This local, West-Michigan based photographer (David Spaedt) has been generous enough to put our music up as the background music for his business!  Please visit his site and help support those who help support local music!!

For years, Brena has been entertaining crowds across Michigan.  With a love for and focus on their audience, Brena steps us as entertainers - not just musicians - and makes the enjoyment of their fans a top priority.  This five-piece is all about three part harmonies and crafting originals that are lively and dynamic.  Brena has rotating air play of Circles on 96.1 Radio X and 102.7 WMOM; a single from their 2008 EP Wait 'til Word Gets Around.

"Their songs are filled with '90s rock hooks and an explosive rhythm section." ~Andrew Zientek, Grand Valley Lanthorn 2008

Brena comes from a well seasoned lineage of musicians.  They brought together two experienced bands, Broken Sunday and Smoody, along with their fan base, to form what they are today.  The members of Brena have a diverse range of talents and hold a number of degrees from established Universities: Voice Performance, Graphic Design, Percussion Performance, Jazz Piano, and Music Composition.

Hey guys,
We've been video taping our recording/jam sessions all summer to hopefully post some vlogs up on the site for you all to watch. Whereas the videos aren't finished, we've put a slideshow of still shots from some of the footage up on the site. Feel free to check out a still preview of sorts. Stills from the Houghton trip should be up soon also.

We're also looking into playing a couple shows around GR pretty soon. Check back often for new show postings. Hopefully we'll see you soon.

Current mood:  grateful

Hey everybody. We're coming to you from the extreme north of Michigan's gorgeous upper peninsula, homeward bound from an exciting couple days of travel and shows. First off, the Intersection show last Thursday night was a great experience. We were overwhelmed by all the positive responses we received by all of you that came out. We feel very lucky to have been able to play for such a large audience for only our second show and really appreciate Broken Sunday having us open for their farewell show and all those of you who listened to us as well. If anyone has pictures from that night please send them to us and we'll post them as soon as possible.

After Thursday night's show we packed up the trailer and pointed the Chrysler minivan north for a 10 hour overnight trek to Michigan Tech University in Houghton, Michigan to catch an afternoon show to help celebrate Keweenaw day. Through heavy eyelids, wet roads, and scary long stretches of upper peninsula highways void of open gas stations while running on fumes, we arrived in time to load out, set up and rock the field house. Thanks to all those there that sacrificed and pulled themselves away from the buffet table to end all buffet tables to watch us play and for having a bit of a chat after the show. Knuckles to all you Huskies. Thanks again for having us. We hope to be there for next year's festivities as well.

Well if we had our way we'd still be in the van driving to another show however, reality beckons and we must return to the lab for a bit before we can hit the road again but we plan to keep plenty busy. We still have seven tasty, toe tapping treats to record vocals on and send to your ear cavities. We also are in the process of whipping up some snazzy T-shirts, stickers and other merchandise (Brena undies perhaps?) to be made available for those who wish to spread the Brena love. And as always, we'll continue to write fresh tunes for your speakers to groove to. Check back often for new songs and updates. We hope to make bumping into you at our shows and myspace a habit. Thanks again for all the feedback, it really means alot to us.
