope you guys get FBE's new EP, I had the priviledge of listening to their new stuff at the studio and it's really, really, amazing. We're honoured to have our music on their EP, even if it's just bonus content! I hope more and more bands help each other out this way, I think it's great for everyone. Especially you guys, cause you get more stuff to listen to. :)

Thanks everyone,
hope you like The Lost Boy!

remember, eat regularly even if you're trying to lose weight.

bye!

Whoa, this is overdue. I'd just like to start by extending HUGE OVERDUE THANKS to everyone who was watching our set at the IGNITE music festival last month. Thanks so much for welcoming Weiwen into the band. Honestly, it wasn't a very good set on our part but you guys made every second of it so much fun. Oh and thank you Diana from SheFallsAsleep for your kind pictures and that really fast youtube vid!!!!

It's been a crazy month for us as we battle the time crisis between the band, family, school, work, attachments, and army life, so we haven't been updating regularly. Our band's been through hefty changes, (every year our plans seem to change) but we're stomping both feet down this time. Hear you me, we will release our EP in March 2010.

Recording has been fun, we just tracked "The Lost Boy," the first song on our EP and apparently some of you guys have heard it already. Hope you guys like it as much as we do! We're not going to be playing much shows at this time of the year, but we're pretty much maxed out at the recording and jamming studios. we promise studio journals though!!! and we'll be back playing shows towards the end of the year.

We're also thinking of getting new merch out towards the end of the year when we start playing shows again, cause I bet you guys are sick of our old badges! More updates on that when we actually get it done!

Bad news for anyone who still hasn't had a chance to get the *limited Orion singles, there are a total of about 14 odd CDs left for purchase. For those of you who already have it, we thank you so very much for the support :)

Well that's about it, other than the slight changes you've seen at our myspace, that's that for us right now. We'll be uploading new tracks soon SO STAY TUNED GUYS!!!!

cheers,
bong

Hey guys,

Just an update to properly introduce the new voice of our band. This goes out to everyone who's supported Weiwen's solo act, For This Cycle, and also everyone who has patiently been with us through everything. For the record though, I'd just like to say that if Saosin could do this, we can do it too. Haha! Cheers!

We just filmed a short snippet for the promo vid for the Ignite! music festival at Republic Poly, and had a quick photoshoot done courtesy of our dear friend Heider. (Villians)
It was alot of fun, and a great way for us to bond as a new band. We're really looking forward to a great future as a band, and we cannot thank you guys enough for the moral support we've received. It's been a surprisingly smooth change, with the exception of the unnecessary drama at our show at the Arts House. I shall not elaborate on that, for that is another story for another day. Once again though, we'd like to thank Weiwen himself for taking this responsibility upon himself so readily and passionately. We're really excited to have him in the family. For those of you who don't know who he is, check out HIS MYSPACE! That's right, it's his solo act. We met him way back at Deafcon 5 when we were playing an acoustic show alongside him. We didn't know who he was and were really stoked at the amount of talent he had. Bong's guitar screwed up as usual, and kind old Weiwen lent his dearest possession to him to play the show. It was love at first sight. Pretty gay, but that's how the story goes. Been friends ever since, and played a great many shows alongside him. He even opened for our launch of 'Orion' last october. Our change in vocal roles could not have been easier given the fact that he's been really supportive of our band from the moment we met, and is one of our our closer friends in the music scene.

It's a real blessing to have someone with such a great deal of passion, dedication and talent in our band, but let's not forget Zach, with whom we've grown up as a band, shared so many experiences and learnt so much.

The split was mainly a result of clashing priorities. No grudges held, it was for the better of the band and us as friends to respect Zach's priorities in life and to let him go. Putting aside all the frustrations we've had over the past two years, it was an awesome journey with him. We've released and almost sold out our first CD, played on National Television, played at the Esplanade, and had the priviledge of opening the stage for huge local acts that we look up to and respect so much.

We've started to plan for pre-production of our long overdue album, a personal goal that's been bugging us since we've started. It's going to be a long way from now till it's done, but you can definitely expect the album out by mid 2010. Yeah, "goal 2010." haha. It's a long process, and definitely a tough one, given our financial situation, well, the norm with most bands in Singapore anyway. We are going to do our best to keep on schedule, and deliver the album as promised next year. There's a hint of intent to do a music video as well. But i'll keep things shushed for now.

We're also waiting to secure a new management deal with The Bastard Movement, and a new A&R contract with our label Big Ear Music. Hopefully, with this intact, we'll be able to distribute our music on a more professional front, making it available online, and possibly to other countries in the region as well. And also, play more shows. hehe.

Meanwhile, we're working our way ourselves to get back in the game again. July is packed with a show almost every weekend for us, and we can't wait to get out there to play for you guys once again. We'll be uploading our new tracks as soon as they get done, and revamping our myspace as well. Keep checking back, fellas!

*Correction from the last blog entry: our first show with Weiwen on vocals will be on the 4th of July, an acoustic show at Starbucks, One Fullerton. More details will be posted up soon!

To end off a rather wordy entry,
Thank you EVERYONE for sticking with us,
words simply cannot express our gratitude.
so come for our new show. and we'll show you.

cheers,
Photobucket

Current mood:  melancholy
I had no idea how to start this post. I'm not very good at announcing news, let alone this. But simply put, we have just changed our vocalist.

Photobucket

We strongly believe that Friendship is the most important ingredient in forming a band, sometimes even more important than the band itself. We've decided to let Zach go on account of this.

It was a collective decision, and we consider ourselves lucky to have been able to do this with maturity. To clear up any bad air, Zach did not leave us. We decided this together. It's one of the hardest decisions we've had to make up to this point, but we decided this for ourselves. Here's to Zach and everything we've been through as a band. We'll miss you bro.

Do come down to support Zach's last show with us, "Beneath The Floorboards," 5-9pm at Earshot Cafe, The Arts House. Admission is free. We'll be playing alongside Amateur Takes Control, Postbox, Actdeux and For This Cycle. Zach will be playing the last song of our set solo for you guys.

I'd just like to extend Zach's gratitude to everyone who's supported us for the past two years. You guys have been so amazing, and we can't thank you enough. Your continual support means everything. :)

Trella will still continue to fully function as a band, with a new vocalist in place. He is none other than our dear friend, Weiwen Seah, more popularly known as For This Cycle. We are deeply honoured and ever so grateful to have him on board with us.

Photobucket

Our first show with him will be on the 24th of July at Republic Poly's IGNITE! music festival.

See yall there,
And remember, you guys are as much a part of this band as we are.

Peace,
Trella

Hey guys! We now have a youtube channel where you can watch us embarrassing ourselves in various videos. Right now, we only have two videos up, but in time to come, we'll upload more videos of our live shows, our blooper videos, video updates, studio journals and so on. We'll also favourite the videos that YOU GUYS have uploaded of us, so everyone can share them around!

Added media is always good, and exposure is even better. So if you like our videos or think we are funny, do embed our videos on your myspace or livejournal posts, or whatever else you may have!

click on this Youtube thing to be directed to our Youtube channel.

here's the link in case i typed my html wrong. haha.

In Other News:
We've taken The Gavel And The Block off our myspace and added two new old songs to keep things interesting. We've also re-written our bio, and, also, Joey, Saf, Zach and I can fully agree that we miss Leon Wan who's in TEKONG!!!!! :(

We really miss playing shows, but it's been a busy year for us. We'll get back out there when we have the chance. We'll also start recording later on in the year, when we have money.

Also, a last minute update, I will be playing for my friend's band, One Too Many later on today at the Arts House Playden. Don't know who else is playing, it's an underground gig. I miss playing those. We'll be playing at 3.20 or something like that. yep!

okay. i'm up really early, cause I gotta go to church really early today.
take care of yourselves,
Trella will be out there soon!!!
bye!!

Hey guys,

It's been a quiet year for the five of us, because we haven't been playing shows. Three of us will be enlisting in NS this year, in fact, our bassist Leon has just gone in today. Tekong calls. haha.

We'll still be playing shows here and there, but given the circumstaces, most of them will be acoustic shows. Our dear friend For This Cycle, better known to us as Weiwen Seah, will be releasing his EP come July 2009, and we have the honour of opening the show for him. :)

We'll also be playing for Republic Polytechnic's IGNITE! festival towards the end of July this year. More updates on that soon!

Besides that, we're basically just writing new material, and saving up to start recording the long overdue album in September. We'll probably release it next year.

Update time, we are now officially managed by our mentor and dear friend, Razi Razak. :)

We're still looking for acoustic shows to play, so if anyone's interested, just drop us an email, and don't forget to CC Razi.

Cheers,
Bong.
Trella.
