Well, last night in Baltimore was a blast as per usual at the Barclay House, unless you're allergic II cigarette smoke, speaking of which we have been asked & agreed to do a 7 day stint on an Anti-Flag tour from January 29th to February 4th. These shows is surprisingly cheap compared to what I had imagined would be charged ($16) but still a bit out of my personal show comfort zone ($3). Anyways we've posted the dates & just wanna mention that we usually don't tour in the winter, but we've made an exception for AF as they have been good friends over the years. We're playing Boston on that tour & I'm writing this because we really want people to show up to our show next weekend & when we return with the Flag & 3 other bands we will probably be playing a very short set (25 minutes) as opposed to the 45 minutes to an hour that we play at our own shows, like the ones coming up this weekend at the Middle East & Club Hell. I must also apologize in advance for Club Hell not being an all-ages show. We, & when I say we, I mean Bill Cashman, was led to believe that it was an all-ages show & only found out a few days ago that it is in fact 18 & up. We have always avoided non-all-ages shows at all costs, but it's too late for us to cancel this one, so if you are under 18 & wanna catch us we suggest you catch a bus or something to Boston, though I warn that the Boston Tix will run out very soon though, so purchasing in advance is your best bet, especially if you are coming from out of town (not that Providence is very far). We're also looking to get a show for this Friday in Hartford, as the Middle-East show is at 1pm or something crazy early & we will be driving to sleep in Hartford, so we figured we might as well play a show while we're passing through, so let us know if you can help out. And please come out to these last couple of shows. If you want us to come to your town in the future, you gotta come out now, otherwise it makes it a lot harder. Biggest pet peeve ever: when I play a town on tour & then get a bunch of messages within a few days (usually) to a month asking why we "never play in my town" & "when are you coming back to this town, I just found out about your band...". If you just missed our show in your town, do me a favor & don't write us immediately asking us to come back, it doesn't make us wanna come back sooner, it makes us want to come back LATER, to give everybody time to contemplate what they want from us. I'm rambling. Come out & go to a show, support live music, especially your local D.I.Y. spaces, they might not last forever like Gilman or ABC & when they're gone you're gonna miss the fuck out of them. See you in the pit, from the bar, where I'll be drinking without spilling my booze, Strg & SFH

Come on down to the Ava house for our last of four shows this year. I think it's in South Philly y'all, the info is up here somewhere. If you're coming down, have a fun time, it is a house show, so please try to respect the neighbors so that we & they can have more shows in the future. I promise that we will be posting new pics up here including my current favorite: me & Frank with a baby Koala & a Sock-Monkey in Australia (It's Star Fucking Adorable! [No animals were hurt in the process of the photo-graph...]) But also pictures from our video-shoot for "3,000 miles away" which we should have up somewhere soooooon. more details T.B.A. (To Be Annonced for all of those that thought that was just a really popular band that gets to play everyday all around the world...Lucky Bastards!). And next weekend: The Barclay House in Baltimore, where we will attempt to learn "Tarzan Boy" by the legendary Baltimora! And on a last, but not least kind of note the following weekend (the 12th): Boston!, the city, not the band, at the Middle-east (upstairs), those tickets will go fast, so we suggest advance purchase for those about to rock! allegedly Rock that is... & finally the next day will be in Providence if you have a way of getting there, it'll be different sets, so we can have a star fucking weekend together! That show should be a nice year end capper to our (or rather my) non-stop touring & recording since March fuckn' 4th in Seattle where SFH played our kick-off show this year (& on my B-Day non the less!) with Snuggle, our buddies... We were so young (maybe not me) & innocent (not really either...sigh...) with no idea we'd have a whole record finished by July for a Cracktober release... Too Right, Australia & New Zealand send their regards & I promise, this week, to write a full story/blog about the now infamous "924 Gilman St. S.F.H. Vomit Incident". I was just hoping to have video evidence to co-oberate one of my favorite tour stories of SFH history. Just think in terms of the part of that movie "Stand by Me" when the story about the pie-eating contest is told by the camp-fire, it wasn't exactly that off the hook, but it's a true life version of a similar incident during our song "Two Cups of Tea" at said club... Love, Strg Crackle Pop! P.S. more stories aboiut Oz & NZ to come as well....

Current mood:Down Unda' Mate!
Hey we have the first two weekends available for shows within, I'd say a five hour drive (tops) from NYC, Cashman is/was hooking these up, don't know where he's at, but if you want us near any of the two (boston, Baltimore) shows in December, nows the time to speak up I suppose.... We have those two weekends set aside for our final winter shows until the big thaw that is our lives in spring.... S.F.H. P.S. if you write us about playing texas or florida (I'm exagerating) or anyplace we're not trying to play right now, we will never play your town again, just like Connecticut or Long Island or New Jersey or Rhode Island, ya know? Places near us that we can take china town buses to...

I'll have to tell the story if we can't find somebody willing to put up any footage from our show at Gilman where we was playing two cups of tea & some nasty stuff happened. It will hopefully become legendary, but maybe not... I'm gonna be looking on you tube for Star Fucking Hipsters Gilman vomit, post it if you got it... strg

This is a song I did with a guy named Josh Gura who lives in Scandanavia now (I think). It has only been available from a benefit comp. that I put together in 2003 named "Against Police Injustice" from my bascally non-existant label Non-Commercial Records. Only 300 were printed & although it ended up costing me thoiusands of dollars that I never tried to get back, it was a really great & forgotten Comp, maybe we'll try to reprint it if I can find & get permission from all of the bands... Colin from Conflict scared me out of getting it distributed because of a past comp that went sour & a lot of people don't know exactly where the money went & Anti-Flag/A.F. records helped me a hell of a lot in putting it out (I might still owe them a few bucks....), so somebody out there has a copy, maybe I can post it for free, it's got Conflict, Nausea, M.D.C., Born/Dead, Against Me!, Anti-Flag,World/Inferno, Kylesa, Bouncing Souls with about 15 more bands/songs including the original version of "Super Tuesday" recorded with Joe from Skarp (also on the comp.), Brad from F-Minus/L.o.C. (also on the comp.) & Sascha from Choking Victim (a.o.t.c.)/the Icarus Project (an organization started by Sascha that's not o.t.c.) & many more really good & charitable bands. So I thought that this would be a nice place to make it available.... I'll try to post the whole thing somewhere soon... thanks for nothin', Strg

You could've heard our live BBC punk show session as a podcast for a week only up until the 19th. You would've gone to: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/mikedavies/index.shtml & heard us play 3 songs live & myself (a dude, boooo! Hisssss!) talk about the importance of women in punk (actually that part of the interview is being saved for the "women in Punk episode to be aired next week possibly (at 9pm EST on the 26th, 8pm central, 2am GMT, etc...)? & other stuff... But the thing gets yanked on Sunday nights or sometime on Monday & will never be aired again.... But, I believe they are playing our 4th tune on this weeks show, so check out the podcast through the link above if you care... Sturg

....
aka a "Cracktober to November" with S.F.H.,
Citizen Fish, Molotov Compromise & many great local bands including special
shows with Christ on Parade (reunion kick-off show) & Alternative Tentacles
30th anniversary with the Guantanamo Medical School (Jello Biafra & his
co-conspirators) & MIA (with their original vocalist together in memory of
& after the tragic death of their singer last year).
.. ..& to be continued from November 12th to 20-something-ith
with Leftover Crack on their first tour of Australia & New Zealand.
Upside-down & Sideways Down-Under on our first ever voyage to the Southern
Hemisphere...
visit starfuckinghipsters.com ,
myspace.com/leftovercrackofficial
& this myspace site for info & dates... & for the Locals of our hometown of NYC please come out & join us for our record release show for our new full length "Never Rest in Peace" at Europa in Greenpoint, Brooklyn 6pm on October 25th with Degenerics, Death Mold, Rabia, Wombat in Combat & Zero Content. Plus Sturg aka Stza will be performing acoustic in Philadelphia on Oct. 17th at the Terrordome (we'll try to post the address soon) with 14 other bands & solo musicians including (off the tops of our heads): Wingnut Dishwashers Union, Yula Beeri & Whack to name a....uh-three. And last but not (maybe) least, we will be having a "listening party" at 11:30pm 10/19 on the eve of the release of "Never Rest in Peace" at our neighborhood bar: Teneleven on avenue C between 10th & 11th streets with live performances by some form of SFH acoustic & Popeye (acoustic as well) which coincides with Bill Cashmans 20-something-eth birthday, so bring him presents maybe & keep in mind that this will be one of the very few 21+ events we will be involved in. We should have copies of the new record on Vinyl (w/mp3 download cards) & the ultimate hi-fidelity format of this digital age; Thee Compact Disc, a disc so small & efficient it can barely fit into the pocket of your so-called hooded sweatshirt, I believe the kids call them "hoodies". This modern "compact" disc is the cutting edge in sonic technology believed by "many" to be virtually indestructible. So come one, come some. We'll be there all night (unfortunately for the daily worker). So cum suck on the fumes of the crack-rock-steadiest tunes this
side of the New Jersey state line! Love, S.F.H.
