Greetings all,

I thought it was about time I contributed something to this page – it has lain redundant for some time! As you can see we now have a couple of live tracks available for your listening pleasure courtesy of ROJer That! on Fresh Air radio (listen every Wednesday morning between 1 and 2am for marvellous, magnificent and masterly wordplay over the airwaves). Our thanks go to Jenny, Ollie and Rosie for that.

We've been messing around writing all sorts of music, some good, some dreadful, some quite ridiculous, for, well years now, and hopefully much more of it will be appearing soon. Of the former variety, preferably. We also heartily enjoy making music with others outside the regulars, so if you play an instrument – the more unusual the better – do come and drink tea and play songs with us. Perhaps one day I'll actually buy a new guitar to replace the specimen broken last October, and that can join in. A snap clean through the headstock, who would have thunked it!

One of these days we'll actually have a band name that we all agree on, but for now we'll remain with the only faintly preposterous triplet of Top Heavy Afro, Kakamadoush and Aslan & the Booble Woobles. I do hope this isn't too confusing for you dear reader.

For the record, I loathe marmite. It tastes like sour milk.

But I do like corned beef.

I can sense your awareness of a paradox.

Kind regards,

Aslan

Hey everyone, we finally got some studio time last night thanks to the lovely ladies (and absent lads) at ROJer That! at www.freshair.org.uk!

Firstly, a big thank you to Jenny, Ollie and Rosie for having us on to do the radio show, it was nerve-wracking but very exciting, and you'll soon be able to hear our interview on their next show, broadcast at 1am on Wednesday 12th March '08!  For those of you who aren't up for the full cocoa and cookies experience, they'll be releasing a podcast of the full show on their Facebook group sometime later that day.  Strongly urge you all to check it out primarily for some classic RG one-liners.  A brilliant show for all concerned, and we hope you guys enjoy our special brand of random banter!  We're very happy to be joining folks such as Rob St John who played last week, and we'll hopefully have some photos up soon thanks to Jenny!

Now, as for implications for ourselves, that means you'll be able to take in probably our deepest and most shallow tunes so far, or as many would prefer to see it, the first things we've managed to pull fingers out to finish.

Marmite: a sentimental ode to the band's favoured yeast-based spread.  Featuring hearty semi-Scottish vocals from Ferg and Dan, and with the odd fluffed note from myself thanks to recording pressure and my eleventh hour introduction to the song.  Our second take features a much improved solo from D, leading us to a foot stomping outro!

Green Jumper: we finally found a name for this old chestnut, some eight months after we wrote it.  Thanks to an hour of Russell's time we've got amazing vocals, lyrics and the odd bit of glockenspiel/tuning fork outro action, but we'll definitely be getting a full-band version with Jimmy 'the Drums' Gillies post-haste once we've all dissertated to the max.  Can't wait.

Anyway, best sign off on that note...we've got a few more tunes in the pipeline which we're going to be recording hopefully at the Gillie's Chateau, so we'll keep you updated!

Oh, and to keep everything official and make sure we don't get thrown in gaol:
