So here we are sitting in the aftermath of our break-up, which feels a little like New Orleans right now, (I probably shouldn't be joking about that place). Gavin, Vic, Josh, and myself are all completely bummed. We don't have a band and the house that we all lived in is being vacated this month, and we all have to find new placed to live. What sucks the worst about this is to see the MASSIVE amounts of people say things like "this sucks, I was looking forward to this bands new release and 'On' is one of my top 5 favorite albums of all time". We've all put in large amounts of energy, time, and money into this band, and at the point where we thought we were getting somewhere, one of us didn't feel the same. People change, what can you do? Before joining this band, I was one of the people in the crowd that said "wow, this band is so awesome, I can't wait until they get their chance and break out of california". I can't believe that I was able to be a part of somthing so awesome. I wasn't in the band for a long time, but anyone in this band will tell you that we were in the middle of writing this bands best songs to date. Being able to say that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand straight up, because I was at least a small part of it. I hope at least for the future I can say that I drew a little bit of influence in my own personal writing styles from this band. Despite all that's happened, Ryan has been a big influence in the way I see the music industry, song writing, and overall talent in other bands. I've always been a pretty big critic when it comes to other bands, and I have a good understanding now of why I've always been a little more critical of music than alot of my friends. The future? Who knows. We've all got things on our plates, we'll just see what happens. If Staring Back has a last show, I won't be a part of it. I've seen alot of people ask this question, and there's at least MY answer. I don't think any of us plan on fading away or going to any sort of college to pursue a career in anything other than music, so we'll see everyone around, at some point I'm sure. Take care of yourselves and be awesome to eachother. Jason
