This is my favorite track off of "Tears".  Rick's vocals rocked!

FALL (©2006 ELEKTRONIKA)
Verse:

(Rick) Aint it sad when you take your first steps

Take each advance….with a smile

Careful consideration

In every move and it feels like it’s worthwhile

(Dawn) And you feel it

Yeah you know that you could fall

And you need it

Yeah you know that it’s the same shit after all

The lessons learned mean basically…. nothing

After you fell off the high horse you been riding

(Rick) Some call it…. necessary

You call it…living

(Dawn) Because you live it

As you suffer…spinning

Like a rat on a wheel

You suppress what you feel…bleeding

(Rick) Go ahead

And build that wall

Bleeding…for what you call

(Dawn) Can you feel it?

(Rick) The better good

(Dawn) Do you need it?

(Rick) Of humanity

Dawn) And you scream it!

(Rick)You fall

(Dawn) You suffer

(Rick)You fall/You fall

You fall/You fall/You fall

You fall

I have never understood people's fascination with expensive trendy restaurants.  Maybe it is because I was raised in the south in a great family who couldn't seem to cook small portions or act "appropriate" in an upscale dining establishment.  Perhaps this is why I love New Orleans so much.  (Small town mentality with the added benefit of an open mind and a huge heart.)  I love a local joint with a great vibe, great home style cooking and great beer/strong drinks served with a smile with a warm, friendly staff.....almost as much as I love cooking for a group of hungry musicians.

April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month
Spread awareness of the importance of preventing cruelty to animals!!!!!
HLE officer and dogThe ASPCA kicks-off Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month on April 7 when iconic buildings and landmarks across the country will light up in our signature color and “Go Orange for Animals.”
Join our campaign to raise awareness of animal cruelty issues. Let “Go Orange for Animals” become your battle cry as we work together for the creation of humane communities everywhere.
Here are 10 ways your shelter can increase awareness of animal cruelty and participate in Prevent Animal Cruelty Month:
1. Have a candlelight vigil for the victims of animal cruelty. Or take a moment of silence in remembrance of animal victims during events and trainings held in April. Approach your local media about covering your event. Use these press release and media advisory templates (.doc format).
2. Select a mascot for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month. Choose a cruelty survivor your organization was responsible for rehabilitating and placing.
3. Get on the program as a speaker for your local community service groups (Junior League, Elks, Rotary Club, etc.). Teach them how to identify and report animal cruelty in the community.
4. Engage youth in your community. Approach your local scout troops to do a penny, toy or towel drive for your organization.
5. Add a link to puppy mill information at ASPCA.org to your MySpace or FaceBook page or blog to inform people about puppy mill cruelty.
6. Put up a “Caring Tree” in your lobby (a paper silhouette of a tree). Ask visitors to pledge their support by writing down what they will do to prevent animal cruelty on a leaf or animal form cut out of construction paper.
7. Get a mayoral proclamation to recognize your efforts to fight animal cruelty in your community and table at City Hall for the day.
8. Contact your government officials about strengthening your local and state animal protection laws.
9. Train your local police, fire and utility workers to recognize signs of animal fighting. Encourage local law enforcement officers to take a free online course on Investigating Animal Abuse.
10. Reach out to local domestic violence shelters to establish programs for emergency housing of pets from homes with domestic violence
11. Bonus! Ways for Kids to Go Orange. Link to this ASPCA Animaland article, written just for children, from your website. Or print the article and make copies available to families who visit your shelter.

So, today I was "inspired" to post these lyrics I wrote from the "Tears" CD

If All For You

Verse 1-
Beautiful… you stand in silence....
A great façade you lure her in....
Same arrangement....
Vapid win....
Your transparency is wearing thin....

Chorus-
If all for you-What’s for me?....
Predisposed to obscurity....
Your reckless state is…killing me....
Leaves me to ask if all for you-What’s for me?....

Verse 2-
Powerful… you bide your time....
Baiting me thru prose and rhyme....
So ironic…blind ideals....
He who hurts most....
He cannot feel....

(Chorus Repeat)

So my friend and mentor Pamela Moore is giving vocal lessons at Bellevue American Music.  She is teaching Thursdays, every other Friday and a couple of slots open on Saturdays. The store charges $62.50 an hour with a min. of 2 lessons a month. (Pamela prefers 4
times a month but it just depends on the student, their budget and time.)
If interested, email Pamela at: lessons@pamelamoore.net
I can tell you from personal experience that Pamela was a huge help for me when I moved to Seattle.  Although I had sang since I was a child in church, at school and taken lessons with a wonderful vocal coach at Seattle University, as well as sang in several bands, I never really had anyone tell me straight out the realities of what life on the road does to your voice.  I never learned a singer's responsibilties to care for their instrument.  Pamela taught me so much on technique, resilience, self confidence and gave me REAL advise.  ALL other singers I knew at that time, told me they never had fatigue, never lost their voice, claimed they could drink smoke and party and never be effected.  BS!!!!! Pamela set me straight and was always honest, caring, supportive and inspiring.  Anyone who can take vocal lessons from her, will be glad that they did.  She is a truly wonderful soul!
