In our last communique, we mentioned the brave new world of Bandcamp that Leigh had just entered. Bandcamp is an swell place for bands to showcase their music. There's none of the clutter of Myspace, and nothing you have to join to listen - just a clean music player that makes it easy to check out any of the songs, with album art and lyrics all right there...

And, a sneak peak at upcoming shows:

Here's the newest in new news, straight from the desk of the Laughing Stock Ministry of Truth. (And don't be scared off my Myspace's moronic "oooh, you're leaving Myspace now, is that OK?" page....)

Live at the High Dive (on Leigh's site)

(please click through the annoying Myspace "External Link Alert" page!)

Eight songs in one rockin' bundle, showcasing the evolving sound of the full band lineup. Plenty of mighty bass, some newer songs, and one very special cover...
  1. Greener Pastures
  2. Lucky Bastards
  3. Get Yours
  4. Baby Ruth
  5. Immigrant Song
  6. Fast & Loose
  7. Inebriate Waltz
  8. Long Overdue

I've added a couple songs to the Myspace player - "Inebriate Waltz" off the Lone Fir Cemetery compilation, and "Stakes" off Red Tornado.

Enjoy! And if you like the cemetery song, check out the rest of the fine work on the Lone Fir comp, all from Portland artists writing and playing original songs about dead people:

Jesse and I are doing another acoustic duo show this Friday, Feb 20, at the Press Club. We did one of these together a few months back at the Waypost, and had a lot of fun with it. Here's how it works: I sing and play geetar and stomp on some foot percussion, and Jesse plays some great bass lines and sings along. Sounds rather prosaic to state it as such... but we get the floorboards a rattlin', I tell ya!
