THE DALLIANCE Howdy!!!!

I just took a look at our page and I realized it's been agggges since I've updated this bloggy blog (remember the days when I used to write on this for every show???) so figured since I have the time I would send an update on what we've been up-to.

In case you haven't noticed, we have since put the Bradys on hold this year in order to promote our new musical endeavor called THE DALLIANCE...which we've posted 4 FREE songs for you to download at our site http://www.thedalliance.org. We took a weekend in early May and after 3 cases of Miller High Life, a Bottle of Petron and constant loops of internet porn running on multiple laptops we managed to record these songs ourselves in my basement!! Darrell did an amazing job recording (it's awesome what you can do now with a Mac, some software an a nice set of mics) and we are really proud of the new EP. Our pal Barry sings on three of the tunes and I even managed to sneak one on myself.

This is the first time we've written the songs without sitting in a dank rehearshal room together cranking them out and we really took our time crafting these...which I think really shows. Anyone looking for the usual 3 chord gang vocal pop-punk of Brady won't find it here, but I think you will really like and it was really refreshing to try something new. We rehearsed for the first time a few weeks ago and although it was wierd seeing Shawn behind keyboards instead of his guitar and playing to backing tracks (one song has something like 6-8 keyboard parts!) it was also very fresh and exciting.

The plan is to record a few more songs in the Fall (which we'll also post for free), then a few more and we'll put them all together for a full length release..which will have all of the bells and whistles when it's realeased on I-Tunes.

So in the meantime go to our new website, check out the tunes and on the page is links to all of the places where you can get your Dalliance fix (Twitter, FB, My Space etc).  Everyone right now is doing their summer thang, but be on the lookout soon for some live shows!!

Brady Bastards and the two CD's we released will always be near and dear to my heart (some of these you might even hear in our Dalliance sets). "The Deep End" personally was the first time I ever had the guts to sing lead vocals and ever written a complete song on my own, so I will always have a special space in my heart for this band. However, anyone who was reading my book rants (which I know...I have to get back to that as well) knows that I was looking for next direction to do and I think with the help of my good friends I think I found it.

I hope you follow us and enjoy what you hear.

Sup Foos...

It's been awhile since I've been on this darn fangled My Space, so I thought I would let everyone know of the latest happenings...

Spent the last weekend at the dusty basement of my home with my brothers drinking a hell of a lot of alcohol and recording a new EP for our new project THE DALLIANCE. Recorded 4 new tunes for the new band, which we will be releasing sometime in June 09. Very dark and very different than the usual Brady sound and we are really excited for everyone to hear it when it is all done. We will be posting all of the links to where to hear us and find us, but for right now all we have is http://www.thedalliance.org (which will have pics, videos and links to all of our social networking sites when the EP is released).

Which means we will be putting Brady Bastards on hold for the rest of 09 while we promote The Dalliance. But fear not, we will probably be releasing singles and playing the occasional show if we get an offer/urge to do so.

So before w say adios to the striped shirt metal, we will be playing THURSDAY MAY 14TH at POPEYE'S PUB!! We've been dying to play this place and my pal Lou from Sub Z hooked us up with a great show, so it will be a fitting last show of 09!! Check out the invite and bulletin soon....

So keep your eyes out for our new project THE DALLIANCE!!!!

annnnnnddd.....

check out this new trailer for the upcoming movie "SASQUATCH ASSAULT" below. just like "BANSHEE!!" we have 3 songs in this film!!  We hope to see both of these bad boys coming out in 09.

Howdy!

I realized that It's been quite awhile since we sent you all an update, so I figured since I had time I would put down the PBR, turn off the RedTube and let you all know the latest happenings...

Had our first show of 09 with new member Barry at The Webster Undergound and we had an amazing turnout and good time (what is it with us with awesome shows in Feb?? Must be the love in the air). Set went really well and we had a great response, so thanks to George from SSR, Hawhee, Mike and Michelle (even know you missed us...sorry guys) for making it to see us. Felt really good to play in front of a big proper crowd...

Next up we have yet another Battle Of The Bands FRIDAY THE 13TH @ THE SPACE. No bugging for pre-sell tickets this time, but please come down on Vorhees Day, support us and have eh...a coffee. All of the deets are on our sites...

After this gig, we will be in full writing mode for The Dalliance record..so no Bradys for awhile. We've been writing more than ever and the stuff is sounding really, really cool. The plan is to hole up in a cabin in MA for a few days in May, record and have something out by Summer 2009. Some working titles are "Leave It All Behind", "It Is What It Is", "Wait For it", "(re)Birth", "The 5th Step" and a lot more (That BarEE is a writing machine!).

Right now all we have is our site (thedalliance.org), but we will be taking video/pics, posting updates and song demos of the whole project from beginning to end (kinda like our Some Kind Of Monster...but without the crying and lame shrink...well maybe). We'll let everyone know when the site is live with treats and where to find us.

That's all....hope to see some of you on the 13th!!

Greetings all,

Hope everyone had a fabulous holiday!!! Just a quick update to let everyone know what we are up to...

First off, we are proud to announce a NEW member to the Brady Rock & Roll family!!! We have added another guitar player to the mix, so now along with Shawn we have Barry who will be playing shows with us as The Bradys. Which means we now have the KK Downing/Glen Tipton duel axe attack!!
We had our first practice with him last week and the guy knew the whole set cold and added some really cool stuff to the tunes and overall sound. The set sounds killer and we are looking forward to playing out as a 4 piece to the masses for 2009!!

Speaking of which, we will be returning to the WEBSTER UNDERGROUND on SUNDAY FEB 8TH for a battle of the bands show sponsored by Gorrila Music!!! We will be selling tickets, so we need everyone to buy tickets, come to show and give Barry a good ol hazing!!! We'll send out a link to pick up tickets (which are $10 clams) when the site is up along with the event info. Either that or e-mail us with the subject line "save me a ticket!!!" and we'll hook ya up.

I'm not a big fan of selling tickets (or Battles in general), but the more we sell the later we play and we want to make a good impression with Gorrila so PLEASE SUPPORT THE BRADYS!!! We need EVERYONE to make it!!!

So once this show is done, we will be in the lab with Barry writing tunes for THE DALLIANCE record. We are also planning on re-releasing a "greatest hits" of sorts under the more PC name THE BRADYS featuring songs from the first 2 BB CD's online only with maybe an extra treat or two on it. THE DALLIANCE will be our main focus for 09, but we love all of the Brady stuff and I'm sure the year will be peppered with random shows and singles of new songs.

So, hope all is well and looking forward to seeing all of you soon!!! Here's a lil pre VD wish for you all....

Hideeeee ho!

It's been awhile since and update, so figured I would give you the skinny on what we've been up-to in Brady land...

Last night was the first time in 5 months that your 3 pals entered into the Band Room to rehearse!! We've put together an "all killer-no filler" set of 10 classics from the 2 CD's and we are hoping to get back into the clubs for the Fall/Winter to see if anyone still gives a damn about us. Felt good after so many months to finally strap-on a bass and rip through the tunes with my pals again. Anyone interested in booking a show with us can e-mail us at info@bradybastards.com or catch us on any of our networking sites (Facebook,My Space,Mohawk Radio).

As far as new music from BB is concerned, we are actually experimenting with some different sounds and style that we will be releasing under a new project for 2009. Right now it's in the very early stages of writing ideas, but it will be wayyyyy different than Brady. Lots of layers and even keyboards!! *gasp!*. I'm trying to get in touch with my inner Robert Smith without all of the eyeliner and Vodka bloat. We'll let everyone know of the details when we have something to report...right now all we have is a band name... THE DALLIANCE

which means sadly, no new BB music for awhile. We are even thinking of changing the BB name!! Since we are not doing the striped shirt goofiness anymore (just doesn't make sense) and we are starting to run into troubles with licensing/promoting our music (once they see BASTARDS in the name, it's usually a deal breaker for this PC world we now live in) we think it might be time for a name change. Once we do, we will be re-releasing the BB songs under the new name (just the 10 all killer no filler songs) to every and any outlet that we can.

So as it stands...The Dalliance will be the main focus as far as new music, but we will still be playing shows as Brady Bastards (or whatever our new name will be) to keep our chops up and have fun. We were planning on not writing any new BB songs at all, but Darrell and I just saw Bouncing Souls and Sick Of It All a few weeks back and it did inspire us to keep writing under the BB style. We'll see what happens...I'm sure a 7" or single might pop up from time to time :)

Thanks for reading my babbling.
