From fellow LUMPIA artist JANICE ARANAS:

HI EVERYONE!

Just wanted to ask a huge favor from everyone! I've entered one of my original songs in a contest hosted by star 98.7 (a radio station here in So Cal). The winner of the contest gets to have their song on a CD along with other recording artists (not to mention a nice cash prize)! I would truly appreciate your support and would LOVE having one of my songs on that CD!

The first round of voting determines the top 10..and then another vote next week determines the winner. Only ONE vote per email allowed...so if you can help out....I'D APPRECIATE your VOTE very much! Feel free to forward this to ANYONE who might want help and vote. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Spread the word please!

Love you guys, JANICE

Dear LUMPIA Lovers,

Thanks to you and our online sales from July 2007, we were able to
raise some funds on behalf of the World War II Filipino Veterans
seeking full equity. Now, watch the result in this EXCLUSIVE
premiere of our first PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!

Read on for the details...

FULL EQUITY NOW!
The Filipino Veterans fight for equity has been one of the major issues
impacting our community for a long time. We first touched upon this
issue in our Black Eyed Peas music video "The Apl Song" in 2004.
What you may not know is that the veterans are currently very close in
finally attaining that goal. Last month, the Filipino Veterans Equity Act
was voted out of committee in the House of Representatives (HR 760)
and the Senate (S 1315) and is now awaiting floor votes.
SO they still need your help!!!

In response. Kid Heroes Productions has funded and produced a public
service announcement on behalf of the National Alliance for Filipino
Veterans Equity (NAFVE).

WATCH THE ONLINE PREMIERE NOW at:
http://www.kidheroes.net/fullequitynow

This 35mm filmed public service announcement features veteran
FAUSTINO "Peping" BACLIG, who also made a cameo appearance
in "The Apl Song". The release of this video spot coincides with the
efforts of the National Alliance for Filipino Veterans Equity (NAFVE) to
spread awareness in this final push to pass the bill.

"We're so close, we can taste it. We hope this public service
announcement can reach out and mobilize our community. We need all
the help we can get to make history by passing this important legislation
on behalf of the brave soldiers who came before us as part of the
'Greatest Generation' who fought in WW II," says Ben de Guzman,
NAFVE National Campaign Coordinator.

"FULL EQUITY NOW" was created with assistance from donations and
sales made in July 2007 through our online store. As usual, our
dedicated LUMPIA crew donated their time and efforts to make sure
this public service announcement happened.

Spread the word and share the video with your friends and family.
The
NAFVE represents over 20 local, national, and international organizations
committed to securing full equity for Filipino World War II Veterans.
More information about NAFVE and the Filipino Veterans Equity Act is
available on the NAFVE Web site:
http://www.nafve.org
There you can find
more information on how to donate and how you can help
support the cause!

If you remember our video THE APL SONG, you all know how passionate we are over this issue. I urge you all to take a few seconds just to call this number TODAY. I called and it was pretty simple. The lady already said she was flooded with calls and she's keeping a tally. Believe me, your one call can make a difference. Get your friends to do so as well...

-PG

Today is going to be historical day in where you will have made a difference. The House Veterans Affairs Committee will mark-up the Filipino Veterans Equity Bill.

Mark-up is the process in whether this bill will live and/or die. IF passed today and with your involvement, the House will move the bill to the House Floor.

(The Senate VA Committee passed a similar amendment)

(202) 225-9756

Ask them to do the following:

1) Support Full Equity for Filipino Veterans (HR 760)
2) To continue to look for Offsets--Funding so that our FilVets get the justice and compensation they deserve

The VA Committee is tallying all the calls it receives. Let's duplicate the call centers of the Philippines here, by creating your own phone banking operations into the VA Committee.

This is the time for your voice to be heard.

According to their letter, the California Preservation Foundation bestows
this honor upon the Black Eyed Peas for using the music video "Bebot:

generation to an important part of Stockton's history and culture.

Peas, the Little Manila Foundation and Mr. Patricio Ginelsa. We laud
each of you for using music videos to educate and promote the history
