Sometimes when I see Jason I want to kick him in the shins. I'm sure the feeling is mutual. But mostly we really like each other!  Yesterday marked the 17th anniversary of our wedding and we spent a quiet evening at home, sitting on the couch, laughing till our faces hurt, gorging on tons of junk we bought at the store and playing Paper Mario. Doesn't sound that exciting a way to mark such a momentous occasion but this is the stuff a lasting relationship is made of. Simply enjoying each other's company. And we do. Still. Next year, maybe Mario Party 8.........  :)

Seems to be a bit of confusion about the state of Missionary. Missionary Promotions has been around for years and will continue to be around indefinetly. We do promotion work in the Pacific Northwest. A while back we brought in a wonderful guy that was doing national tour booking for a host of great bands. He has recently decided that he needed to find a less-full-time way of accomplishing his goal. Thusly, Missionary Music Management, not to be confused with Missionary Promotions, is no more.  Jim (the wonderful guy in question) can now be found at Mass Movement-USA and will still be doing booking in a less-full-time capacity.  Jeremy (Adamnation, great Missionary friend) will be joining him there to help take the load off. They will continue their always professional services there, and we ours here. The work will overlap from time to time and we look forward to that!  Here's to good friends, great tours and superb music! :)

Things have been really tight in the Missionary world lately and it's been rather depressing.Yesterday I had to walk my son's paper route with him because he's been getting in so much trouble he can't even be trusted to do that. I left the house grumbling and non too happy about it.Didn't take but a few minutes before he started chatting about each neighborhood cat's daily routine and I quit grumbling and started listening.I saw houses I've never noticed, learned about neighbors I didn't know I had, and listened to my son softly singing that new Dave Gahan song none of our family can get out of our heads while he went about his business. The best part was walking down a fully tree-lined street that had turned completely red and kicking leaves. It was absolutely beautiful. And I'm glad I went. Sometimes it takes having nothing to do before I realize what I HAVE had all along.Maybe I'll go again tomorrow......

Reader's Digest moment over.Back to your regularly scheduled programing.... :)

"...And when you tucked yourself in for the night I undid the seams and let out all the poison"

Dust is Noise is on tour with Accessory in just under 2 weeks. Yes Accessory is going to kick industrial ass but Dust is Noise are absolutely the ones to watch. They have been a very close favorite of Missionary for some time for so many reasons. Take a few and check them out. Comprised of the same talent behind the powerhouse "Alter der Ruine" DisN stands completely on it's own. With their new sound and new album discover why Dust is Noise will now dominate an entirely new genre.

Dust is Noise was put forth from three bodies that loved synths, stories and music that makes people move. Those three elements provide the backbone for the ever growing creature that is Dust is Noise. The group continues to beat itself into new areas of sound and production, often generating a unique sense of style and personality that is tied directly to the individuals behind the bleeps and pulses.

"now this is industrial @%!*ing dance music!"

    "a knock-you-on-your-ass live performance!"

"Accessory attacks relentlessly with full electronic force!"

"hands down one of best US tours in our scene this year"

                "my legs hurt!"

"old school, new school, these guys bring it"

Yes Accessory is returning to America AGAIN for a second tour promoting their newest double CD release of "More Than Machinery".   Experience the fully modernized interpretation of EBM that is Accessory.  Experience why it was America demanded they come back for a second tour.

This time they're bringing along friends Dust is Noise straight out of Arizona.   Fresh back from their N. American tour as Alter der Ruine [yes that's right ADR!] the boys are at it again.  DisN embraces an angle of ebm we've yet to experience but have been waiting so damn long for.  Remember, ADR went from "little known" to household name in about 2 seconds with their last tour.  They have no plans to be letting us down with Dust is Noise.

New to the scene, Missionary artists [syndika:zero] have erupted with their genre bending version of IDM, Industrial and hard edged electro all wrapped into their violent passion for performing.  Don't stand to close to the stage, they'll get ya!

All of this happens in just a few weeks.  June 23rd.  Get your tickets right now.  For the best price you'll buy them in advance from Corrosion Records in Portland.  They are located here.  If you cannot make it, no worries.  Tickets can be purchased at ticketswest.com.

One word to describe the event?  Energy!

Well, it's official! Missionary has their very own hater! To us, this is fantastic news! Let me tell you about it.....

Someone has taken the burden upon themselves to alert all the club promoters we are working with for an upcoming tour about the evils of Missionary. This saves us an extraordinary amount of time.Getting into the long conversations of why we sacrifice babies at the start of every show can be soooo time consuming and explaining the chains and shackles in the green rooms can be awkward, at best. Not to mention the invisible ink that CLEARLY states we get to keep ALL the money.....

No, seriously, we believe this means we are doing our jobs. Making waves, making noise and shaking things up a bit. Obviously someone feels threatened by our activities and would like to see them squashed. Too bad for them, really, as this scene has more than enough stuff happening for everyone that cares to, to jump in.We know who this individual is and simply don't care. Fire away. Our honor shield's intact. No publicity is bad publicity,eh?

At first it bothered me that our integrity was being questioned. But we, and anyone who has worked with us or knows us, knows better. Kind of reminds me of the supermarket rags that show a supermodel in a bikini with one single curd of "cottage cheese" showing. Must be a fabulous ass to get that kind of press, huh!?

So that's us. Missionary. Fabulous Ass!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Name: Jason and Rebekka Eidsvik, Jim Scholl

Web: Missionary Promotions / Missionary Music Management

cold_AZ forges strategic alliance with missionary promotions to offer comprehensive promotional and tour management.

Portland, Oregon, April 16, 2008 / Requiring bookings in the NW, Mike Treveloni [Alter der Ruine], took a referral from Tom Shear [a23], and made contact with Missionary.

This move brought their management, COLD_AZ and NW promoter Missionary Promotions within sight of each other. COLD_AZ, possessing a developed US venue network with a growing artist roster and Missionary, delivering what's been described in our scene as "best of class" artist promotion, both quickly realized that combining these talents would fill a needed void in America for the ebm/industrial artist.

So, on April 9, after many emails and phone calls the deal was made. It was mutually agreed upon that they come together under the Missionary brand. Cold_AZ joins Missionary as Missionary Music Management, and continues successfully clearing the path through the financials, transportation, tour routings, etc.

All this dressed with first class promotion allows their artists to stay focused on what they do best, making more music!
Together, as a team, they look forward to meeting your tour management and promotional needs.

This is genuinely flattering.  Bekka and I have always said that we must be persoanlly behind the bands we host through our city.  We’re not a promotion machine.  We want to be just as excited about seeing the show as we are about all the hard work that goes in to putting them on.  You guys we’re new to us but have certainly grabbed a top spot now with Missionary.  We hope for great things in your future and look forward to being a part of it.

The feeling is Mutual guys....
