Hello all!

After finishing off the amazing ‘Shadows & Light’ tour in May, Lior is now taking time over the next few months to write material for his third album, however he hasn’t disappeared off the radar altogether – you can still catch him at a couple of one-off shows…


JUST ANNOUNCED - Lior @ Astra Lodge, Falls Creek
In August, Lior will be performing a series of very intimate shows at the beautiful Astra Lodge in Falls Creek, VIC. Designed to only fit 100 guests, this is your opportunity to see Lior in an extremely rare setting.

The shows will be on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th August and will feature Lior performing solo – bringing you songs from both ‘Autumn Flow’ and ‘Corner of an Endless Road’. Tickets are $50.00 and are on sale now from: www.lior.com.au/astra.html.

For those of you in Sydney who missed out on seeing Lior perform on the ‘Shadows & Light’ tour – you have one more opportunity to catch the show. On September 9 & 10, Lior will be performing with the Tailem String Quartet and the amazing shadow artists Stephen Mushin & Anna Parry at the Sydney Theatre Company’s Wharf 1. The profits from this show will be going towards Youngcare – a charity dedicated to providing housing for young people in need of full time care.

Global Poverty Project
Eight Millennium Development Goals were developed in 2000 with the objective of improving the lives of the world’s poorest people by 2015. Since then, we have made great gains, however despite that, 1.4 billion people, roughly one-fifth of the world’s inhabitants, continue to live in extreme poverty.

The Global Poverty Project is a new organisation designed to create a unified movement of people around the world, by presenting a feature film and presentation (similar to that of “An Inconvenient Truth”) that will help create awareness and in turn help towards the ultimate goal of the eradication of extreme poverty.

Lior has recently become an ambassador in The Global Poverty Project, and will be performing at the International Launch, which will be held in Melbourne this Saturday, July 4th at the University of Melbourne, Parkville.

Due to the success of the recent Shadows & Light tour, Lior has decided to present a one off collaboration in September with the Sydney Theatre Company to raise money and awareness for Youngcare – bringing the shadows screen out once again and donating the profits of the show to a very worthy cause.

The show will be on at the Sydney Theatre Company Wharf 1 Theatre on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th September. Tickets are available now through the Sydney Theatre Company Box Office– www.sydneytheatre.com.au / 02 9250 1777.
 
This unique concert experience will feature a stunning visual collaboration that combines beautiful and moving shadow artistry with Lior’s spectacular vocals and music.
 
Lior will be performing songs from his two hugely successful albums, Autumn Flow and Corner of an Endless Road, alongside guest performers the Tailem String Quartet.

"The Shadows and Light tour was one of the most fulfilling and inspiring experiences in my career thus far, both artistically and also in the way it seemed to resonate with the audience. At the time of wrapping up the shows, I was invited to the Sydney Theatre Company and I remember looking at the performance space thinking… Wow, it’s like this room was built for the Shadows and Light concept.

Around about the same time, I was contacted by a charity group called Youngcare and became very interested in the work that they are doing for young people who are suffering and require round the clock care in suitable and dignified conditions. I am always inspired by young people who are committed to helping other young people in need. They approached me about doing a show to raise funds and awareness. It seemed that all the stars had somehow aligned and that the natural thing to do was to pull out the Shadows and Light show one more time later this year in a beautiful setting and for a very worthy cause." Hello everyone! Well the Shadows & Light Tour is now over, and what a tour it was! A massive thankyou to everyone who came out to the shows - you were all so lovely, and amazing at clapping in time...

A big shout out to Stephen Mushin, without whom this show could never have worked. The shadow puppetry element of this show was the main reason why it was such a huge success - he is an extremely talented man, and also possibly the loveliest human being on the face of this Earth.

Now that the tour is over, Lior is going to start writing material for his third album, so he'll be going into hiding for the next few months, but we've got a few more exciting things lined up for the end of the year, so make sure you're on our mailing list for details!

Also, just a quick note to let you know that although I'm the one writing bulletins and taking care of general myspace updates, Lior does read this page regularly, and he does try to respond to as many messages as he can!

But if you do have a specific question for Lior, we are doing a Q&A blog in the next week or so. If you have a question for Lior, send it through as a message and in a couple of weeks he will pick a handful of random questions and answer them in a blog.

The next mail out will be early next week, with some more info about how the tour went, as well as some exclusive pics! So until then, ciao!

Lior is back in the country after a very successful tour of the UK [Sold out in London and Edinburgh Fringe Festival…amazing] as well as New York and LA. Lior went down very well and has plans to head back to NYC again.

ARIA NOMINATION!!

In other news, Lior has been nominated for a 2008 Aria Award for Best Independent Release for his album "Corner Of An Endless Road". This is Lior's 6th Aria nomination and just proves that independent artists can make a big difference in the Australian music scene. The ARIA awards are at Acer Arena on Sunday 19th October.



"MORNING OF THE EARTH" TOUR

Lior is also taking part in the "Morning Of The Earth" tour, performing in Sydney in September, and Melbourne in October. "Morning Of The Earth" was an iconic film made in the seventies, by Albert Falzon, which defined the genre of surfing films. This tour will see the original film and music live on stage. Musical guests are Lior, Old Man River and Mike Rudd.



The tour will hit Sydney on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th September at the State Theatre, and Melbourne on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th October at the Palais Theatre. Tickets are available from ticketmaster.com.au or by phoning 136 100.



MAKE POVERTY HISTORY

The Make Poverty History 2008 'Stand Up Against Poverty' Campaign is delighted to announce the introduction of 5 high profile Australians that will become the first official Make Poverty History Ambassadors. Lior, Rove McManus, Missy Higgins, Zoe Naylor and Brooke Satchwell have all pledged to "Stand Up" against poverty, and will take a public stand for this great cause.

Some great news - Lior has been invited to be a part of one of the UK's most
celebrated Festivals of the arts, set in one of the UK's most beautiful
cities, Edinburgh. Lior will be playing 2 shows at the Famous SpiegelTent on
the 13th and 14th of August at the Edinburgh Festival. These tickets won't
be around for very long at all - we recommended you get in quickly.

This is in addition to Lior's fast selling out Australian 'Corner Of An

Hello there,

We thought we'd let you know about Lior's up and coming solo tour of Australia a few days before the official announcement next week.

Having just done a big theatre, big city run - Lior's jumping back on the road to present just himself, solo and delivering his songs in their true form...just him and the guitar. He's visiting a lot of cities that he's never been to before, which will be great for one and all.

Lior is not so slowly becoming well known as one of Australia's finest live performers. If you want to come along to these intimate performances check the details below.

Lior will be touring throughout June and July - but we have only announced the JUNE shows. Stay tuned for Lior's JULY dates as he hits regional Australia.
