Nelson Poblete
Nelson Poblete, Chilean by birth and spirit but Catalan at heart, declares himself -proudfully- as a songwriter. He knows he is part of an ancient tradition, that of the ones who tell tales, since the beginning of the world, with their words and their music. And Nelson Poblete tells us his own stories while we inmediately recognize them as part as ourselves. He sings with a voice that makes you feel and a guitar that seduces everybody.
'The thirteen songs in 'Drunk Windows' are thirteen windows opened to different experiences in his life. Eleven songs in Spanish plus a wonderful ballad in Catalan (La Noia De La Mar') and a cover, sung in French, from one of his masters, the Chilean songwriter Osvaldo Rodriguez ('Ballade Pour Mon Pays'). Tales and stories with music that tell us about strawmen who end under the shore waters, about ghosts from the Spanish Civil War in Barcelona squares, about love affairs between sword swallowers and bearded women, memories from his ancestors or loves that one thought had forgotten. Echoes of Fellini and Fairport Convention, of Serrat and Brassens, acoustic passages and circus sounds...music and emotion in the end.
After a lot of years living in Barcelona, playing almost daily in the Park Güell and touring across Europe in full theaters, themoment to have all this potential translated into a record has arrived. All this journey as a modern trobadour is shown in this masterpiece, released by Batiendo Records, a record label interested in searching and finding quality above every other consideration. All those people who still believe in the communication power of a song as a concept itself, all those people who still have the capacity of feeling suprised, touched or amused when listening to a record, all those people...as Nelson himself sings in one of his verses: 'come in to watch our best show'
.
You're all invited and you won't repent...
Nelson Poblete can play live in different formats, acoustic or electric, solo or with his band.
