LAURA BAILEY AND LEAVING FOR THE MR. OLYMPIA EXPO!

Wednesday, February 11, 2009
Honey has been eulogized in the scriptures of every major religion since the dawn of time, but is the "food of the gods" really that good for you? Yes - in moderation. Natural honey is valued for its sweetness, and is chock full of unexpected goodness. Because it's predigested by insects many people who can't stomach cane sugar
can more easily metabolize honey and enjoy its natural energy - so it's almost the perfect food.

Honey is composed of two main sugars, levulose and dextrose. These sugars do not need to be broken down by the digestive process, so honey is quickly absorbed into the bloodstream, giving a quick energy boost
to the body. It also contains protein, vitamins and minerals
, but no cholesterol.

Honey has certain potassium salts that make it a phenomenal moisture absorber and a great killer of germs and bacteria. In fact, honey kills bacteria more effectively than some antibiotics
.

This also helps it draw excess fluid from the blood stream, lowering blood pressure. Honey, if taken on an empty stomach with water and lemon, reduces obesity and weight. Beauticians recommend using it liberally for a glowing complexion and silky hair. If taken at night with hot milk, it cures constipation.

Honey has been used in many medical applications over the years, but recent studies are now able to prove its benefits as a topical antibacterial treatment for burns and ulcers.

Known antioxidant compounds in honey are chrysin, pinobanksin, vitamin C, catalase, and pinocembrin. Unlike most other sweeteners, honey contains small amounts of a wide array of vitamins
, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants, which include a wide array of vitamins, such as vitamin B6, thiamin, niacin, riboflavin, and pantothenic acid.

In addition, honey contains essential minerals including calcium, copper, iron, magnesium
, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and zinc as well as several different amino acids have been identified in honey. Dark honey has more nutrients than lighter varieties. Vitamin and mineral content depend on the floral source of the honey. Honey has less than 2% sodium.

Because of its antibacterial properties, pure honey can be preserved indefinitely.
Are there different flavors of honey?
Single varietal honeys are creating quite a buzz in the gourmet food scene these days, but this trend is nothing new to beekeepers. Honey is a natural product that has always been highly dependent on the local environment in which the bees gather their nectar. Much like wine regions and coffee regions, different honey regions also exist.
For the first time in the history of apiculture, beekeepers are now being encouraged by food connoisseurs to situate their hives in areas that will allow honey bees to frequent one particular plant. The hope is that these insects will then produce a unique flavor that cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world.
Perhaps the first and most popular flavor to be recognized in Canada is Buckwheat Honey, which is a really dark honey with a VERY distinctive taste and aroma. Harvested in mid-August, the buckwheat plant blossoms for about ten days before going to seed in the fall. Unfortunately not many Canadian farmers grow buckwheat anymore, and so this highly coveted product is becoming very rare indeed. When my dad, brother and uncle spy a field of buckwheat that's about to bloom they quickly move a dozen hives as close as possible. Unlike wild flowers that grow randomly in meadows and fence rows, farmer's fields are the best places to harvest single varietal honey crops. Here's a huge concentrated source, and to ensure purity my family will harvest it as soon as possible.
The most interesting single varietal crop harvested in Ontario, Canada has got to be something called Purple Loosestrife. Botanists may be familiar with this plant, which is quite controversial. It originated in Asia and first appeared in Canada about twenty years ago. Since that time it has invaded and subsequently dominated of most of the province's wetland. Natural lovers and bird watchers fear it's destroying the marshes and have organized armies of high school students to pull these plants right out of the ground and thereby SAVE THE SWAMPS. Beekeepers however love this plant - with its roots firmly embedded in the quagmire it always flowers, even in the driest seasons, and it yields a marvelous tasting honey with a very interesting tang - it's a single varietal honey with a complicated taste. When preserved in glass, Purple Loosestrife Honey has a slight green / blue tint.
American beekeepers are proud of their Pumpkin Blossom Honey which is a dark amber-colored liquid with a robust aroma and flavor. And California's Black Button Sage Honey is absolutely excellent when served with vanilla ice cream. And of course the Savannah region's Tupelo Honey is probably the most famous varietal honey of them all.
Harvested over two or three weeks in the early spring, tupelo nectar is one of the rarest and most valuable liquid resources in the world.
Yes the golden age of honey has finally arrived, and North American consumers owe it to their own taste buds to ignore Billy Bee's plastic tubs in the supermarket - cheap Argentinean Chinese honey blends that are practically inedible - and sample a single varietal honey from a local beekeeper in their area.

LIVER CLEANSE:

WOW! this looks really interesting!  What

do you think???  The epsom salt is where I

know I would gag!  I may have to try it

though;) lol.
****UPDATE!!  I TRIED IT!!  READ MY COMMENT BELOW!!!******

Completing the kidney cleanse before cleansing the liver is also recommended. You want your kidneys, bladder and urinary tract in top working condition so they can efficiently remove any undesirable substances incidentally absorbed from the intestine as the bile is being excreted.

Do any dental work first, if possible. Your mouth should be metal free and bacteria free (cavitations are cleaned). A toxic mouth can put a heavy load on the liver, burdening it immediately after cleansing. Eliminate that problem first for best results.

Liver cleanse and gallbladder cleanse flush NO surgery

Ingredients

1/2 CupOlive Oil Extra Virgin  (= 1.25 dl)

1 Big grapefruit (2 small) (Or 3 lemons)

4 tablespoon EPSOM salts =  ( MgSO4 + 7H2O)

(EPSOM salts  = Magnesium Sulphate =  EPSOMITE = Magnesium Sulfate Heptahydrate)

3 cups water (=750 dl)

(P.S .!! 1 cup = 250 ml = 2.5 dl = 0.25 l )

[Comment inserted by webmaster:

You can substitute 3 cups water (=750 dl) (that is used in this recipe to dissolve Epsom salt) with 3 cups freshly pressed grapefruit juice, or freshly pressed apple juice . That way you will not feel unpleasant taste of Magnesium Sulphate
( = Magnesium Sulfate = Epsom salt =
MgSO4 + 7H2O) ]

[If using lemon juice, do not blend juice with oil.
Drink little oil, little juice, from 2 differnt cups.

If you mix oil and juice, it may (it doesn't happens always) sligtly congell, and get a slimy consitence that is not easy to swallow.
It may become slimy.

It never happens with grapefruit juice!]

Choose a day like Saturday for the cleanse, since you will be able to rest the next day.
Take no medicines, vitamins or pills that you can do without; they could prevent success. Stop the parasite program and kidney herbs too, the day before.
Eat a no-fat breakfast and lunch such as cooked cereal with fruit, fruit juice, bread and preserves or honey (no butter or milk), baked potato or other vegetables with salt only. This allows the bile to build up and develop pressure in the liver. Higher pressure pushes out more stones.
2:00 PM. Do not eat or drink after 2 o'clock. If you break this rule you could feel quite ill later. Get your Epsom salts ready. Mix 4 tbs. in 3 cups water and pour this into a jar. This makes four servings, 3/4 (three fourths) cup each. Set the jar in the refrigerator to get ice cold (this is for convenience and taste only).
[ You can substitute 3 cups water with 3 cups freshly pressed grapefruit juice, or freshly pressed apple juice, it tastes better .]
6:00 PM. Drink one serving 3/4 (three fourths cup) of the ice cold Epsom salts. If you did not prepare this ahead of time, mix 1 tbs. in 3/4 (three fourth) cup water now. You may add 1/8 (one eight) tsp. vitamin C powder to improve the taste. You may also drink a few mouthfuls of water afterwards or rinse your mouth. Get the olive oil (ozonated, if possible) and grapefruit out to warm up.
Alternative Schedule 1: Omit the first Epsom Slats dose at 6 p.m. Take only one dose, waiting till 8 p.m. Change nothing else. Many people still get stones with one less dose. If you do not, do the full course next time.  "The Cure For HIV and AIDS" By Hulda Clark pg.585
8:00 PM. Repeat by drinking another 3/4 (three fourths) cup of Epsom salts. You haven't eaten since two o'clock, but you won't feel hungry. Get your bedtime chores done. The timing is critical for success.
9:45 PM. Pour 1/2 (half) cup (measured) olive oil into the pint jar. Add 2 drops HCl to sterilize. Wash grapefruit twice in hot water and dry; squeeze by hand into the measuring cup. Remove pulp with fork. You should have at least 1/2 (half) cup, more (up to 3/4 (three fourths) cup) is best. You may use part lemonade. Add this to the olive oil. Also add Black Walnut Tincture. Close the jar tightly with the lid and shake hard until watery (only fresh grapefruit juice does this).
Now visit the bathroom one or more time, even if it makes you late for your ten o'clock drink. Don't be more than 15 minutes late. You will get fewer stones.
10:00 PM. Drink the potion you have mixed. Take 4 ornithine capsules with the first sips to make sure you will sleep through the night. Take 8 if you already suffer from insomnia. Drinking through a large plastic straw helps it go down easier. You may use oil and vinegar salad dressing, or straight honey to chase it down between sips. Have these ready in a tablespoon on the kitchen counter. Take it all to your bedside if you want, but drink it standing up. Get it down within 5 minutes (fifteen minutes for very elderly or weak persons).
Lie down immediately. You might fail to get stones out if you don't. The sooner you lie down the more stones you will get out. Be ready for bed ahead of time. Don't clean up the kitchen. As soon as the drink is down walk to your bed and lie down flat on your back with your head up high on the pillow. Try to think about what is happening in the liver. Try to keep perfectly still for at least 20 minutes. You may feel a train of stones traveling along the bile ducts like marbles. There is no pain because the bile duct valves are open (thank you Epsom salts!). Go to sleep, you may fail to get stones out if you don't.
Next morning. Upon awakening take your third dose of Epsom salts. If you have indigestion or nausea wait until it is gone before drinking the Epsom salts. You may go back to bed. Don't take this potion before 6:00 am.
2 Hours Later. Take your fourth (the last) dose of Epsom salts. You may go back to bed again.
"The Cure For HIV and AIDS" By Hulda Clark pg.585
Alternative Schedule 2: After taking the first dose of Epsom salts in the morning, wait two hours and take a second dose of the oil mixture (but only 1/2 cup)and go back to bed. After two more hours take another dose of Epsom salts. This schedule can increase the number of stones you remove."
After 2 More Hours you may eat. Start with fruit juice. Half an hour later eat fruit. One hour later you may eat regular food but keep it light. By supper you should feel recovered.

This is a functional health drink used for fighting infection, improves digestion, burns fat and cleanses the liver. (Please, make sure it is the CIDER with "THE MOTHER") this is best to drink first thing in the morning and then again later in the after noon.  If you don't like ACV you can switch it to lemon in your water.. make sure you do it first thing in the morning though.  ACV is the best one if your looking to really cleanse the liver.

2. OOLONG TEA: A powerful anti-oxidant and fat flush drink is also great for cleansing.

It has been estimated by researchers that the liver performs nearly 400 different jobs. It is the body's most important organ, functioning as a liver filter to cleanse the system of toxins, metabolize protein, control hormonal balance and produce immune-boosting factors. Many of these functions are essential to your overall health. My focus is how the liver plays a vital role in weight loss and helps reduce toxicity.

A FAT BURNING MACHINE:
Each day your liver produces a quantity of a yellowish green liquid called bile that emulsifies and absorbs fats in the small intestine. Bile contains water, bile acids and pigments, cholesterol liquids, potassium, sodium and chloride.

This liquid is stored near the liver in the gallbladder from where it is transported to the intestine as needed during digestion. Bile is the real key to the liver's ability to digest and assimilate fats. It can be hampered from doing it's job because of bile nutrients, congestion, or even clogged bile ducts, which hamper bile flow and result in less bile production.

If there is not enough bile produced, fat cannot be emulsified. If you have a roll of fat at your waistline, you may have what is commonly called a "FATTY LIVER". Your liver has stopped processing fat and begins to store it. It is only when you bring your liver back to full function that you will lose this fat. The liver metabolizes not only fats, but also carbohydrates and proteins for use in your body.

The organ plays a triple role in carbohydrates metabolism. First, it converts glucose, fructose and galactose into glycogen, which it stores. Second, when your blood sugar level drops and no new carbohydrates are available, the liver converts stored glycogen into glucose and releases it into your blood stream. Thirdly, if your diet is regularly low in carbohydrate, the liver will convert fat or protein into glucose to maintain your blood sugar level.

The liver converts amino acid from food into various proteins that may have a direct or indirect impact on your weight. Many proteins, for example, transport hormones through the bloodstream. Hormones balance is crucial to avoid water retention, bloating and craving, as well as other health problems.

Proteins also help transport wastes such as damaged cholesterol and used estrogen and insulin to the liver for detoxification and elimination through the kidneys. The liver's most important function and the one that puts it at greatest risk of damage is to detoxify the myriad toxins that assault our bodies daily.

A toxin is any substance that irritates or creates harmful effects in the body. Some toxins called endotoxins are the natural by-products of body processes. For example, during protein metabolism, ammonia is formed, which the liver breaks down to urea to be excreated through the kidneys. Other toxins are the ones you consume by choice such as alcohol, caffeine and prescription drugs.

There are also thousands of toxic chemicals that we breathe, consume or touch in our enviroment (pesticide, car exhaust, second-hand smoke, chemical food additives and other indoor pollutants from paints, carpets and cleaners.).

Under ordinary circumstances, your body handles toxins by:
1. Neutralizing them, as anti-oxidants neutralize free radicals.
2. Tranforming them, as fat-soluble chemicals are transformed to water-soluble ones.
3. Eliminating them through urine, faeces, sweat, mucus and breath. Working with your lungs, skin, kidneys and intestine, a healthy liver detoxifies many harmful substances and eliminates them without contaminating the blood stream.

WHEN THE LIVER IS OVERLOADED. The liver is a work horse that can even regenerate its own damaged cells. However, it is not invincible. When it lacks essential nutrients or when it is overwhelmed by toxins, it no longer performs as it should; hormone imbalance may develop. Fat may accumulate in the liver and then just under the skin or in other organs. Toxins build up and get into the blood stream.

Among the signs of toxic liver are:
1.  Weight gain, especially around the abdomen.
2.   Cellulite.
3.  Abdominal bloating.
4.  Indigestion.
5.   High-blood pressure.
6.   Elevated cholesterol.
7.   Fatigue.
8.   Mood swings.
9.   Depression.
10. Dull skin and rashes.

When your liver is sluggish, every organ in your body is affected, and your weight-loss effort is blocked. Blood vessels enlarge and blood flow becomes restricted. A toxic liver is unable to break down the adrenal hormone, aldosterone, which accumulates to retain sodium (and water) and suppresses potassium. This can raise your blood pressure.

A toxic liver is unable to process toxins, allowing them to escape into your blood stream and set off an immune system response. With repeated assaults from escaped toxins, your immune system becomes overworked. Fluid accumulates, and you may develop one or more auto-immune diseases such as arthritis and lupus. A liver over-loaded with pollutants and toxins cannot efficiently burn body fat and, thus, will sabotage your weight-loss efforts.

LIVER STRESSORS:
Nothing you do to your weight is as important as keeping your liver healthy. This means avoiding as many of the damaging elements (like alcohol) as possible while embracing liver boosters. Among the stressors are caffeine, sugar, sweetners, trans fat, medications and inadequate fibers.

SUGAR: Annually, people consume over 150 pounds of sweetners and another 15 to 20 pounds of artificial sweetners per person. The truth is that most people don't know they are consuming sugar. Food producers don't use it just for sweetening. Sugar helps retain colour in foods; it gives a brown crust to bread and rolls, and adds body to soft drinks.

Ciggaretes, toothpastes, aspirin, even hair spray and postage stamps contain sugar. Sugar, a simple carbohydrate, comes in many forms; not all of which you may recognise in an ingredients lists: Glucoseb. Fructosec. Sucrosed. Maltosee.

Lactosef. Raw sugar, brown sugar, powdered sugar. Molassis, maple syrup, sugar, honey, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrub. Synthetic sugars: sorbitol, mannitol and xylitol, aspartaine (all found in most "sugar-free-gum").

Note that one of the most widely used sweeteners in commercial foods comes from corn, which is is a very sugary vegetable. Its ingredients include such things as corn syrup, fructose, high fructose corn syrub, corn starch, dextose and maltodextrin; thus you are eating and drinking sugar. Start looking at ingredients labels and checking for words that end in -ose to sniff out the sugar.

Be suspicious of anything "NATURALLY SWEETENED". Rice syrup and can juice; they are all sugar. Keep an eye on drinks. The source of most sugar intakes is soda or energy drinks. Try to cut them out including the diet kinds; which has fake chemical sweeteners. And, they could be very addictive. Beware of sport drinks, energy drinks, vitamin waters and iced teas. They can be dangerously high in sugar.

NOTE:
Do not substitute artificial sweetener for real sugar. The chemicals found in saccharin, aspartaine and sucrolose can often be worse than the sugar itself. Aspartaine (found mostly in diet sodas and energy drinks) is a chemical that has been linked to neurological disorders, brain tumors, liver problems and serious diseases.

Using artificial sweeteners can disrupt the body's appetite regulatory system, which is expecting a rise in blood sugar from the sweet food but not getting any evidence that nourishnent is happenning. Sugar contributes to early aging and wrinkling, and is amongst the number 1 liver stressors. In the process of sugar being metabolized, they rob your body valuable nutrients. Some of these such as zinc are essential for liver function. Sugar also inhibits your liver's production of enzymes needed in the detoxification process.

You look at it every day and wish it would just go away; that little pouch below your belly button that keeps staring back at you. You do crunches, sit ups, the works, and yet there it is just "hanging around." There are all sorts of cute names for it: snack pouch, spare tire, love handles, and the list goes on. All you know is that you want it gone.

The American Council on Exercise calls the bicycle one of the most effective ab exercises out there. This exercise is one of many that should be completed as part of a lifestyle change which includes both diet and exercise. Just doing ab exercises all day will not get rid of the excess fat that you have around your waistline.

The following four areas of diet and exercise will help you gain the toned, flat stomach that you are craving.

1.

Fat Intake
How much fat is in your diet? The American Food Pyramid says that a healthy diet is one that "Emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat milk and milk products, includes lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts, and is low in saturated fats, trans fats, cholesterol, salt (sodium), and added sugars.

Following the food pyramid will help you find the fats you need in good foods like nuts and plant oils as opposed to potato chips and ice cream. You should be taking in less than 30% of your caloric intake from fat so check your labels when you're purchasing packaged products. Many products now have the trans fats listed as well, so you can see which percentage of fat belongs to which group; saturated, non-saturated, trans, etc.

2.

Carbohydrate Intake
Maybe your friends were on lo-carb diets and were amazed at the weight they lost. Maybe you tried one too? Carbohydrates are amazing in that each molecule attracts four water molecules to it and they hang out together inside your muscles. When you start decreasing the amount of carbohydrates you take in, you start to see weight loss in the form of fat loss. Oops, I mean WATER loss. No more carbs means no more four molecules of water hanging on, means lower numbers on the scale. Carbohydrate intake is essential for brain activity as well as muscle function. Our bodies feed off of glucose and glycogen which is supplied directly by carbohydrates. Eating whole wheat and whole grain is the way to go- stay away from white products; rice, pasta, bread, etc. Brown is best. Carbohydrate intake should be no more than 65% of your diet.

3.

Cardiovascular Exercise
Running, cycling, swimming, aerobics; they are all using oxygen and so the prime energy source comes from muscle glycogen and fatty acids. The furnace is on and it's burning fat. You may have heard that cardio is good for burning fat, and that is true. Cardio exercise should be done for a minimum of 20 minutes and hopefully for longer and should be done at least three times per week, hopefully more. According to the American Council of Sport Medicine, "If weight loss is your major goal, participate in your aerobic activity at least 30 minutes, for five days each week.

"
You can't melt fat off of one area specifically, but it will come off over the whole body in time. We all lose fat from different places first. Just remember that cardio is a complement to the diet and the floor work that will also do.

4.

Floor Work
Abdominal exercises were once believed to be something we could do everyday. We now know that the abdominals are like any other muscle and they need time to recover and rest.

Floor work is an essential component in getting a toned tummy. There are four main abdominal muscles that we can work: the rectus abdominus, which runs from the sternum to the pubic bone, the transverse abdominus which runs horizontal all around the torso connecting near the spine, and there are the obliques- internal and external which run alongside our ribs in opposite directions.

Exercises:
Hip lifts:
Lye on your back with your legs straight up in the air. Keep your back pressing into the floor and think about tightening a belt around your waist. Slowly pull your belly button to the floor and as you do so, feel your hips lifting gently off the floor as your legs are lifted. Do not lift with the legs, but instead with the abdominals. Repeat 10-15 times.

The Plank:
Facing the floor, get on your hands and knees, keeping your shoulders over your hands. Straighten out your body and keep your toes on the floor. You should be straight like a board with your abs pulling in tight. Breathe in and out naturally. Hold for up to one minute. Repeat 4-5 times.

The Bicycle:
Lye on your back with you knees bent. Slowly pull your upper body off the floor and support your head with your hands. Activate your abs by pulling your belly button to the floor and release any pelvic tilt. Take one shoulder and turn your torso to face your opposite knee. Go to the other side. Think of riding a bicycle as you turn slowly from side to side. Repeat for 20 repetitions.

Double Leg Drop:
Lye on your back with your legs straight up in the air. Keep your back pressing into the floor and think about tightening a belt around your waist. Keeping your abs pulled in at all times, slowly drop your legs toward the floor, keeping them pressing together. If you feel your back begin to arch, pull your legs back to the starting point. Inhale on the way down, exhale on the way up. Only go as far as you are comfortable with and go slowly. Repeat 10 times.

Diet, exercise and supplementation are the only ways to get to your goals and they need to become part of a new lifestyle if you're going to maintain the body you want. The combination of diet, exercise and supplementation is the "SECRET". There is NO "MAGIC PILL" ! You must apply yourself.
