This news is as hot as the Tuscan sun: GRR will  be launching itself onto continental Europe in a Firenze [frenzy] of rail travel and gigging.
We'll be packing our boiler suits, style, phones, stylephones, xylophones and our bones.
We will be passing through France and Switzerland carrying messages from the Midlands, the British peoples in general and GRR fans worldwide. We may play some impromptu gigs on the trains and in the streets and stations. These are the messages we are bearing:
Messages to France
Emmanuelle Beart is lovely and possibly humanity's greatest achievement
but don't eat horses
maybe consider making a film without Gerard Depardieu
Messages to Switzerland
love those knives with all the bits in like scissors and tweezers an' shi', but what is the fish scaler all about?
don't be so neutral - develop opinions please
this cheese is well holy
Messages to Italy
Stop pestering ladies bottoms and remove those slick sunglasses this minute
Say si to beautiful strangers from overseas but no to Berlusconi.

EMAIL US YOUR MESSAGES: MAILGRR@GMAIL.COM
The 20 best messages will each win a copy of Adham! Put the subject of your message "My Message to Europes"

We will be making a film of these exploits, it is provisionally entitled Scrabble Broadens The Mind - The Words of GRR. But there is no way we'll stick with that title.

You will not find us in the quiet carriage.

A dedicated fan captured some of the Torriano Avenue gig on video. There's a full acoustic version of Don't Know Why and the end of Jeremy Johns. Writer Marius Kociejowski described the set as "Cabaret meets the Kinks."
We liked that one!

We sent out a bulletin about this, but we think we did not note it in the journal. Anyway, for those who are unaware, the GRR are featured in the current edition (July 2008) of Future Music Magazine, admittedly towards the back in the demos section, but alongside such names as Matt Schwarz and Goldfrapp who reside in the central pages and on the cover. The review is of Terrifyingly Strange and is pretty accurate - check out that "straight-faced rage". If you buy it you see the review and get the song for free on the DVD. And there's loads more so it makes sense to make the purchase.

PS: Adham was played on Radio 1 by Huw Stephens on Thursday! It was his solo project (AFS) single (Mothers' Day). It's not GRR, but we're celebrating here all the same. Go to myspace.com/afselectronica if you want to hear it.

Greetings all.

We thought it appropriate to mark our acquisition of 1000 friends with a bulletin and journal. We know you have not heard anything from the GRR headquarters for some while, but rest assured that we are still around, planning our next moves. We might have more news for you soon. Our side projects are happening, though - check out the Chai Tea Radio Show.

1000 friends is a great milestone, even if we do often get added by punk bands for some reason. Also our profile views have reaches 11,691 - if you have taken the time to listen to us, we do appreciate it, thank you.

GRR1000 is a rather snazzy title, actually - we might use that for our own new piece of equipment if we ever design it.

Peace out.

Review of Someothertimes by Atomicduster:

GRR - Someothertimes

N: Commencing this album "Terrifyingly Strange" might have you checking your calendar and thinking you've slipped into a time-warp. Why? Well this could well be a house-party at which Shaun Ryder was making his first and unsteady vocal debut. Home-made could certainly be the most apt description. It's almost as embarassing as seeing your Dad do the twist at the Christmas party!

T: I find this quite an endearing approach - the DIY ethic comes across rather like an ambient dance version of Half Man Half Biscuit. The group quite obviously aren't afraid of poking fun at themselves and are clearly just enjoying making their music. I imagine that band practises must be a laugh a minute, although it must also be pointed out that there ARE more serious tracks, and when they come, they are both welcome and poignant, such as the utterly beautiful "London By Night (Deep Jazz Mix)" and the rather profound "Space Invaders (Peace Version)" that completes the album. "Brasilia" is another outstanding tune and, given [the group's] young age, I see no reason why [they] can't be propelled into the limelight.

N: Yeah, but poking fun can quite literally return and bite you on the arse when you've found fame, like the "CD of earlier GRR tracks available with next Saturday's Sun"! Watch your backs. 8/10

Off the back of the GRR headlining of Evington Village Hall, there's a short piece on us in the Evington Echo. For those who know what I'm talking about, get down to the library and see if you can grab one. Or we'll just scan it and post it somewhere...

GRR are forging ahead with one of their new projects, the Conflict EP. This will feature music that is neither pro- nor anti-war, which neither criticises nor approves conflict, and which lets the facts speak for themselves. At present, the initial EP contains two songs from the Someothertimes album and three brand new ones. Two of them, Reconstruct and Meredith, can be found in the player. Work on the EP is continuing and new songs will be added soon. For more information, send us a message or mail GRR @ mailGRR@gmail.com.

GRR have just been confirmed to play at the Knighton Park Fun Day on September the 3rd. Last year it reportedly drew 7,000 people, so this could be damn good. We are currently meant to be on for 2x twenty minutes. The exact slot times and more information will be posted soon.

Hello again.

Another first for you today, the first example of GRR's other work. We've remixed the Canadian acoustic artist Tara Steeves under no obligation - just for the hell of it, really - and she's now a satisfied customer. You can find our version in the player. Do also go to her page and listen to the original version of You Make Me Smile plus lots of her other songs. And if you like our re-working and are wondering if we can do the same for you, then the answer is yes. Get in touch.

Hopefully it will not be long before DJR delivers one of his blinding sets straight to your screen.
