its very easy to post good reviews & bury the bad ones...this one from herts/essex music zine made me giggle...do you get the feeling the reviewer doesnt like punk?

Antibodies. A rather eccentric and uncommon name for a raving British punk band, reminiscent of the overly-hyped Sex Pistols. Antibodies plough any diseases with their rather intriguing song structures, throaty lyrics and groaning guitars - Antibodies seem to achieve a sort of hybrid of rhythmic noise and upbeat punk which is heading in a direction that no one knows the destination of. The E.P. starts off with a generic-sounding track aptly named 'I Ruin Everything'. Common use of moaning guitars and extremely odd vocal parts don't really make Antibodies seem promising. Next on the E.P. is 'Assassinate Me', which you can guess has the typical 'Lets talk Politics' lyrics. Strangely, this song sound ridiculously similar to the previous track - again, same guitar and bass techniques are used (which makes the song quite repetitive). Lastly (much to my pleasure) is 'Concrete Cancer' and is certainly the strong track of the demo. Interesting riffs that seem to be much more original than their predecessors, this song seems to create a much more original, blending feeling that Antibodies should pursue, instead of playing bland, and boring punk.

Ultimately, a promising attempt from the 3-piece based in Harlow (that the Antibodies lads should pursue) but you won't be seeing CD's in 'Virgin' any time soon.

This is our first offical release by the cool as fuck Choking Hazard Records, Canada, its a four track 7" vinyl featuring...

Reality Cheque

Hymns For Dregs

Plan B

Glamour of Backwardness

We recorded the 4 songs in one day at INFX Studios in Bucks with the wonderful & almost charming Ant Chapman at the controls. Having so many songs i cant recall why we chose these 4 tracks, other than that Plan B & Reality Cheque were very new additions to our live set. Glamour was recorded a few years back originally but the results were pretty dissapointing until Muddy Two Sugars joined us on Bass duties it took on a new llife as hes done with all our material. Hymns had been in the set for a few months & nearly didnt get recorded.

The artwork for the EP came together pretty quickly, i had the bits laying around to create the collage & it was just a case of going nuts with the pritt stick. The original artwork was in monchrome but after chatting with Steph at Choking Hazard we went with the red/black which to be honest improved it greatly...a big thanks is owed to Sarah for her talent & hardwork in turning a glue soaked scrap of paper into a very sexy cover. I didnt originally plan to include lyrics as i like to listen to music & work it out for myself however with an insert required it seemed fair enough to include the words.

we are all really happy with the EP & look forward to polluting the world with more releases.

King size thanks to Steph, Sarah, Lisa for providing the photo which i forgot to credit...Doh!! Ant & all those who support us :)

Halo of flies records

This is some snotty punk from the Uk, snarly accent and all. this reminds me of the first time i heard the Pagans. pretty solid catchy stuff. and i absolutely love the lyrics... "i wish you was explosives i'd strap you to my chest, we could blow each other to pieces along with everybody else!" good shit!

Suspect Device Zine

I love this EP! Four tracks of rough and ready, up tempo punk rock with a great political attitude! They sound quite '1977' on this recording but with a bit more aggression than bands back then seemed to manage. The track 'Glamour of Backwardness' is my standout tune and has it all. This is punk rock made simple but so fuckin' effective! No more to say than this except that if you can be bothered to seek it out then you is a winner! (Gaz)

ANTIBODIES - CONCRETE ROCKERS GO UPTOWN EP
If you yearning to harken back to hey-days of early UK political punk you better pick this EP up right now! This band sounds like an old unearthed SUBHUMANS demo from the era of " The Day The Country Died ". The vocals are dead-on and the demo-like raw recording recreates the mid tempo, dark brit punk style exactly. Solid, angry punk rock!

ANTIBODIES
'Concrete Rockers Go Up Town' 45 (Choking Hazard) 2007
Well this was a long time coming, over a decade in fact, but the wait is finally over thanks to Choking Hazard records in Canada for sniffing out a quality punk outfit when they hear it. How come home grown British punk labels don't seem to notice whats on their own doorstep? Well their loss and our gain coz Harlow's Antibodies were always a band that given the right studio enviroment could show us exactly what they're capable of. And thank gawd we can now hear them in their infinite glory on black plastic. This is definitely the best 45 and debut release this year. Last years promo CD featuring a taster of studio tracks was good, but this fuckers excellent! Hurtling out yer speakers like nails in a dirty bomb with a raging mix, no flab, very Lean and extremely mean with all the punk snot you could fit in an envelope and post to Canada. As the eery guitar licks in for opening track 'Reality Cheque' amidst feedback, oil tanker drums and a snarly bass plus those Dalek like vocals you know your hearing something worth writing about. Lead singer Pete spits out a long list of real life grime and ignorance in the eye of the storm before once more it closes as it begun in a subdued but definitely sinister format. 'Plan B' which is rapidly becoming my fave Antibodies song of all time is next. The sentiments about how life is cheap in a disposable age are all very true but its the actual delivery and and arrangements of this particular number that hits home every time. Great back up vocals that add a whole new dimension to their sound and Pete's stabbing lead snarl exposing the shit. You could almost hear elements of the Dead Kennedy's on this track, it has that same sorta vibe but from a very English perspective and even a Crass influence rears its dark head for a few seconds as the last verse gets detonated...they close with a defiant..."I'm the body in the forest that no-one ever finds, I'm a deserter in this army of lies." 'Hymns For Dregs' is a heads down no messing buzz saw workout that would give the kids in the blitzin outfits a run for their money as its spat out at an hyperactive rate and is over before you can scream...."the buses never arrive and the people are cunts". 'Glamour Of Backwardness' has transformed from the name of an Antibodies collection that was self released a few years back, into an actual song and its good 'un. We get to hear of the bands love affair with another long list of bogey men, despots, human failings and abuse that is usually found in most Government Policy's these days, but now we have our very own soundtrack to all crap. Perfect! This red white 'n' black colored bomb see's one little boy patting another big boy and comes with a much needed lyric manifesto thats stamped on top of a brick throwing youngster on the streets of Belfast. An Informative, entertaining and realistic punk rock release for the 21st century.
Oh and before i forget there's an Antibodies album penned in for release in 2008!
