Northwest Junior Pipe Band, the only youth pipe band from the US going to the World Pipe Band Championships in 2008. This is their first place performance at the Skagit Valley Highland Games. On Sunday, they placed first again, winning the Washington State Championships.

Northwest Junior Pipe Band Grade 4 placed 1st and won Best Drum Corps at the BC Highland Games on June 28th, 2008.  The first time the band has ever placed first in a sanctioned competition, the band competed in a class of 7 bands.

A remarkable competition season has come to an end. 

2 first place finishes for the Grade 4 band, 4 first place finishes for Grade 5 (EVERY competition entered). 

2 first place finishes for the Grade 4 quartet. 

NWJPB Grade 4:  2nd place in the Grade 4 Washington State Championships at the Skagit Valley Highland Games.

A first place finish for the Grade 5 drum fanfare, and a 2nd place finish for the Grade 4 drum fanfare.

NWJPB Grade 4:  2nd place at the Portland Highland Games

Several Solo piping "Aggregrate" wins, and one Grand Aggregate for Grade 4 victory by a solo piper in NWJPB.  Information on these awards is available on the BC Pipers Association website.  Most promising pipers in Grades 4 and 5 at the Tacoma Games.

And, we've raised half of our goal to send the band to the World Pipe Band Championships in 2008!

We've got some competition results from the season we're particularly proud of this year we thought you should know about.  We've got one competition left before our season comes to a close at the Whidbey Island Highland Games August 11th, the same day as the World Pipe Band Championships.

1st place in Grade 4 quartets out of 7 entries at the Pacific Northwest Highland Games.

NWJPB Grade 4:  2nd place at the Portland Highland Games

NWJPB Grade 5 1st place in every graded competition (Bellingham, Skagit, Pacific Northwest/Enumclaw).

NWJPB Grade 4:  1st in Quartet and Band competitions at the Tacoma Highland Games

NWJPB Grade 4:  2nd place in the Grade 4 Washington State Championships at the Skagit Valley Highland Games.
