Hi,
We are currently sorting out our Album Launch gig & preparing for our 2 week tour in April & we need to sort some decent support bands for the hometown/album launch show on the 3rd April at Havant Arts Centre.

Havant is on the ourskirts of Portsmouth so if you're in a band/know a band based in the Portsmouth area & you reckon you can sell about 50 tickets then LET US KNOW & leave a comment on this blog.

The venue is 200 capacity & we are aiming to sell 100 tickets ourselves what with it being our biggest gig but if you think you can honestly sell 50 tickets then let us know as we have 2 half hour slots available.

We'd prefer bands to be Alternative/Rock/Punk orientated however we don't mind if you're more on the Ska or Metal-y side :)

IF YOU'RE INTERESTED,
LET US KNOW!

Please note that we have not 100% confirmed the date with the venue however it is quite unlikely that we will not get the date. We are just sorting the odds & ends.

"The Devil's Conspiracy are a three piece alternative/punk rock band from Portsmouth. They formed together back in 2007, wanting to achieve a new sound influenced by their love of music which is very varied. After experimenting different elements of music they bring you 'live or lie' which bangs out attitude and sexy punk guitar riffs although the vocalist sounds like he has a cold halfway through, it was never said that Sid Vicious (sex pistols) had the greatest vocals of all time, but that never stopped him from being in one of the greatest punk bands of all time. Infact, that’s what makes punk so great, there are no rules its all about noise and attitude, which is certainty what this band have, along with being fantastic talented musicians. This is punk rock at its best. The band hot the road starting with nine dates across the UK, be sure to go check them out."

bit late but here it is:

"The Devil's Conspiracy are like a darker version of Blue Oyster Cult mixed with a finger-stripping nineties metal band. 'Live or Lie' has equal measures of harmonic and scorching and does a sterling job of balancing the two sides of the sound.

The bass guitar is pretty much the star of the show on this record, with a really tight bass riff keeping the whole song together. The guitars sound great in the intro, verse and chorus.

The bass guitar gets this song straight onto my MP3 player."

Live Or Lie' by The Devil's Conspiracy is a fast rockin' number punctuated by mind-numbing, finger-twistin' guitar riffs and fills that run rampant over the beefy and solid bass and drums whilst still allowing the vocals to project wonderfully through the aggressive melee.
Well crafted and with a distinct signature sound, 'Live Or Lie' by The Devil's Conspiracy takes no prisoners as it effortlessly cuts through the ether and assaults the senses, both physical and mental. Definitely commercial stuff this; with a vocal delivery just a tad reminiscent of Brian Molko The Devil's Conspiracy are pretty much on the money and surely rockin' all the way to the bank! This is a pretty tasty offering that causes classic rock nuances to vie with contemporary indie attitude to generate a hefty but nicely proportioned electric 'noise' of quality and distinction.

'Live Or Lie' is massively energetic and The Devil's Conspiracy, with their collective angst and ballsy focus, smash great holes in space but still manage to impart good quantities of light and shade into the otherwise full-on onslaught. I can see this one working well for this outfit; it's 'now', viable and sits astride several genre 'camps' and therefore offers itself up to punters of numerous musical persuasions. Great work this - punchy, hard-driven, raging rock with an inherent elegance of form that stands it apart from many of the 'regulars', 'Live or Lie' by The Devil's Conspiracy has all the potential to be a 'hit' - promo, promo, did I just say promo? That's what this needs now, some good exposure and surely it'll take off!

Update taken from www. Thedevilsconspiracy. co. uk -sorry if it sounds like it's been copy & paste & not all of it applies to the myspaz but we're lazy and everything you need to know about what's happening with us at the moment & in the future is in here...

"The website has been updated today. There is now a press page & biography/Releases pages have been updated.

Also head over to our myspace to hear "Hide on the otherside" Live from our single launch. We had the gig recorded professionally and are in the process of planning what songs to release so this has been uploaded as a quick snippet of what to expect!

We will also be demo-ing 3 new songs this week (and will continue to demo as material progresses for the album). Obviously we will not release every demo otherwise the album will be nothing new but one every now & then wont hurt so keep checking back on our myspace ;)

Also incase you're also wondering about the tour, instead of writing an essay of a blog or something along them lines, we will be putting footage together for a tour diary/documentary. We are not sure how long exactly this will take (what with college work etc) but we assure you it will appear at some point...

As for the future, (as stated earlier) we plan to release an album later this year & MAYBE do another tour in the summer, none of this is certain yet but we hope it will work out that way. We've also been speaking to 1 or 2 labels & will hopefully be signing a new deal soon! As for the next few months we will be writing alot and keeping a low key for a while but we will have the occasional gig & infact we have a couple coming up in April so check that out!

Stay Tuned!"

"Portsmouth trio The Devil's Conspiracy sent me a copy of their latest single 'Live or Lie' earlier in the week and it's a fine slice of emo fit for an air guitar champion. Think Brand New's first album covered by graduates of Guitar Hero III - Legends of Rock.

The other tracks on the band's myspace site are in a similar vein to 'Live or Lie' a fine blend of emo, punk and metal. 'Problem' is reminiscent of a poppier
Stiff Little Fingers while 'Hide on the Other Side' is closer to SLF's punkier side.
Forthcoming b-side 'One of Us' is their mobile phones in the air track and the closest they come to Brand New at their best."

-The Devil has the best tuna

ps. We'd also like to add that by the term "Emo", they actually mean real emo! Something many myspace fags would refer to as the likes of fall out boy & my chemical romance... well hate to tell you but REAL emo is bands like The buzzcocks & Fugazi, Jimmy eat world being a later example. Emo been around since the 80's & WAS a REAL PUNK genre until all your favorite fag-bands incorrectly labeled themselves emo and started a wave of pathetic wannabe kids who so badly want to be classified that they will class themselves "Emo", in an attempt to be part of some sort of trend/crowd - eventhough they've probably never even listened to a REAL emo band & just assume that the bands they listen to who ruined the genre/name started emo like 4 years ago... well you're WRONG. Get yourselves a real fucking identity, modern day emo is a joke, & if you think being "Emo" makes you an individual then you seriously need to get some common sense... surely being individual means you can not be pinned to a certain crowed & labeled as a certain trend?

anyways... rant over!
See you on tour

Finally, the night was finished with The Devil's Conspiracy. They are based in Waterlooville and are branching out to different areas of the south as they progress. Instrumentally, they impressed the viewers with an obvious aptitude for their musicianship and a solid sound. Sounding quite punk-influenced at times, whilst other times slightly more prog rock they had a steady but varied sound which was always intriguing. They have catchy hooks in the songs and the classic three-piece line up is a well balanced formula that manes that they can emulate their influences easily whilst being able to add their own spin on the music. For their first gig at the bar they did really well and the once their name got more well known locally I think they could become successful with the younger crowds. For young musicians they have shown great potential and now just have to advance forward which they seem to have no problems organising. "Live Or Lie" is their debut single out on Feb 23rd-check their page for more details and look at the You Tube Channel to hear it live.

Not Anymore
The band boast to have many influences, all of which are combined in this bass ridden blast of heavy drums and a clever use of the 2 vocalists, a mature sound for such a new band, the dirty bass throughout recalls the Red Hot Chilli peppers at their best whilst the metal like guitar solo adds the rock dimension.

Hide On The Otherside
Another blast of drums with an intelligent opening, with Blink 182 / Sum 41 vocals, it's a fat bout of heavy and well played guitar.

I Do
Guitar tweaking aplenty this slice of late 90's rock Americana drives along nicely and i imagine it going down well at parties across the UK.

Recover
Sounding even dirtier (if that's possible) than the previous tracks, 'Recover' has a laid back yet grungy feel at the start which explodes like a good bit of Ska, definitely a live favourite here.

Problem
With a bit more of an experimental start you can feel the band trying out something new and it works for them, being more of a Ramones style song it works very nicely and as the same venom as the other tracks.
