We all have music in us!

We are hitting the road to teach beginners to play and sing, harmonizing community around the country.

The "Ukalaliens Songbook: A Beginner's Guide to Ukuelele Fun" teaches people how to play the uke by singing songs they love to sing and play to.   Play along with Kate Power & Steve Einhorn live in the workshop or sing along with the recording it comes with.

Thanks to Kala Ukulele for providing tenor ukuleles to lend people who want to learn how to play the uke and don't have one yet.

From the hills and streets of rural and urban America, Kate Power & Steve Einhorn will drive town to town harmonizing community with music concerts and Ukalaliens Songbook Workshops to show people how to make beautiful music with everybody on the ukulele.

The "Ukalaliens Songbook" workshop is for absolute beginners!  Once you start, you won't want to stop.  New Ukalaliens have been known to start uke circles to gather with their uke friends on a regular basis to keep playing once they get started.  You can do it too.  Great for all kinds of people in all kinds of settings.

The "Ukalaliens Songbook" is coming.  Ukalaliens sitings abound!  Join the uke movement and grow your musical side!

Booking Shows and Workshops on Tour in the USA and UK.  All inquiries welcome.

We are traveling west to east: Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Washington DC, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alaama, Louisian, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, north to home in Oregon.

Ukulele isn't the only thing we'll be playing.  Kate & Steve will be performing in concert on all of their instruments; guitars, banjos, ukulele with a lot of songs to sing to.

Harmonizing Community.  That's Quality Folk.  Please visit our Ukalaliens and House Concert page to find out more about booking Kate Power & Steve Einhorn and the Ukalaliens Songbook workshop.  Thanks for visiting Quality Folk.

Ten years ago, Steve and I tied the knot on Valentine's Day.  That celebration marked the beginning of a decade traveling a road full of music, family & community. We are grateful every day for the people who surround us with support and encouragement wherever we go.  Each of our children inspire us with hope for the future as they take the reins of their lives and ride.  The little grandchildren bring us back to glee as we watch them grow.  Friends and strangers urge us on and we continue to open new doors and forge ahead. As citizens of one of the greatest grassroots cities in the country, our 30-year old love affair with Portland continues to deepen and grow. Old dreams & new routines keep the rudder moving our little boat forward.  Home.  One day to the next urging us on into the songs, art and stories waiting to for us to uncover and share what we find, bringing them to the table when the time is ripe.

It was a dark winter.  The rain has stopped.  The hummingbirds have returned.  The old  faithful Christmas cactus resisting its bloom for the first time this winter has suddenly burst into bud with a full head of pink tips reminding us that sacred rhythms spin new flowers from old roots and we turn our faces to the sun...
