So i hit the road today, on the road for three weeks between London and Montreal. Rather then blogging this tour, I'm going to be "tweeting" it. Next tour I'll probably blog again, but I thought it would be fun to try something different. I can update in real time via my cell phone. Make sure to follow me at http://www.twitter.com/theDGB

We made it home. We woke up Thursday morning to snow. Nice. Thursday night was a little busier than Wednesday, but still pretty slow. No big deal, we rocked out for them the way the DGB does, and then hit the road. 14 hour drive to Fort Frances, show there starts at 6pm. We drive all night and manage to get to the show right at 6pm. Luckily no one came to the show, so it didn't matter we were late. Then we hit the road to Lindsay, twenty something hours. It was a crazy marathon of driving. Got my first speeding ticket in years leaving Fort Frances. It's funny, because I drive like hell all the time, and yet the one time I get caught is for a 76 in a 60. $55 ticket, I can't believe he even bothered pulling me over.

So the tour ended just like it began. We started the tour with a big house party the day before we left. We ended it by coming home to one. We started the tour in North Bay where no one came, we ended in Fort Frances where no one came. But hey, the shows in the middle were great, so we can't complain. Can't wait to do it again.

We roll in the driveway at 7pm Saturday, with our guests all invited over for 8pm. Good timing DGB.

Ah, the road to Kamloops. I let Jon do the whole drive so I could sit in the back, write my last tour blog, and sleep. We stopped and got subs for dinner, and my favorite Jon driving moment yet happened on the way out. Thinking he was heading back unto the highway, he guns it down this street only to have to slam the brakes on at a dead end. It was pretty funny from the back seat, as I wondered what in hell he was thinking. We messed up our navigation and drove around in circles for a while, but we got to the bar with minutes to spare before we were supposed to start. It was a two band show and we were playing with a Vancouver band called the Fuzzcats... or maybe just "Fuzzcat", one or the other, A reggae rock mix. The bar is called the Pogue Mahone, and it exclusively books original acts, so I was expecting a young crowd. Turned out to be mostly drunk middle aged people, but they loved the music, and danced it up, so success was had. We sold quite a few shirts that night as well. Then it was time to head back East. We had to be in Red Deer for Sunday Night. I get in the van to start the journey, and instead of turning over it just clicks. Perfect, just the problem you want to have at 2am before a 12 hour drive. Wasn't the battery, but turned out just to be a loose wire on the starter. On the road again.

Alix stayed up to keep me awake, but she slept more then stayed awake. I managed to keep my eyes open anyways, watched some TV to stay awake. Alix introduced me to a show called Leverage. It did the trick. Jon took over in the mountains somewhere, and we seemed to make it. I woke up to snow in Calgary. Then to Red Deer. We were playing an open mic at a place called "the Vat". It's supposed to be THE place to play in Red Deer, but I couldn't get a hold of the booker, so we settled on the open mic. Turned out to be a really cool club, and really busy for a Sunday night, so well worth the stop. We sold some CD's and impressed as always. I crashed out after the show and everyone else stayed up until 8am for some reason. Then we spent a day with our family again in Sylvan Lake. We played a special acoustic concert for our family in the afternoon, and then had a big dinner at my grandmothers. Then we played rummy and I won. Woot. We went back to stay in my uncles trailer, everyone went to bed and I drank some wine in the van and played guitar. And then and then and then... not structuring this blog well, I'm watching TV and getting a foot rub all at the same time.

Tuesday we were booked for an open mic in Saskatoon. Because we came from so far, they gave us a showcase set and some free beer. We did an hour set, and rocked the house. Lidia's... cool bar. Jon and Matt chased some girls after the show and Alix and I stayed and finished all the beer. Probably in there till 3am. The guys got back right after we got into the van. The 3am Boston Pizza date turned out to be a no go. Now we're in Swift Current. We were supposed to be hosting an open mic last night, but no one came to jam, so we jammed acoustic all night. Not a big crowd, but everyone had a blast. They put us up for the night. Not a fancy spot, but we all got our own rooms. Full size fridges in every room, but you gotta go down the hall for a toilet or shower. Fancy stuff. We play tonight full band at the same bar, and then we gotta drive over night to Fort Frances. A lot of driving after this show. Then Saturday Night we get back to Lindsay just in time for a house party. See you soon.

Been a few days. We've still been very busy, hard to find time to write these, but I'm letting Jon take the drive to Kamloops so I can get caught up. Though using the laptop in the van makes me feel a little nauseous. I should be okay. We left off in Lloydminster. After Starbucks, Alix's cousin bought us all dinner, which was very nice of him. Then off to Bar 5. It sucked to miss the first show, since we had newspaper coverage and the likes, but at least everyone knew we were coming back. The crowd we ended up with wasn't huge, but it wasn't bad either. A few people really into it, and that is what counts about every show. We crashed out in the parking lot after the show, and headed towards Red Deer in the morning. Jon and I have a bunch of family in the Red Deer area, so we left the Sunday and Monday night off to visit. Our Uncle let us stay in a big heated trailer in his yard, which was very nice. Nice to have some privacy, and a place to stay that we can fully stand in, and have hydro and such. We got fed very well, and packed on some pounds to keep us going through BC.

Tuesday night we started into BC. First my Grandmother took us out for all you can eat fish to celebrate my August birthday (any excuse for all you can eat fish is a good one). We all over ate, and then headed into Red Deer. The plan was to hit an open mic and then drive overnight into BC. We get to the bar in Red Deer and ask when the Jam starts. They point up at the stage and say whenever we are ready. We opted to have a drink in the van and let our fish settle, we came back in an hour later and there was some more people around. We played five songs, and excited everyone the way we do. We could have left early and it would have been fine... we almost did, but then we got partying with the locals and next thing you knew it was 2am. Ah well. Time to hit the road to Whistler.

The drive from Red Deer to Whistler is longer then it looks. It was the first time ever that I took longer then the mapquest directions said. First off, the obvious way to go from Red Deer is head south and take the main highway out of Calgary. Mapquest gave me a short cut through the Indian reserve though, so I figured we'd give that a shot. Probably would have been a decent short cut in daylight, but at night, it was a totally black route, no proper signs, and lots of animals in the middle of the road. It took way longer then it was supposed to to get to Banff, shortcut fail, but no big deal. Smooth sailing from there, straight for 400 miles. 400 miles of twists and 40km speed limited and no guard rails. Not a good place to make time at night. It was a nice drive though, definitely would be a pretty drive to make during the day, but we got daylight for the tail end of the mountains, and we should catch the other side on our way back out. Somewhere during that drive there was a straight stretch and I got to get a movie in. Harold and Kumar go to Guantonimo or something, it was pretty funny. Around 8am I let Jon take over in Revelstoke, and I crashed out in the back. Woke up on the road into Whistler. Another mapquest fail, apparently most people go in through Vancouver, and take a normal highway. We went a different way, a route they call the Duffy. Again, a pretty neat route, but it was crazy twisty turny. I thought I was in a game of Tony Hawks or something, one of the crazy downhill courses. Along the way, the front brakes started smoking like crazy. The wheel was crazy hot, and I thought maybe they had seized into place. We let them cool for a few minutes and I bled the line, since I didn't bleed it when I did the back brakes even though technically I should have. We put it back together and it seemed fine the rest of the trip. I thought I fixed it, but apparently it's more then likely they didn't need anything done to them, and where just overheated. Learn something new every day. We also noticed a pool of prestone on the passengers side floor. Different problem, worry about that when we get to Whistler. As we drove on, the defrost starting blowing prestone unto the window, getting hard to see, but almost there.

Turns out Whistler isn't all that big a place. Since I've known probably more then a dozan people that have moved there from Lindsay, I figured people would have moved there from everywhere and it would be pretty big. But not so. They don't even have a Canadian Tire. UH OH. I started tearing the van apart in a parking lot to get to the heater core, but I decided it was too big a job for ths day. We met up with our friend Leah and went for cheap wings instead. We had a little while till the bar, so we decided to chill out in the van. My friend Nathan came and visited us in the van for a while.  We couldn't get a show lined up in Whistler, but we found an open mic, so that was a good enough excuse. We all kind of wanted to check it out anyways. The open mic turned out to be really good. Leah came back, and our friend Sharon came out and they each brought friends. We played 5 songs, and people really dug it. We sold some discs and partied the rest of the night. Afterward we went back to Sharon's place. Stayed up later than we should have, drank some wine, and then got to sleep in beds. Awesome. In the morning we all got showers. Also good. To show our gratitude, someone clogged her toilet. No one admitted to it, she didn't seem that upset. Then it was time to fix the van. We let Alix and Matt go explore the town and Jon and I started to work. We got it all tore apart, and the heater core was definitely screwed, so it was time to find parts. No one in Whistler had what we needed, but we got directed to a place in Squamish that did. Before leaving Whistler we checked out there thrift store. Since so many people move in and out of Whistler all the time, this place gets a ton of stuff. Jon and Matt both bought snowboards for next to nothing. Now we are carting snowboards with us on tour. Perfect. We found the part in Squamish and started trying to put it in. I couldn't get the heater hoses off though, they were connected by some sort of locking coupler instead of hose clamps. Eventually I gave up and we drove to Vancouver in the rain with no defrost and the smell of prestone. Whatever.

Hit another great open mic in Vancouver, this one at the Rusty Gull. We got there just in time to sign up for the last slot. Luckily, people stuck around, and we blew our audience away. Made some disc sales and had a great party with the locals. We went back to my friend Kodiak's afterward, made a ton of popcorn and drank wine (I brought six boxes of homemade wine on tour, the equivalent of 45 bottles, but much more compact). Got showers again the next day. Getting spoiled. Then time to fix the van fixed for real. I found a garage in Vancouver and got the job done for $65. Sometimes one has to break down and hire someone,  but at least we knew exactly what was wrong and had the part already, so they couldn't screw us at all. We toured downtown Vancouver for a while, and then went for dinner at a fancy Caribbean restaurant where a friend of Matt's was the chef. Fantastic food. Then it was off to Surrey. Again, much to full to do a show, but on we went. Everyone warned us that Surrey was really sketchy, so we came in expecting some crazy dive, but turned out we were booked in a very nice Irish pub. This show was booked pretty last minute, so it wasn't promoted as well as it should have been. The crowd was small, but super pumped up and partying to our music, so it was worthwhile. We were getting free booze all night, so we had a pretty good time too. After the show we invited one of our new fans out to the van for a drink. She really seemed to like Matt. Then we slept in a parking lot in sketchy Surrey. And survived. Alix and Matt really wanted to go back to Vancouver the next day to see the ocean, since we didn't make it  that far the day before. Despite my better judgment, I agreed, and we just spent the day in Stanly Park. Very nice park. We had a nice day outside, and now we're running late and on the road to Kamloops. Ah well, what fun would a show be if you weren't running late.

It's a day later now, but I'll include Kamloops and beyond in my next blog, this one is long enough. We're all still alive anyways.

I was starting to worry. Everything was going so smoothly on this tour, I thought I wasn't going to have anything to write about. Well, it's been four days since my last blog, and lets jsut say I haven't had a spare moment to write one until right now. Anyways, start where we left off. Moose Jaw.

We were excited for the Moose Jaw show and it did not disappoint. First, we got fed, all you can eat pasta turned out to be a bad idea, and we were way too full to play, but we pulled it off. For a Tuesday Night, we had a great crowd, and the we got a lot of good feedback. The owner held a special keg party for the event, so the place was packed with young people trying to get drunk for cheap. Perfect for a DGB show. After the show we crashed out in the parking lot, and then headed to Edmonton first thing in the morning. By the time we got to Edmonton, our brakes were pretty well shot. This was the second piece of vehicle trouble on the tour, but the first was only a blown fuse and hardly blog worthy. We still had some brakes, but no compression in the pedal. That was tomorrows worry though. We have cousins in Edmonton, so we met up with them and toured the downtown. Then we headed to the bar. Perfect venue for us, not too big, not to small, a little divey, but in the good kind of way that screams rock and roll. And super nice owners. Our cousins came out, as well as our friend Jordan Elliot, and we ended up with a pretty decent walk-in... the owners postered like crazy for us. The bar was called DV8 Tavern, and thank god for people like them supporting truly supporting live music. After the show the owners put us up in there basement. Three beds and a TV. Perfect.

The next day it was time to tackle the brakes. We joke that on the road it seems like we stop in almost every Canadian Tire along the way. This was true this tour already, as I was trying to scam last sale price on a jug of oil that hadn't been on sale for a month. Eventually I just wrote myself a rain-check and got it in Moose Jaw. I won't pay full price for anything at a Canadian Tire. Anyways, it was time for Greer and Greer to go to work on the brakes, so we dropped Matt and Alix off at the West Edmonton Mall, and we went to a Canadian Tire parking lot figure out our problem. We found a broken brake line. Easy enough, I had it fixed within half an hour. But, as we were testing them, we heard some grinding. Pulled the wheel off and a bunch of stuff fell out. The job was getting over my head, but I don't like paying people to do stuff, so I fucked around and got it back together. The brakes still weren't working right, but it wasn't leaking fluid anymore anyways. Another days problem.

Next stop was Calgary. One thing about these Alberta cities, they are not as easy to navigate as they seem. I barely bothered with directions, because the streets are all just numbers, and run in order... in theory. Turns out it ain't quite that easy. We got quite lost in Edmonton the day before, but did okay in Calgary, though we were a little lost for a bit. We don't usually get lost, so it was funny for it to happen two days in a row. We were running a little late, but made it to the venue in time for the show anyways. The bar was called Verns, and it turned out to be a pretty cool little venue. We played with two local rock acts, and we headlined. The owner was hilarious, all the bands stuck around till the end, and we had friends come out, so the night was a success. Afterward our friends - Richard, Mary Jane, and Jen, invited us to there place for the night. We got showers, a swim, and a HUGE breakfast. We hung around later then we should have, but still left LOTS of time to get to Lloydminster. Jen worked at liquor store and got a big discount, so we bought a couple hundred bucks worth of liquor as well. Also, a random funny sidenote, Jon drives a 92 Chevy Caprice, and on the back it has a logo that says "Shaginappi". We always found it funny, but never really new why it was there. Turns out there is a Shaginappi street in Calgary with a Chevy Dealership on it. Now we know.

The road to Lloydminster turned out to be more eventful then planned. About a half hour outside of Calgary we blew a tire on the trailer. Just a tire, no big deal. We had a spare... an old spare similar to the one's we blew on the East Coast tour, but it should be fine to get to Lloydminster. Bit of a pain changing tires on this trailer, you have to drop the axle to do it, but not a huge deal, we did on the side of the road in twenty minutes. Time to rush though, we're running behind, so I going about 130 clicks. BANG. Blew the spare within 20 minutes, blew the rim, blew the hub and bearings, screwed the U-bolts, and were stuck on the side of a four lane highway. Right down to the axle. Luckily, there was a Princess Auto only 20 minutes away. Kind of wish there was one of those in every town instead of Canadian Tires. Man they are handy spots. CAA brought our trailer to the Princess Auto parking lot, and I got the parts I needed. Luckily they had everything I needed. A full hub assembly, new wheels, new u-bolts, and cheap tools. And somehow they didn't charge me for some of it, and I saved 100 bucks. Not sure how they screwed that up, but I wasn't complaining. Some minor complications held us up longer then planned, but we got it all done and done right. Leaving Red Deer at 9pm, supposed to be in Lloydminster an hour ago, 500Km to go. We figured we try to get there in time for a set, and I drove like hell, We got there at 12:30, which was pretty impressive, but it wasn't worth doing the gig at that point. I hate missing shows, but sometimes you can't help it. So we spend $300 instead of making it. Not a great day for the books. We had a beer at the bar, I cranked some NU-METAL from jukebox, and we loaded our gear in. We are playing the same bar tonight, so at least we aren't letting the town down, just hurts the finances. After that we found a nice parking lot to stay for the night, had pizza and wings, and then hit the sack.

Today, it was back to Canadian Tire. I tackled the brakes again. Re-adjusted the pads, and re-bled the lines. They seem to be good now, so hopefully they hold up. Now we're sitting in a Starbucks using the Wireless. Gonna grab some dinner and head to the show. Should be good. After today we have two days off, to visit family and relax. Should be nice.

Can't get that Plaskett song out of my head. The one where he just randomly says "it's a long long way to Winnipeg". Turns out it's not actually that far. Anyways, to start where we left off, the next club in Thunder Bay was also huge. It was kind of exciting. The one we played on Friday Night had a conveyor belt into it, and this one had a loading dock right to the back of the stage. You know you've hit the big time when. The Roxy has a huge stage, it was nice to not have to stand so close to Jon. There wasn't nearly as many people out to this show as there was to the Rockhouse, but the crowd we did have was really into the music. And wasted, which generally helps for a DGB audience.

After the show we hit the road for Winnipeg. Jon DD'd, Matt slept in the front seat to keep him up, and Alix and I drank in the back seat. The Jack Daniel's went down good, so instead of resting up for my drive, I drank heavily. DGB logic. I crashed out around 5:30, Jon pulled over somewhere by 6:30, and I got up and started  driving around 9am. We got to Winnipeg early in the afternoon, hit a starbucks to use the wireless, and talked to a crazy guy, who thought it was a disgrace that I was using a computer instead of having a conversation with him. I attempted to ignore him and started working on doing some bookings for my solo tour (which I am going to attempt to book while on tour). Jon refuses to check his e-mail while on the road, so he had no computer, so lucky for him he got to keep this guy company while hte rest of us worked a way. Then we went down to the forks. Didn't actually catch why it is called the Forks, but it is an important part of Winnipeg none the less. We met up with an old friend of Alix's, and went out for dinner on a ten million dollar foot bridge. We haven't been eating out much, but apparently the Salisbury House is a Winnipeg tradition. We all ended up doing breakfest for dinner, and ate way to much. half-ass napped and half-ass drank in the van for a while after that, and then it was open jam time. This night turned out to be the first real good party of the tour (as least since the crazy tour kick-off party we had last Tuesday). Our good friends Michele MacPhee (who I used to live with), and her boyfriend Weldon came out, and the bar had Paralyzers on special. We played a short set that went over well, and then just partied all night. We ended up putting Michele and Weldon up for the night, after a van after party that went until 5am. We all slept pretty comfortably considering there were 6  of us. Luckily Winnipeg doesn't seem to have any cops, because we drank beer and cooked food on the sidewalk right downtown for an hour after the show, and no one came by. A bylaw officer caught me peeing in the bush later on that evening though. Told me to find a better spot. I said no one else was around and he shouldn't have followed me. Prick. I finished right in front of him anyways.

Next morning we got moving 'round the crack of noon. Found a YMCA to get cleaned up. They were going to charge us $8 a head for public swimming, but I told them our story and they let us in for free. This pool had a crazy fast watervslide. It was nuts. After getting all cleaned up, it was 2:30pm. Time to make a plan for the day. This is the one day of the whole tour where we really had nothing at all we had to do. Usually on off nights we still go to bars and find random people to drink with and promote our music to, but we decided to have an easy night for once. We grabbed some groceries to cook a big meal later on, and got a head start on our 7 hour drive to Moose Jaw. I made some phone calls a long the way, and I'm pretty sure I got all our BC dates filled up. I will be going over  them again today, and hopefully announcing them very soon.

We made it to the Saskachewan border, and stopped at a rest stop for the night. Alix was happy to stay somewhere with bathrooms for a change. Hard being the only girl, but she does well. We cooked perogies, chicken, steak, and mushrooms. Not a bad dinner. Then we drank. Jon and Matt passed out and Alix and I stayed up quite a while after them, drinking rye, and then wine when we lost the rye. I brought 6 boxes of wine with me, equivalent of about 42 bottles, but much more compact. Gotta save money however you can. Eventually we went to sleep to, and now it is tomorrow. Tuesday Tuesday. We are in Moose Jaw tonight. Really excited for this show. The owner is super excited to have us and is planning a good party, and we're probably the only thing happening in Moose Jaw tonight. It's gotta be good.

Hopefully we have time to stop and use some wireless before the show and I can post this. Not actually sure how far we are from Moose Jaw. The time keeps changing, hard to keep track.

Also, BC dates are all now announced at http://www.myspace.com/theDGB

And don't forget to follow us on Twitter http://www.myspace.com/theDGB

We made it to Thunder Bay. Still a long long way to go, but were feeling pretty positive we're going to make it. It's 1pm Saturday Afternoon right now, and we are still sitting in the parking lot behind the bar we played last night. Probably got the best sleep of the tour last night. Not too many days this tour we get to sleep in past 11am. We're getting our breakfast going right now. Eggs, toast, hash browns, possibly some meat, cooking it all up on our little stove in the parking lot, drinking wine. Perfect beautiful day. Too bad at some point we are going to have to interrupt it to play another concert. But you gotta do what you gotta do, not an easy life this touring business.

So the drive to Thunder Bay was an easy one. Alix and I watched a stupid movie in the back seat while Jon drove for a while, and then I took over. Really loving our living room set-up in the back of the van, so comfortable. It's like being at home on the road almost. We got to Thunder Bay around dinner time, grabbed some food at the local Super Store, and sat in the van in the parking lot eating and drinking until it was time to play. Turns out the club we were playing here was huge. I got a call coming into town that they had to switch one of our venues. We were supposed to be two nights at the Roxy, but as it ended up, we did a club called "Rockhouse" last night, and then we're at the Roxy as planned tonight. Both clubs are huge. Rockhouse hosts acts like Doc Walker, Trooper, and Sean Kingston. The night was 25 plus, which was kind of funny considering Jon and I are both under 25, but regardless, we gave them a rock show. The place was kind of like if (Lindsay Bars) the Irish House and York combined. We ended up having to do a few more covers then we would have liked to keep the owner happy, but all and all it was a good night, and we got to play to over 300 people. Tonight we are doing another show in Thunder Bay. Going to be the same type of show at the Roxy. 25+, big club with a DJ, and we are the in between feature entertainment. It's another big club, looks like Cuff the Duke and Elliot Brood are there next week.

Breakfast is done now. We found a public swimming pool to get some excersize and get cleaned up, and now Alix and I are hanging out at Starbucks doing our computer work while the guys walk around killing time however they can. I'm going to spend a couple hours here and try to fill the last few holes on the tour. Hopefully I'll have some more announcements later today.

So, we are almost to Manitouwadge, ON. Been a long time since I've been this far north. We drove over night last night and stopped for a pee on the side of the road and
saw more stars then I ever have. Tour has started great. We started off hitting our favorite four of what we consider home markets. Toronto, Oshawa, Lindsay, and Peterborough. Toronto was great. The amount of support that city has been showing us lately is phenominal. Got to see lots of friends in Oshawa and Lindsay, and then we had our big tour kick-off concert in Peterborough. I must say every other city should be jealous of the great bar owners in Peterborough and how much they support there local musicians. Dean Pappas of Pappas Billiards specifically went out of his way for us on Tuesday, hooking up a huge roof top concert for us. We made the front cover of the Peterborough This Week and the first five minutes of the Chex news. The weather guy even played our drum kit.

After a successful tour kick-off we hit the road, beginning our month long adventure. Hitting the road for this tour is Jon and myslef, along with Matt L'Allier on the drums, and Alix Cook doing tour management and merch. We're starting to get good at this living cheap thing, and even brought a small stove this
trip to make our own food. We haven't had to buy a take-out meal yet. The pictures of Jon cooking hot dogs in the back seat of the van are priceless. Our first stop was in North Bay. Very small show, but we had a couple people from Montreal there that really dug the tunes, so a small success the same. Manitouwadge tonight should be awesome. We seem to do really well in small communities. Should be a killer party. Lots of exciting stories to come. Stay tuned!

Didn't find wireless before the show, so lets continue this blog. Manitouwadge was pretty fun. A little town about 2000 people, we played a small bar (the only bar in town), and had a decent little crowd. The young people were really excited to have a band come through town, because not too many bands travel up this way. Haven't had a phone signal in a couple of days, but I'm sure we'll hit some soon. Alix's Aunt lives in the community and she put us up. We had our own little apartment downstairs. Haven't had a lot of crazy excitement yet. No crazy drunken parking lot parties yet, no run in's with the cops yet, and no vehicle problems yet. But the tour is just beginning, so I'm sure something crazy will happen soon. Never had an uneventful DGB trip yet. We're off to Thunder Bay now. Playing a big club, apparently there is a DJ all night, and then we are the feature entertainment. Should be interesting.

Crumbs in Fredericton was a good time. It wasn't as big as we'd hoped, but the crowd we had was really receptive, the staff there is great, and we had a wonderful time. We sold CD's to everyone, and then we had to hit the road to Quebec. Katie put her laptop up on the dash and I drove for 5 episodes of law and order. I even avoided hitting a deer while speeding and watching TV. True skill. We pulled over about half way to Montreal and slept in the van at a rest stop in Quebec.

Big traffic going into Montreal. I like the city a lot, but I'm glad Toronto is my home city. I've hit bad traffic here and there in Toronto, but it doesn't seem to matter when you drive through Montreal, the 40 and 20 are always jammed. No less, we had lots of time. We got to the venue and ordered pizza to our van. Turned out the pizza place was two doors down, so we were able to walk and retrieve it. 4 small pizza's for $33, all gormet stuff. Turned out one of them was a seafood pizza with octapus on it. (menue was in french). Jamie and I liked it, but no one else did too much.

Turned out Fadeless, a band that does a Nirvana and Metallica tribute, had to cancel the weekend. They were supposed to be headlining our Quebec shows. That hurt the turnouts a bit, but we still had decent shows. We played Bar St. Laurent in Montreal and finished the night with a few Nirvana tunes to make up for Fadeless not being there. We drove to Terrebonne after the show and stopped by at the bar we were playing at the next day. I did some Kareoke and complimented another guys singing... he was later extremely excited when he realized the guy from the poster complimented him. After that we went down to the river. Jamie and Katie crashed and me and Jono stayed up and drank by the river. rent-a-cops showed up and told us we couldn't hang-out in park because it closes at 11. So we drank outside the van in park parking lot all night, and the rent-a-cops hung out at the other end of the parking lot, chatting and making sure we didn't go back to the park I guess. 7am came and people were biking around searching recycling boxes for empties. We gave an old guy a big bag of empties, and then went back down to drink by the river (park was open again). I passed out on the bench, Jon couldn't wake me up I guess. I woke up in the van anyways, so I made it somehow. Found my hat on the bench the next morning, so no harm done.

Went out for breakfast, then had dinner, then it was showtime. Had a decent show, and then crashed in the van. Woke up about noonish in the parking lot, and then headed to Lavaltrie. Again, had breakfast and dinner in very close intervals, and then played a show. The venue was pretty cool, a transformed house of some sort. We played until midnight and then the cops shut us down. Second show we had shut down by the cops. We headed home right after the show, got back in Lindsay around 9am. I accidently slept until 5pm. Then we had a small party to celebrate being home. Steak and bambino. Tomorrow I go back to work and then we have to unload the van. God damn. I have to join the real world again for a couple months and then off to the west coast.
