Camarillo High performance of our Rock Band Workshop

We've scheduled a battle of the bands to occur at Rock City Studios in Camarillo, Ca.
(Address: 2258 pickwick drive  Telephone: 805 383 3555)  Sign ups will be throughout the month of December till the 31st.


The first elimination rounds will occur through January and February. The winners of these nights will move on to the final round.  Then the top three of the final round will get some goodies including playing a super bill together w/ special guest bands.



During the month of December bands that are interested in competing (Anyone from the 805 area including santa barbara and north as well as some exceptions such as westlake/agoura) can sign up either through this Myspace (Viceroy) or at Rock City Studios in person.
There will be a $10 entrance fee that will be due by the close of the month regardless of if you signed in person or via myspace. This pays for miscellaneous costs such as promotional cds, the creation of flyers, paper for flyers, tickets, wristbands and more.



During the beginning of January we will begin to assemble dates with certain bands based on different criteria such as the time you entered, style, etc. You will be informed promptly so you can begin advertising accordingly and acquire your pre-sale tickets.

January 30th
February 6th

FINAL ROUND TENTATIVE DATE
March 6th

SUPER BILL SHOW TENTATIVE DATE
March 27th


In order to be eligible to move on to the next round your band must sell at least 15 tickets for the night. If you don't sell the fifteen tickets you can still play the show but will be eliminated from qualifying to move forward.
   


Judging Criteria

Ticket Sales
This demonstrates your ability to promote yourself as a band and to take yourselves seriously about the business aspect of the industry.


Showmanship/Talent Ability
This entails everything you do on stage from the creativity of your music, to appearance, to being properly in tune, crowd interaction/interest, and any other goodies you may have to display for us when the limelight's yours.


Professionalism (Behind the scenes)
Everything from how you conducts yourselves, treat everyone who works at the venue to how you treat the other bands. Being punctual and prepared is also in this category.


Judges Vote
There will be a panel of judges at each show. For the final round we are coordinating an extra special panel of "celebrity" judges.


Crowd Response
We have a decimal meter so our ability to judge crowd response is legitimate and unbiased.



***The final round will be judged in the same way but we will have a celebrity/guest panel that will be judging.


Each judge will have a sheet and these sheets are available for the bands to look at after the competition.
We want everything to be fair and for you to understand the way in which we judged and how we came to our decisions :)

*****I will be making cds & flyers will be provided just like they have been in the past.  If you want flyers/cds to pass out & help for promotion then feel free to get a hold of me.  After-all that's what your entrance fee is paying for so utilize it.
