Hey Everyone!
I just got back from the CCMA's in Regina, and it was AWESOME!
There is too much to tell you so I"m just going to pick some of my own personal highlights of the week.
There are so many great artists/songwriters and workers in this industry that makes it all worth while. The songwriter's cafe was one of my favourite events for the week. Some great songwriters, Don Schlitz ("The Gamlber" and too many HUGE hits to mention in one blog update). Dave Berg ("Stupid Boy" - Keith Urban, "Moments" - Emerson Drive and more...), Troy Kokol and Joni DeLaurier ("Pickup Truck" - Shane Yellowbird)... So many great songwriters!!!
Congratulations to Bart McKay for his award "Recording Studio of the Year", I'm honoured to say that I'm currently recording with Bart and I"m so excited about the future
There wasn't a dry eye in the house (including mine) when Shane Yellowbird went to accept his "Rising Star" award. Congratulations Shane!!!
Brad Johner picking up "Male Artist of the Year" is another huge highlight of this year's CCMA awards.
This is just a quick update, if anyone has there own highlights, please feel free to add them!! I'd love to hear about it.
Until next Time
Cheers :)

Current mood:  busy

I just arrived back from the ALL-IHC (International Harvester Company) show in Lacombe. What a gorgeous weekend, the weather was fanstastic Global Country provided the entertainment, so over the weekend myself, Emily Seal, Kayla Patrick and Katie Mission performed at the event. "Speak Into the Mike" provided the sound equipment and we all did our thing!! My family came along and had a great time too. This is the first year that this event has been hosted and I'm sure they'll be doing it again next year.

Emily Seal and I teamed up to sing the National Anthem together being that it was CANADA DAY - HAPPY CANADA DAY EVERYONE!!

The people were so friendly and I really enjoyed chatting with everyone.
I didn't even get a speeding ticket this time.....HA HA. Long story...

Thanks to Bernie Yakimyshn for getting us the gig and taking myself and family on a tour of the event.

Cheers :)

Current mood:  impressed

I was honoured to be asked to perform for the closing ceremonies of the Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay. In a very short time, these great participants managed to raise almost $150,000 and I believe that figure was still rising.

"The proceeds from the Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay are used to provide equipment such as ramps, wheelchairs, home adaptations, mobility devices, communication aids and environmental controls for children and young adults with physical disabilities and/or serious illness." (taken from the Easter seals website)

I was totally humbled by the efforts once again of the volunteers and how they still managed to smile after not sleeping for a couple days.

Emily Seal and I performed and we had a great time at this event.

Cheers :)
