THE NOPE. Torch & Psy. It's what happens when rappers from opposite coasts link up and happily trash everything in their way. Psy (from Toronto 's "Oddities" collective) and Torch (from gawd knows where) have re-revolutionized free thought over a bunch of lovely tracks supplied by none other than Moka Only (from Vancouver's famed band, "Moka Only"). The Nope give serious ponderance to the preponderance of things such as religion, McDonalds, girls (both the sex & relationships that are had with them), rap, rain, stress, fortitude, gas, and all things mental. Some would say life is incomplete without the Nope. They are nitwits. Join them, and immerse yourself in an environment that won't judge you....much. MELBA.

Tracklisting:
1. Y'all Hear?
2. Yeah!
3. Where the Chorus Goes...
4. Nopefolk Goh feat. Ishkan
5. It's Because I Don't Have Not Much
6. Balls 'N Brains

Critical Madness (cRITICAL + Madness) is the combination of 2 legendary battle vets who originally met in the Orlando hip-hop scene and eventually partnered up after competing for the same crown in the final round of numerous open mic freestyle tournaments. What started as a couple of CM tracks has now manifested into their debut album "Bringing Out The Dead", released through Domination Recordings which features collaborations with Slaughterhouse front man Joell Ortiz as well as Sabac Red, Young Zee, long-time collaborator Little Vic and others. Covering the production side, TEMPERMENTAL produced the bulk of the LP with TzariZM adding his own brand of sickness to the stew. Marco Polo and DC the MIDI alien also contributed to the soon-to-be classic. "BOTD" covers everything from the politics down to pornography using clever lyricism & unique wordplay over infectious melodies laced with some boom bap. It is the experience of a lifetime and gives a slight peek into the influences that created this mind bending duo.

Tracklisting:
1. Gods of War
2. Until I've Lost
3. Nuthin U Can Do
4. Where Am I Going? feat. J. Bada

Seasons Greetings... This is my sixth edition of the Martian Xmas series. I feel that over the last few years of doing this annual project I have developed a certain continued vibe that is set apart from my other album releases. Martian Xmas was never intended to be a 'standard Xmas' album per se but more so an excursion into the sounds of north American winter during the holiday period... at least that's how I see it and intend it to be. The whole "Martian" thing originated on the first album of the series as the outlook of a displaced alien that arrives on earth during the holidays to learn and understand what the fuss is about and pledges to return annually to add his contributions. I think this concept may have been ignited by a little known Xmas cartoon special that I viewed as a child entitled 'a cosmic Christmas' In which three alien visitors arrive on earth to determine what the 'true meaning' of Christmas was and how they could "measure it". They befriend an outcast boy and his pet goose who shows the three visitors around town and eventually home to his lower income family. The aliens are sworn not to interfere with the human condition but have a change of heart when the opportunity to save a drowning neighborhood troublemaker occurs and thus discover the true meaning of Xmas in forgiveness, community and family.

Anyhow back to the music. I will say this: The Martian Xmas album series has evolved from a literal definition of a visiting Martian into a permant earth dweller who simply feels alienated and uses the music as his main means to even connect with the rest of the world. And that's me! And as I was touching on before, I’m not sampling from well known Xmas songs nor am I doing covers. This is something different altogether... And that's valid...because afterall, who is to really say what constitutes as Xmas music? And I use a secular approach with the words and content. Lyrically with this series I try to paint a patchwork of scenes, some abstract and some literal which entail everything from Xmas shoppers, last minute holiday preparations, family, friends, the weather and of course Jazz and speaking of which, listeners who are accustomed to the Moka Only catalog will notice a heavier jazz presence on this years Martian Xmas as I have culled together a few talented and notable individuals whom originate from jazz backgrounds to add their touch to this project. Also I am very excited to help introduce the work of Sean O'Hagan of the incomparable British avant-pop group The High Llamas' to my audience. This group has been instrumental in partially reshaping my scope of music making. I am also pleased to introduce to the world a new talent on the boards, a beatmaker by the name of Jules Chaz of Victoria, BC who comes from a jazz drumming background. I foresee great things for his future. So to conclude my view on the project I would just like to say that I hope I have encapsulated a feeling of the holiday period that people from any background and/or walk of life or denomination can attain something from as this music is directly culminated from my holiday time experiences since childhood. I a very proud to bring you the 2009 edition of Martian Xmas. Special thanks to the forward thinking label Domination Recordings and Urbnet Communications for taking a chance with a left-field release as such. - Moka Only

In the over-saturated hip hop realm of throwback gimmicks and bleak failures glossed and packaged as "creative and groundbreaking", it has become difficult for many of today's emcees to pull themselves above the throng and deliver anthems that convey street authenticity as well as creative evolution. Tone Liv a.k.a Da Mayor manages to crawl his way out of the malaise of this wasteland of cliches and deliver on both fronts in a way that captivates without alienating; despite the fact that Tone may very well be from another planet. Or maybe just New Jersey.

In a state that has spawned such historic rap powerhouses as Redman, Rah Digga, and the Artifacts; Tone is determined to forge his own place in this legacy simply by being himself and commanding acknowledgment. Subjecting his formative years to such insanely brilliant emcees as Ghostface Killah, MF Doom, and Freddie Foxx, Tone administers doses of lethal street venom with enough abstract adjectives to mash his way across the disjointed spectrum of "genres" and bludgeon the listener in the barrage, while bearing a vocal tone similar to Chief Kamachi. Tone often chooses beats that make you feel like you have warped into a psychotic decaying street kingdom where he presides as Mayor and rap overlord, relying on distorted and obsolete sounds to splash the listener with a psychedelic vision of the way Tone sees his world; doused in dim lights, gutter slime, liquor, blood, and graffiti.

With an obsessive work ethic fueled by beer; Tone has waved the banner of the Green Llama collective proudly, appearing on several of their releases, specifically Dibiase's "Llamaville", Uncut Raw's "Heavy Dose", City Slick's "Antique Black", Decay "Unlikely Hero" & "Unlikely Villain", among others. He has also released a few of his own projects such as "Beer for Breakfast" and the "Birth of Doggie Jones". He will soon be unleashing more of your grimiest nightmares into the world in the forms of "Superhero Sandwiches" the album, a collaboration with Llama warp-out producer Vincent Price entitled "Only built for Timberland Boots", and The Remarkable Mayor's "The Campaign".

Tracklisting:
1. The Main Menu feat. Sunset C and AURC

Breez Evahflowin releases "Free-P" to show thanks for the support and positive reviews of "Breez Deez Treez".

Following up on the success of his critically acclaimed Breez Deez Treez, New York MC Breez Evahflowin is out to demonstrate he's back for good, offering a new "free-p" of music to show his gratitude to the fans, critics, and blogs who helped make his latest album such a positive success.

Breez Treez Free is a free downloadable EP, featuring the original DJ Static premixes of When You Fall and I Failed. As founding members of the underground Stronghold rap collective, Breez and DJ Static bring us back to the beginnings - before the accomplished battle MC took a hiatus in the mountains of North Carolina to pen Breez Deez Treez.

Giving listeners a taste of both past and future, the free download also features exclusive Daveytree remixes of Money Don't Love Me, Tryin To Hold On and Matador, originally released on the Breez Evahflowin and Dirt. E. Dutch collaboration Troublemakers.

Rounding out the free offering is a bonus freestyle track, which finds Breez back in "Loud-ass Midtown Manhattan," reflecting on the creation of Breez Deez Treez and looking toward the future. Featuring shout-outs to all the people who made the CD possible, from Bay Area producer Deezlee and MCs Dojah and Symphonic, to longtime friends and Harlem-based Swave Sevah and Ike P. Breez also hints at things to come with a forthcoming new project in collaboration with producer Daveytree expected to be released in Fall 2010 on Domination Recordings.
