Hey everyone,

I feel like I've been in hiding for the past couple of months, so I thought it was time to give some sort of update about new jams, events, and general news.  Here we go:

First off, I was lucky enough to be asked to do (dare I say model?!) the "Self Styled" section for Antenna Magazine's new summer issue.  I felt a little out of my element -overwhelming amounts of cool shoes, suits, pants (a pink pair...yes I friggin' wore them. when else are you gonna get to wear this stuff? I'm broke!), shirts, and jackets.

Antenna is a really eclectic magazine that covers "the newest and coolest products on the horizon." Find out more about them here: www.antennamag.com.
*Special thanks to Kaity Velez for letting me be a part of the issue, and to Jenni Lee for helping me make sense of all the amazing clothing I got to rummage through.

Second: As many of you know, I've been working on my first full-length album for the past 8 months or so.  For these songs, all the recording was been done at THUMP Studios in my neighborhood -Greenpoint, Brooklyn.  Richard, Cole, and Steve at THUMP made this one of the best recording experience I've ever had.  We started out with 20 songs but I finally worked my way down to 9 that worked well together for this record.
Now that the recording is done, it's on to cover-art and layout.  The end is very near!

The Album Release show/party is scheduled for sometime in August.  I'll keep you posted on the date.  For now, you can check out one of the new songs from the album, "Do Your Thing", on my Myspace page: www.myspace.com/zhurd.  Stop by and check it out when you get a chance.

And finally! I'll be playing my biggest show yet on July 21st at The Canal Room in NYC @ 7:45pm .  I went to this place last year and hoped to get the chance to play there someday.  If you're going to be in town I would love (and kind of need) to have you out for this one!  The more the merrier!  Bring friends and enemies.
I'll also be accompanied by some talented guests, so it's going to be a really fun show. Here's the info:

Tues, July 21st
The Canal Room, Doors @ 7:30pm
285 W. Broadway at Canal
NYC

Hot damn! That was a long one! If you're still here, thanks for baring with me.
Thanks again for your support, listening to the music, coming out to shows, remaining Facebook and Myspace friends after no news, and for being damn good peoples.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!
Check the new song when you can.
*New website on the way too.
Ok, that's it. I'm done. Promise.

Hey everyone,

First of all: Thanks again to all of you who came out to the CD Release show at the Bitter End on April 2nd!  I also really appreciated all the kind messages and emails from those of you who weren't able to make it out.  It was definitely a night I won't soon forget.

As you probably already know, I've posted a couple of songs from the new EP on my page.  If you haven't already stopped by to have a listen, please do.  Unfortunately (and fortunately I suppose) I've sold all the copies of the CD that were made for the release.  Right now I'm finishing the design details for the larger order of copies.  The CD should be available for purchase at my shows in the next week or so.  You'll then be able to buy it online -and on iTunes, Rhapsody, etc.- soon after.

I'm really happy with how these songs came out.  Most of them were older ones that I had written before moving to NYC.  But I think the production ideas that James Dellatacoma, Ralph Gould, and myself came up with helped bring each tune to a different place. *You can check out James' and Ralph's company, Music Club Studios, by going to www.musicclubstudios.com.  They specialize in recording, duplication, web design, and lots of other crap that's far beyond me.

Thanks for continuing to support the music.  I'll be sure to let you know when the CD is available.  Until then, hope to see you at a show soon!

Hey everyone,

Thanks for stopping by to check out the new songs.  Because the songs from my studio EP/album still aren't ready, I've been working on some new stuff in my apartment.  My page has been pretty stagnant over the past few weeks, so...

I'll also be posting some upcoming NYC shows soon, so keep an eye out for those.  If not, I'll just bulletin the hell out of them

Hope you're all doing well, see you soon!

-Zach
