"growing as a person is like riding a bike uphill, you have to peddle the whole way, you can't stop or you'll fall, you can't turn fully around or you'll end up just giving up and riding back down the hill.. but when you get to the bottom.. well... you're at the bottom again.

anyway, you keep peddling, even when you run out of breath, even when you can't feel your teeth, when your muscles ache and your sweat flows like water spouts.. even when you're dehydrated and you're so hot you feel moments away from heat exhaustion or even stroke, you keep peddling and you keep going until you reach the top.. except with personal growth there is no top.. it's just all uphill.

and you ask what's the point in all of this? the view.

even if you can't turn around to actually see it, you know it's there.

and even though you think there must be a top, and towards the top is the direction you are headed, you're never really trying to get to it.. you're just trying to get away from the bottom."
