Last night was the Queensryche contest which many have heard about. Former All Too Human singer, Don Duzan, and two others were selected to sing a cover tune to backing tracks by Queensryche off their latest CD "Take Cover". The contest was held before the Queensryche concert at The House of Blues on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles on Friday night. Unfortunately (due once again to work), I was not able to witness the event but will sum up witness accounts.
Three people were selected as finalists to sing before the show. As it turns out, one guy cancelled. The other guy thought the contest was on Saturday and barely showed up 10 minutes before he had to sing. He sang "Welcome to the Machine" by Pink Floyd. Don sang "Neon Knights" by Black Sabbath and won hands down. Scott Rockenfeld (drummer for Queensryche) was watching his performance from the side of the stage and as Don walked off, Scott told Don, "it's gonna be fun playing with you tonight during the encore".
Queensryche does their show and closes with "Eyes of a Stranger" then it's time for Don. Geoff Tate introduces him and after asking a few questions, the band starts. Tate sings the first line and Don takes it from there. The place was packed. By the time he got to the break before the solo that screams "Neon Knights", the place erupted! They loved him! Even Geoff Tate was smiling! :) When Don walked off the stage (after giving the "I'm not worthy" bow to every member in the band), all Tate said was, "Wow!"
Congrats to Don on what I'm sure was a lifelong dream come true for him and from what I hear, an outstanding performance with the band.
Mo
P.S. - I am currently working on a project with Don called "Engage Eight" which will be released on Astral Sun Records this Summer.

Hello everyone. Just wanted to drop a line about the new CD, "Juggernaut". Drums are recorded, and have been for quite some time. Most of the guitar tracks are done with the exception of a few solos and acoustic tracks. Bass tracks were completed first week in October. The vocals and keyboards will be recorded as soon as possible. Hopefully by January. Unfortunately, we've exceeded our timeline and crashed into Steve's timeline for recording vocal tracks with his group Ashent. He will be recording with them in Italy in November. Cristian is moving to France but will be recording his keyboard parts over the next couple of months and sending them to us.
The CD will be released on Astral Sun Records (new label between Maurice Taylor and Gordon Tittsworth of Images of Eden) sometime in February or March. We hope to have more news for you sometime soon.

Some news:
We would like to welcome Steve Braun to the ATH family as our new lead singer. Steve is also the singer for the Italian progressive metal band Ashent. He will be recording his vocal tracks for our new CD (Juggernaut) in Nashville, Tennessee. Drum tracks are recorded. Rhythm guitar tracks are recorded. Steve and Maurice are working on the vocals. Vocals, bass, and keyboards should hopefully be done by July but may take a little longer. Sorry for the long wait but we hope it will be worth the wait to the fans.

Hello everyone,
Just a word to let everyone know that I have decided to move back to Los Angeles. I will be there by August 24th. I have an excellent job opportunity that I can't pass up.
It will not hinder the band in any way. It will delay the next CD a little bit but we hope to still get it out as soon as possible. Hopefully by November. I also hope to meet more of the musicians in the scene and in the industry. So if you're in the Los Angeles area, please get in touch with me through this site. It would be cool to meet you guys and check out some shows.

This is Cristian van Schuerbeck - now keyboard man for all too human. I would like to tell you guys a few things. We're redesigning the website and we'll be uploading video clips in the next few weeks. We're also planning a tour in South America for this year, so we have already started working on that. It sounds exciting that we've got a lot of plans for this year and then a lot of great things to come up with the new album Juggernaut. Peace y'all!
Cristian van Schuerbeck, keyboards.
