It’s finally here!! My 2nd annual cancer fundraising event, Operation Give Life, will take place on July 18th @ Room 960 in Hartford, CT with myself, Randy Boyer, & Tritonal. One of the great things about this event this year is that even if you cannot attend the event, you can still be a part of this night & make a difference. This year we have set up a websitehttp://operationgivelife.o..rg where you can donate any amount, large or small, from anywhere in the world!

Every day over 1,500 people in the United States alone lose their battle against cancer. The goal of OGL is for DJs and music lovers from all over the world to join the worldwide fight against cancer for one night of extraordinary entertainment. Last year I raised over $1600 and this year my goal is $2500. Donating is extremely easy & secure, so please take a moment of your precious time and visit the OGL website, and donate now: http://operationgivelife.o..rg. Thank you in advance. What better community is there to come together to make a difference than the global trance community…

**** Important: For those who are attending (21+), You must get on the guest list and here is how: To get on the guestlist, make a donation of at least 10 dollars athttp://www.operationgiveli..fe.org. (Think of this as buying a ticket). You will receive a confirmation e-mail once you have donated to reserve your spot on the guest list. This way, you will pay nothing at the door the night of the show. You are welcome to donate more than $10 dollars if you chose. This donation must be made by Friday July 17th.

Hey everybody!!!

The latest Darude album, 'Label This!', should be now available all around the world in the digital download stores like iTunes, Beatport, etc. It's about time... The next single of the album is in the pipeline to be promoed to radios as we speak. Yeah, it's one of the track in my player, so you all are well ahead of schedule when it comes to my radio releases... ;)

We're also working on getting the first track of a side project of mine, a collaboration between 2AM Project and me, released very soon. The song is called 'Crazy World' and features Georgia as singer and sounds like current Darude spiced up with great emotional and summery and definitely hooky vocals. Keep you eyes and ears peeled!

During the last year I've remixed several tracks of which the following are released at the moment (more to come):

Kenneth Thomas feat. Betsie Larkin - Stronger Creature [Tetsuo]
Randy Boyer & Kristina Sky feat. Cari Golden - No Limit [Ultra]
Alex Kunnari - Eternity [ITWT]

You should check them out if you're hungry for some energetic, melodic and emotional trance. Any speeding tickets gotten while listening to my remixes I can't be responsible of... ;)
All the singles are available in various digital stores and all of them have several great mixes to choose from for your listening pleasure, or for your sets if you're a dj.

Right now I have some time off from touring, but I'll be back on the road in October. In the meanwhile I'll be remixing some more and working on some new Darude material, too, or at least going thru gazillions of samples and new sounds in preparation for the new tracks. I'll also be preparing to put out the first ever Darude Records Digital releases, and it looks like now that the first release will be one of two tracks by my good friend Weirdness, but I'll info more on that when it's time.

What do you expect from Darude next? What would be cool, what would be needed, what would be outrageous? ;) Feel free to comment here, or come to my website Darude.com and give me feedback, and sign up to the friendly forum! I can also be found on Twitter.com/darudevil, Facebook Darude group and YouTube.com/darudevil in case that's what tickles your fancy!

See ya!

Ville/Darude

PS. Rather randomly below are pics of me with two awesome people, the great dj Taj from San Francisco and my Las Vegas correspondent Holliewood... Hugs and kisses to you guys if you happen to read the blog, I hope to see you soon again! :)

Alrighty then, here's a little recap of the tour. All you Finns reading this, I know it's a little backwards for me to write it in English, but I want other people than Finns to know how it was as well, and most of us can read English perfectly, so here goes:

Seinäjoki was the first stop on the tour. What a first night... The line outside was really looong still after midnight and the place was jam-packed with nutty party people from all walks of life as the city had had a city festival and everyone and their mom and grandma was out partying. This mixed, and rather drunk I might add, crowd proved to be a fun-loving and reactive, so I couldn't have asked for a better start! I found a clip.

The Oulu gig was off the hook! From the first track, or actually even before it, the crowd was noisy and energetic, they were with me all the way in a way that once again made me believe in electronic dance music fans in Finland! I bow to you, I can't wait to come back soon! Keke and the other djs have taught their crowd well!

In Kokkola the Friday night crowd was happy and they knew their dance music (and moves!) and I had a blast, which wasn't really a surprise, but I hadn't played in the city in a long time, and I haven't played at Ilon Talo there, so I didn't know what to expect. I should've known better... A great night with a lot of smiles and excited screams, and definitely the most drink offers I've gotten in a long time! :D

Ilon Talo in Pori didn't look too promising early on, but dancefloor filled up little by little, and by the time I started it was pulsing with energy and Otto F had prepared them ripe for me. The party turned out great, and my night was made even better, if possible, by some old classmates of mine who came to meet me, and we got to catch up for a good bit. The only thing I regret is that I didn't have a chance to go to the sauna-afterparty I was invited to by them...

The second tour week was started by a gig at Giggling Marlin in Jyväskylä. I've played in Jyväskylä several times and loved it every time and I'm happy to report that they've still got it, they showed me a great time! Ali spun good stuff for the early crowd and warmed them up nicely. The booth is small and we had a couple of laughs brushing shoulders while he tried to control the lights while I was all over the place, spinning and dancing a notch too excited :D On the tech side, the sound was one of the best on this tour. Antti from Findance.com also graced the night with his presence, and I did an interview with him for the site.

The Tampere gig was very much fun, I saw a lot of friendly faces and new faces in the crowd, and the party people took my set really well, enjoying the melodic breakdowns and taking off with the build-ups. I had so much fun with my buddy and VJ Weirdness and the resident, Baker, who I've met the first time, also in Tampere, around 2000 when I was just beginning my career. After the gig I was greeted with a nakki (=wiener) gift card by DaNakkiPosse, and as I was rather hungry I gratefully used the gift card around 4am right after we left the venue, we went to the nakki booth with DaPosse and I got my five nakkis from Mikko-the-nakkisalesman and enjoyed them thoroughly! :)

Next stop was Lahti, the feared Chicago of Finland... ;) (right...) This was the school-ending and graduation weekend, so there were tons of white-hatted party people and they partied like there's no... err... like there's a better tomorrow, and it seemed they would've done that whether I played techno or jazz! I was fine with that, it was a good night, and it was fun to visit Lahti again, it's been a while. Had a good chat with the resident dj, Ton-e, what a nice guy, and he spun some really good tunes before and after me.

Imatra's famous rapids had to be checked out, and the zipline over the rapids had to be tried out (hanging upside down of course) before the amazing night at Onnela with my friend (and a resident Onnela dj) Anselmi. He spun great house and electro, got the crowd going and hyped up, so my job was easy, I just spun great music and danced with the sea of white hats (again) and had a couple of good laughs thinking of my own graduation day... I don't know what's in the water there near the east border, but these people love their dance music whether it's known or not, new or old, and the ladies want autographs in the strangest places... GOOD TIMES!

Last stop on the tour was the Royal Onnela in Helsinki. Sundays in Helsinki can be good, and this one was really REALLY good! Weirdness-da-VJ was there to do his visuals for me and my buddy Alex Kunnari was the opening and closing dj and boy did we all have fun in that small booth! The Helsinki crowd was nutty, they gave energy to jump around eventhough I was rather tired this being the fifth night in the row of spinning AND travelling. One highlight of the night was Randy Boyer & Kristina Sky's 'No Limit' (Darude Remix) breakdown and build-up with pretty much all the hands up in the air and the blissful smiles, and then the take-off with the roof flying miles offfffff, everyone jumping in unison. Perfect!

A huge thanks to all the djs I got to play with during the Finn Tour Spring 2009, I appreciate the kindness and professionalism you guys showed!

Thank you, and you, and you, thank all of you who came to see me and party with me, it was so amazing to play "at home" again, it's been a while, I loved every second of it! I saw many old friends of mine who I haven't seen in a long time, and it was great to catch up. Also big thanks to Onnela, Ilon Talo and Giggling Marlin staff, it's a pleasure to work with people who know what they're doing.

One of the biggest tracks of the tour, and my current personal favourite, was Gareth Emery's 'Exposure'. That melody just gives me goosebumps every time, and it seemed to do the same for many many others, too. Weirdness' - 'Morning After' quite in the beginning of my sets worked superbly, too, the build-up made people go bananas everywhere. I can't wait to get it released and to other djs to play it! :)

Tonight, Friday the 5th of June I'll be in Toronto at the Courthouse, and tomorrow, Saturday the 6th I'll be in Leesburg, IN, at Tippy Dance Hall! Check it out!!!
