....Probably spend wayyy to much time thinking about/analyzing/coveting gear , if I spent that time working on songs - I'd probably be better off.

I'm not listing this stuff here to try to sound "cool" or whatever - I don't have "high end pieces"... I just always find it interesting to know what was used in a recording a particular recording....

Anyway, here is the list of stuff I've aquired over the many years I've been on earth...I would always rather have a killer song idea floating around my head than a piece of gear - anyday 8).

For the money my favorites are the GT 67 mic and the Focusrite voicemaster pre-amp - you can get a very listenable vocal track with that combo.  Also, the focusrite vmp sounds great on bass (imo).

If you are a musician and recording junkee and have any recommendations on affordable but killer sounding gear - I'd love to hear about it.
