Recently, I’ve been getting a lot of questions from my clients about what online marketing strategies they should really be focusing on.

There’s so much hype going around these days that it’s hard to know which strategies deserve your time and money. I also notice that even when entrepreneurs do know which strategies and technologies interest them or help them gain traction with their target market, they often don’t know where to start.

Between article marketing, press releases, audio podcasting, video podcasting, viral video submissions, ebooks, teleseminars and webinars, it would be easy for you to go nuts before you could master all of these strategies and the technological learning curve that comes with each new one.

Well, I would like to share with you a simple way to leverage many of these strategies without having to generate any new content or spend months learning new technologies. It’s a tactic that all successful marketers use and in many cases, it is what separates those who struggle and those who make a massive impact on the world.

Join me for a free teleclass next week:

Overview: Treat your business as an art form while saving time and generating income with audio and video marketing and product creation strategies.

Transcription:

Are you as passionate about your business as a musician is his or her music or a painter his or her paintings? If you're not, you might as well stop reading now – but if you truly care about your business, you must treat it as art.

In school, I once heard this quote:

"Art is everything except things inherently necessary to survival and procreation."

In this sense, a caveman running from a tiger is not art. Climbing into the tree to escape the tiger is not art either, but the moment he realizes he has outsmarted his hunter and mocks the tiger with a taunting face or gesture from his perch – that is art.

In this very same sense, your business is art. Sure, it brings in money and affords you the ability to eat, have shelter and otherwise provide for yourself – but going into a business for yourself wasn't purely an act of survival.

Think about it – could you physically continue living is you had stayed in your job?

Going into business was an act of art because it went beyond the basic needs and genetic programming of survival and procreation. You went above and beyond the bare essentials to create the life that you wanted and to fill a need in the world – much like a painter or sculptor creates based on creative desire.

For this reason, it only makes sense to be as dedicated to the needs of your business as the artist is his or her work.

As a budding musician in high school, I remember saving up and spending my last dollar (literally) on a new Gibson Les Paul guitar. It felt good because I knew that tool would help me in my artistic endeavors for years to come. There are plenty of painters who eat top ramen just so they can afford art supplies.

Here's the big difference between you and the starving artist – you have the ability to make your investments pay off, big time! Most musicians and artists will never see a dime from their time and money spent on their art and they are perfectly happy just creating it. You have the advantage in this situation because as long as you invest wisely, it can pay off over and over down the line.

So - by now you're probably thinking, what does this all have to do with audio and video anyway?

I've met so many business owners who are afraid to invest in new marketing strategies or to create new information products because of the initial cost. What they fail to see is that in order to make great paintings, you must buy new paint every once and a while.

Here are a few things you can invest a little bit of time and money in that are sure to result in more profits and more free time in the long run.

  1. Teleseminars: Stop working exclusively one-on-one and interact with your prospects and customers. You can record them too and have them transcribed for easy product creation and content repurposing.
  2. Audio Information Products: These are so easy to create, it's not even funny. In a matter of hours, you can put a new information product together.
  3. Podcasts and Blogs: These are easy to create and manage and can help you gain web traffic, credibility and new audiences. Podcasts are especially useful because they help your prospects and customers get to know you more intimately.
  4. Viral Video Marketing: Repurpose video and audio that you already have or create marketing videos and distribute them to the top video sites. People are literally becoming famous these days without even having to leave their homes.

Did any of these suggestions overwhelm you? Or perhaps you barely even know what they are. Remember, you only have so much time and you can't be expected to do it all yourself.

That's why so many entrepreneurs have turned to us to outsource their audio and video marketing and product creation needs. We've done the research and we already have the best tools so we can guide you through the process of implementing these new marketing and product creation strategies. It's easier and less expensive than you think.

What is streaming media anyway?

Well, according to Wikipedia,

Streaming media is multimedia that is continuously received by, and normally displayed to, the end-user while it is being delivered by the provider. The name refers to the delivery method of the medium rather than to the medium itself. The distinction is usually applied to media that are distributed over telecommunications networks, as most other delivery systems are either inherently streaming (e.g. radio, television) or inherently non-streaming (e.g. books, video cassettes, audio CDs). The verb 'to stream' is also derived from this term, meaning to deliver media in this manner

An example of a streaming media outlet you might be familiar with is YouTube. All the videos on YouTube are streaming videos. If you're listening to this podcast with the player directly on this page, you are listening to streaming media.

The reason this is so important for you and your online presence is that the web is changing. People are bombarded with thousands of advertisements and messages every single day even if they don't turn on the TV or Radio. If you don't put any effort into it, the web can be a pretty boring place too. If you want your prospects and customers to get to know you better, the best way to rise above the chatter is to put your voice or a video of yourself online. This can be in the form of a welcome message on your site, audio or video testimonials, demonstrations of your products or services, or syndicated media like this podcast.

There are a lot of options out there when it comes to streaming media. For video, unless the content is something you want to keep from the general public (like an actual product people are paying for) the best way is usually just to use something like YouTube or Google Video to host your video. The reason for this is that video takes up a lot of space and bandwidth and if you can host it for your free on someone else's' servers, you should take advantage of it. If you exceed your bandwidth capacity on your hosting account, your whole site can go down.

For audio, file size and bandwidth isn't as much of an issue, but it still comes up a lot. Some of the most popular solutions for streaming audio are monthly programs. They charge you a monthly fee, usually between $20.00 and $40.00 and you can host you audio in your account with them. These services are fairly easy to use and allow you to create streaming audio and sometimes video players as well as some other features depending on the specific service.

The reason I don't usually suggest these services anymore is because for the price of one or two months in one of these program, you can buy power streaming audio software that allows you to create your own streaming audio players. You host them directly on your site so you have complete control of them. When you use those monthly programs, they put arbitrary monthly bandwidth limitations on your account and if you exceed them, you audio stops working. Generally, even with inexpensive web site hosting accounts, the amount of bandwidth you get greatly exceeds what you would get with the monthly streaming audio programs.

The best, most reasonably priced and easiest to use streaming audio software I have found is Impact Web Audio. Impact Web Audio allows you to create unlimited streaming media players in an array of shapes, sizes and colors. You adjust the quality of the audio playback to fit your specifications and you can even have a new page open up after the audio is done playing. The greatest thing about it is that once you purchase it, you own it and you don't have to keep pouring money into a monthly membership program. The thing about those membership programs is that if you ever change your mind and want to cancel your account, all of the streaming media players you have online become inactive, creating a ton of work for you in the long run. To avoid this mess in the future and to start easily creating streaming audio players, check out Impact Web Audio. It's satisfaction guaranteed and it's all for the price of about 2 months with on of the leading subscription-based streaming media options available online.
