Dear All!

Apologies for the absence of blogging and maintenance of the SMYB website.
But tonight was the night for Bowling! A group of 14 of us youth and co gathered to the alleys and had a really great night.
We played "boys+somegirls vs all girls team."
Two games were played and the all girls team beat the boys+some girls team, but they had one rail on the gutter, so that wasnt cool! haha
After some spills on the alley (jane) and a few games at the arcade a few of us oldies (including myself) decided it was time to turn in.

We all had great fun and the next WLN will probably be a wet and messy one! In January
So from all of SMYB, have a great Christmas and a happy new year!

Love,
SMYB

May 17, 2009 - Sunday
Currently it' 11:34am on Sunday morning and Last night we, SMYB, had a great night!
It was the Centenary of St Michael's Parish.

It was really a whole day(and night) of celebrations! There was a Mass served by Cardinal George Pell and there were about 15 other visiting priests from the local area. There were so many people, we think the usual Sunday masses are packed! This was exceptional.

The Mass was great and the entertainment and food afterwards was lovely as well. The Cardinal came and partied at Bethany Hall too. His prescence was simply spellbinding, seeing him up close was jaw dropping; he is soo tall! Oh, and being Archbishop is pretty cool too!
Everyone was captivated and we were very blessed to have him serve the Mass. People were asking for autographs and photos- he was like a celebrity. (A few photos will be up soon!)

SMYB played towards the end of the night, when there were only about 1/3 of the crowds left, but there was still a good number of people left and we were the only group that got everyone off their feet and dancing and letting their hair down. even Rosemary took off her shoes and started dancing. We played : Shake your tail feather (we had a blues brothers theme going on) , Open the Eyes of my Heart Lord, Light the Fire and Here I am to Worship.
The songs were regulars we played in church but we made it as loud and dancable as possible.

We got a big clap and a lady approached Jen and said "you guys should have been on earlier!" haha

AWESOME

Helloo All!

Well! SYMB had a big night last night! We were guest musicians for Worship in the City at St Mary's Cathedral. We played alongside another great band (who only met on the night which was spectacular because they were REALLY good!) and it was a night of worship and praise and prayer.
It was a fantastic environment (being in the crypt- a very sacred site and sight!). There will be pictures posted up soon!
Having the opportunity to play at the Cathedral was a fantastic experience and sharing it with others in such a fabulous place was even better.

Many thanks to Cathy and the team for having us as guests and for being so enthusiastic and supportive.

SMYB are playing at the beautiful St Mary's Cathedral on Friday 8th May at about 6pm.

We were asked to play after our advertisement for "What's Happening?" In the Catholic Youth Services newsletter caught the eye of an organiser.

Thank you very much for giving SMYB this opportunity to play at St Mary's.
April 28, 2009 - Tuesday
On Saturday 16th of May It's 100 Years of St Michael's Parish. We are celebrating at the school hall, where George Pell will celebrate the mass at 5pm.

SMYB have a pending performance and we will keep you posted on this historic event.

Hello!
Happy Easter to you All, hope it was a peaceful and joyous one.
We have all been very busy at the band, with selling CDs and what not. :-)
I am currently on break from uni but it's hardly a break at all! With about 5 projects under my belt all due in the one week, its hectic!

And this half of the semester other students have exams and what not, so best of luck to all of them and hope you are well prepared.

We have raised over $1000 for the victims of the bushfires in Victoria! Thank you once again to all
