Top 10 reasons YOU should be at Churchill's this Saturday, Sept 1st for it's 28th Birthday Celebration:
10. Charlie Pickett, The Holy Terrors, Jim & John Camacho, DT Martyrs, Mr Entertainment, Rat Bastard, Mongo, Curious Hair & many more surprises
9. Dave's newest venture, "Churchill's Beanery" now up and running...Vente Carmel Macchiato anyone?
8. Friendly Churchill's parking staff, headed by chief valet Vernon "crazy eyes" Jefferson will make sure your car is well attended to.
7. Momentous occasion assures coverage by all of the major South Florida Music/Entertainment publications (Jake Cline's parents said he can go as long as he car pools with Piccoli & Sweeney, and he can even stay out 1 hour past his curfew because it's a Saturday night and he's a big boy)
6. Dave's colorful tales of how he "used to book Black Sabbath and how that Ozzy fellow was a 'wanker' and a 'right git'" never get old.
5. Little Haiti's many historical landmarks and quaint shops invite you to come early and make a day of it. Be sure to bring lot's of change to tip the locals, and be prepared to have the cleanest windshield in town!
4. Special performance by John Mayer doing a sultry, bluesey rendition of Happy Birthday at midnigh...wait, sorry, that's Jessica Simpson's 28th birthday.
3. Scenic drive down to Churchills provides a great opportunity to preview the latest fall fashions modeled by local area prostitutes.
2. Sumptuous Carribean and Latin American cuisine provided courtesy of 'Bongo's Cuban Cafe' and Gloria & Emilio Estef...sorry, Jessica Simpson's party again.
1. And the Number One reason to attend Churchill's 28th Birthday Party Celebration this Saturday...sloppy hugs from Mr. Daniels himself!

Current mood: productive
Hey, the City Link Music Fest is back where it belongs...beautiful downtown Ft Lauderdale! Friday, Nov 17th is the date. But you're probable thinking, "man, there's so much going on that night, how can i be sure to maximize my enjoyment of the festival and not miss out on anything?"
Well, don't give it a second thought. Simply print out this handy guide, and you'll be on your way to a fun-filled night of music, mirth and merriment. You're welcome.
5:30 PM: Yes, arrive early to be sure and get a prime spot in one of the many over-priced parking establishments. Remember, your parking dollars help keep Himmarshee...Himmarshee. Make your way directly inside REVOLUTION by
6:00 to catch Los Diablos in all their country-punk glory. Be sure and offer to buy Mark Dubin a drink. He will politely decline, but make a mental note that you already owe someone a drink. You'll want to stick around inside because at
7:00 Dooms De Pop takes the stage. Now, pint-sized heartthrob Garo is a great guy, but he can very quickly get on your nerves (trust me on this), so at about 7:15 rush out of REVOLUTION and make your way over to THE POORHOUSE because at
7:30 none other than your pal Rob Elba proves once and for all he's not just a singer...he's a song stylist! After Rob's set you will most likely want to congratulate him on another stellar performance and tell him how his songs have changed your life, but a much better idea will be to simply buy him a quick drink (the one Dubin turned down) and hurry back over to REVOLUTION where at
8:00 Map of the Universe has already started. Don't worry that you missed the start of the set...they take a while to warm up (two words: stage fright). Stay for a few songs but then you'll have to quickly rush back to THE POORHOUSE because at
8:30 Rob Coe is up. While you're enjoying Rob C's set, you can also use this time to shower Rob E. with all the praise and accolades you wanted to earlier, and buy him another drink or two. After Mr Coe's set you can now make your way at a more leisurely pace back over to the REVOLUTION outdoor stage (it should be noted that during your journey back and forth between the two clubs you may notice an extremely drunk individual either vomiting or passed out in the bushes...this will be Dan Sweeney)
10:00 Humbert. I know what you're thinking, "I've seen Humbert a bazillion times, couldn't I just stay at THE POORHOUSE and buy Rob Elba another drink?" Well yes, we've ALL seen Humbert a bazillion times; but dammit, they're a great bunch of guys and it's fun to see all four of them in Broward County at the same time. Stay for about a half hour, and then get your ass back over to THE POORHOUSE (step over Mr Sweeney please) by
10:30 for The Bikes. While enjoying the band you may notice a fresh-faced, bespecticled young man who looks an awful lot like Jake Cline milling about the club. This is NOT Jake Cline; it is after 10:00 PM on a Friday night...he's home, asleep. At around 10:55 get some toilet paper from the bathroom to shove in your ears because you're heading back over to the inside stage at REVOLUTION by
11:00 for Trapped By Mormons. After your ears have been appropriately assaulted you may want to mosey out onto the street for a quick bite to eat at one of Himmarshee's charming little bistro's. Listen closely and you might hear the colorful proprietor muttering under his breath about how "Hollywood can HAVE this 'crap fest' next year!" Make your way back into THE POORHOUSE for one last round (don't forget Rob) and at
12:30 catch I Am Stereo and close the night out at
1:30 with Kill Miss Pretty.
Well, there you have it. Please keep in mind that there are MANY OTHER bands playing the music fest that night. Feel free to deviate from this schedule if you so choose...aside from being at the Poorhouse by 7:30 sharp, which-due to stringent guidelines set forth by Ft Lauderdale mayor Jim Naugle-is mandatory. Drive safe.
