One by one I'm getting rid of your things I'm making a fire and using your memory as kindling. So you better come and grab what you can as much as you can if you can stand the flames. 'Cause soon the fire will turn to blue and I'll think of you but mostly I think about the burning. And when that pile has turned to ash I will laugh, yes, I will la-ha-ha-ha-haugh. Yeah.
Chorus: 'Cause I'm moving on and walking away. I'm waking up and leaving this bed that I have made. I've lied there long enough to say: I'm moving on and walking away.
No, I don't owe you anything, I've done my penance I've skinned my knees, I've set my ghosts free. Baby I know that a broken heart is only equal to the sum of its parts, and I'm not in that equation. No I won't be held accountable to that math so insurmountable this push and pull to try and make things right. But if it's wrong just let it be wrong 'cause it won't take long for the fire to raze everything, so sit back and enjoy the glow.
One by one I'm getting rid of your things and I'm making a fire I'm making a fire, ha ha ha. Ha, ha, ha.
One by one I'm getting rid of your things and I'm making a fire I'm making a fire, ha ha ha. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
the end.
Take that.

Oh man!
I just got word that Julia and I are going to be playing at the Space every Sunday. The shows are all at 5:00 and are only $7.00. I'm not sure what the situation is as far as other bands. I am assuming there will be a bunch of other bands, which will be awesome. We will play for 45 minutes, which is cool because it's slightly longer than our normal sets at the Space when there are other bands.
I can't even wait. I love the Space, the people at it, the bands that play there...yes, I do. And, some of the shows will be opened up by the infamous Julia Suriano. We'll play songs from her upcoming album "In the Wrist." That's gonna be awesome.
So, if you live in Connecticut, or even if you don't, drive on over to the Space on Sunday nights and check us out. High fives will abound.
Word.

So, I just got confirmation back about an opening gig at the Iron Horse. Me and Julia are going to open for Eric Hutchinson. Eric Hutchinson is pretty awesome. He's got this Maroon 5, Jason Mraz vibe, mixed with Stevie Wonder, and even a little Justin Timberlake. His songs are catchy as hell too, and lots of fun. There will be plenty of handclapping moments during his songs as well as after.
This show makes me super excited, as it is a great opportunity and also sounds like it's gonna be an awesome show. Check out some Eric Hutchinson on the iTunes store, and you'll get jazzed too. His newest album is called "Sounds like This..."
This is the first show Julia and I will have played at the Iron Horse together. That's pretty neat. The show is November 15th, at 7:00 PM (doors at 5:30). Me and Julia each have tickets. If you get them from us, a few things happen: we look better to the Iron Horse folks, and they will possibly give us more shows, which would be awesome; also, you will save a few bucks.
Tickets from me and Julia are $10, whereas if you get them at the door, they are $13. You can buy your tickets in advance from the NBO, but the Iron Horse folks won't know you bought the tickets to come see me and Julia. So, if you want some tickets, send either me or Julia a message, or leave a comment, and we'll hook you up with some tickets to what will be a really sweet show.

When I open up my mouth the words do not come out. And though I can't say your eyes tell me that you know.
You have loosed the chains and shown the light to me.
Kiss me, quickly, please, before we have to say goodnight. If the sun comes and we're not done then we'll know it's right.
I can feel the notes go up my throat to sing your song. Even though the words you never heard you sing along.
'Cause we are the same song. So let's sing it loud, loud, loud.
Kiss me, quickly, please, before we have to say goodnight. If the sun comes and we're not done then we'll know it's right.
Kiss me, quickly, please, before we have to say goodnight. If the sun comes and we're not done then we'll know it's right.
If I don't lean in to press your lips gently to mine, know I want to; know I want you; it's just not our time.

This room where I'm sitting - it used to be empty. We stood in the corner and talked about money. And if we could do this; if it could save what we had left.
We told the landlord: yes.
We filled up the room with all of our things. We took both our hearts and put them on strings - hung them by the front door along with our keys.
I lost mine first, and for that I am sorry.
Six months of our lease left and you're already packed. But I don't think I can leave yet so I'm gonna try to stay.
I think I'm gonna stay.

The future used to be in color - saturated hues that hovered in the East. Now it's fading, fading ever Westward - slowly sinking - never was an ending ever so beautiful.
And hey, we're running out of time. We're running out of time.
It seems there's something in between us; years turn into distance - a name that I once knew. Our shadows all the while lengthen. I watch my own grow longer until it's blending with the night.
But, hey we're running out of time. We're running out of time.
A choir is singing in the distance; their harmonies are perfect. (I wish that I could sing like that.) The sound moves - moves just like a cloud moves. It's lifting me, it's lifting me. It's lifting me but
hey, we're running out of time. We're running you and I. We're running out of time.

So I guess we tried our best but Winter took its toll. The trees are dressed; it's darker less; the flowers all unfold. But the boxes in the living room - familiar as they're strange. It's the exodus of what was us and the thing I can't explain
is: Everything feels broken - it's all rended apart. Yeah, everything feels broken but my heart.
I think the sky needed to cry but it held in the clouds. I saw the light as it tried to shine through the ominous grey shroud. But the air is thick and full of it it will stay like this all day. We can't spend our time just wondering why it hasn't begun to rain - because it won't.
Yeah, everything feels broken; it's all rended apart. No sense in starting over it's already gone this far. Even though it's over - our love is a black star - everything feels broken but my heart. Everything feels broken but my heart.

...then I love you. Playing at the Space was one of the most fun gigs I've played in such a long time. Everyone there ruled, and you were so encouraging. We felt so welcome. And I don't mean the royal "we," but rather me, Eric and Julia. Right.
Anyway, I couldn't be happier with how that show went, and it was so nice meeting all of you who came up and talked to me. I hope those of you that bought CDs totally dig it. Let me know if there's a song you miss that's not on the CD. I'll work something out. Winks.
Be on the look out, as I should be coming back to the Space very, very soon. I just got a bunch of dates and am waiting for confirmation.
I miss you, the Space, and all the people in you. You all were amazing. Remember, if I come back, bring your friends, and their moms too. I'll sing a Frank Sinatra number or something. It'll be money, baby.

I'm not going to give up yet, so don't walk out the door. You can't forgive if you just forget; ebb the oceans from your shores. I'll dry your eyes and make it right I'll make it right I'll make it right. If I fail then I'll retry and fail and retry and fail and retry, 'cause
Hey!- I never wanted that. Hey!- I never wanted that.
I am the water that cut the canyon that divides you from me. I am the cage that you put your heart in, now you want me to set it free. But your heart is my heart is our heart that beats hard don't take it away from me. 'Cause my heart is your heart is our heart if it's gone I will be left empty.
Hey!- I never wanted that. Hey!- I never wanted that. Hey!- How did it get so bad.
I'm not going to give up yet. I know I've said that before. But baby don't worry, baby don't fret. I know - so many chances- but just one more one more one more one more one more
Hey!- I only wanted that. Hey!- I only wanted that. Hey!- I'm gonna make it better better better better. Hey!- I only wanted that. I only wanted that. I only wanted that.
I only wanted that.
