sonic youth vs. the bible...

i just made friends with some who will be sharing the stage at "the YardSale of the Century" and then i notice their lead song is "the legend of Faggot Freddy" or something similar. rest assured y'all we will not be friends for long.
My friends no matter who they choose to sleep with  are always my top priority. i will not tolerate stupid anachronistic bullshit!!

Mister Voxius (aka Aaron Brown) first attempted serious songwriting back in 1992, in a Bingham Street basement in Pittsburgh with the members of Elias Khrone. Here were three guys who had just discovered Jane's Addiction, Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins but grew up listening to everything from Rush and AC/DC to Paul Simon and the Kingston Trio. The 1992 cassette only release Elias Khrone featured the shift workers nightmare "The Slow, the Quick and the Crazy" with lyrics by Aaron, a song that was re-recorded in 1995 by Stitchmonkey and included on the Elias Khrone CD Theme From… of 1998.
In 1999 Aaron started writing the songs that would become Psyclotomis Rex, the one and only CD release by Voxius. With members of Hepcat Dilemma and a former drummer of Elias Khrone, Voxius songs like "The Peeler" became crowd pleasing favorites, and the band found itself gaining fans of their original "elastic" acoustic rock sound throughout the Pittsburgh area. In 2001 Voxius appeared at the Three Rivers Arts Festival, an annual Pittsburgh event that included acts like Sonic Youth and Wilco. Voxius also appeared at Three Rivers in 2002.
When Voxius disbanded abruptly in 2003, Mr.Voxius started writing and arranging songs for solo performance. "Make Money At Home" is based upon the strange incident of finding a Tarot card on the sidewalk, and speculating how it might be used for advertising purposes. A former Voxius favorite "Milk and Joy" is a personal story of self realization. The songs that now make up the Atroxius EP started to come together in early 2007. "Guess your Weight", "Awn the Lon" and "A Hole" were all written while living in Oklahoma. Since moving to Muskogee in 2006, Mr.Voxius has been maintaining a presence on the web, and staying in touch with fans in Pittsburgh and around the world through MySpace and Soundclick.com. Most recently, Mr. Voxius has performed as part of the Bare Bones Film Festival in Muskogee.

Hi all the MySpacers,
I have been working since last summer on a new musical release, which I’m now calling "Mr. Voxius: Atroxius". Consisting of 6 songs never before recorded, it is all but completed and should be available on CD or download sometime in April. Owing to my weird isolation in Oklahoma, I sang lead and backup, played bass, guitar, keyboards, elmo toy, and can full of rice. My wife lends a special touch on "Make $ @ Home". Tracklist below:

I wrote this song at 930pm on new years eve. I just got back from a wonderful trip where I hung out with long lost cousins, met up with old friends, met my 1 year old niece, stayed in an awesome hotel with my wife, and ate christmas dinner over and over again. I decided 2007 needed a tribute. so heres mine. love ya, everyone. enjoy

I'm going to leave the MM song up for about another week, after which I will make my new song available. The new one is part of an album concept I was writing when Voxius ended called " The Birth of Screaming Nina". This particular song was intended to be sort of a keystone between two more significant pieces. So by itself it seems a little detached. But I'm really happy with the way it came out and I hope you enjoy it as well. Look for B.A.N.G.N.I.N.A. on thursday or friday coming up.

Soooo..., my latest entry is a cover song. Am I violating copyright law? who knows. I look at it as an original translation of an existing work. Amd even more important, I'm NOT selling it.
