The celebration of National Homebrew Day, known as BIG BREW, is now in its 12th year, and will be held locally by the Cincinnati Malt Infusers on May 2, 2009. Organized by the American Homebrewers Association (AHA), BIG BREW celebrates National Homebrew Day, honored each year on the first Saturday of May.  BIG BREW brings together thousands of homebrewers from around the world, all brewing the same beers simultaneously – over 3,000 homebrewers from North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, South America and Australia are expected to participate this year.

The Cincinnati Malt Infusers and Donauschwaben Society home brewing clubs will be joined by the Bloatarian Brewing League at Donauschwaben. The Donauschwaben site is registered nationally under the Cincinnati Malt Infusers as site #35 with the American Homebrewers Association. BIG BREW begins at 9:00 AM and will run throughout the day into the late evening. Come by for yourself and see how you can make your own delicious craft beers! We will have a large number of homebrewers making beer throughout the day, you are welcome to come and watch or join us! This event is free and open to anyone of legal drinking age with an interest in craft beer and homebrewing. There will be some live “how to” demonstrations, as well as a collective toast at 1:00 PM with participants at other sites across the nation. You may bring homebrew or a craft beer selection if you wish!

Donauschwaben is at 4290 Dry Ridge Road in Colerain Township. Here is a link to its location:

We will be located to both the rear and right of the main building. If you need more information, please contact the site director at 513-304-4763 or by email at cmnase@yahoo.com. We hope you come by and join us!
