It's been a while and you might have noticed we've had a nice little break but that's over now. Time to get back to work, so here's a little update of what's been going lately. After yet more ridiculously shocking auditions we are pleased to announce we have finally found an awesome new guitarist. His name is Marc, you'll be seeing much more of him very soon. We're confident we found the right guy this time so we're very excited to be back on track (finally.......again). We have also now finished building our very own studio/practice room so we can now get back to actually doing stuff again! We actually finished it before christmas but we've only just got a nice rug for the floor so now its officially finished.....well i say that.....it wont be properly finished til we get a beer fridge back but that shouldn't be too long. It's fully soundproofed so we can play as often as we like for as long as we like just like back in the day when we used to be good! We've already been writing like manic cunts so its allllllll good. Which brings us onto the next hot topic of discussion...... Our new EP! Wars Within The Mind Are Fatal........PART II! That's right knobbers! All the music is now recorded and the vocals are expected to be completed by the end of the week. Artwork is also nearing completion, so we should have some more updates coming ya'll ways very soon indeed. We've also started booking shows again. So far we're playing a nice local home town gig at the Star in Guildford (for Fatal Enclosure - the only decent monthly metal shindig in Guildford) and we've also just been confirmed to be headlining gay pride festival in Brighton in the summer! It's @ The Hobgoblin on 1st August. 9 bands in total, gonna be a BBQ and all that shit so come down for some sun sea and BOOZE. We are still however on the lookout for a new bass player tho so if you are one or you know one then sort it out. Thats it for about now, if that doesn't keep you happy and entertained then i dont know what will. x

We are very excited to announce that our 2nd EP is underway. We now have all the instruments down and ready to go for Lee to get in there to do his thing on vocals. We wanted to keep this under raps as we wasn't sure how long it was going to take and didn't want to drag it out.
It will be the 2nd part to our 1st EP 'Wars Within The Mind Are Fatal ' and will have all the same characteristics as the 1st EP but bigger and better. So if you liked the 'Part I' your gonna love 'Part II'.
The Artwork is almost done and looks sic as fuck and we are hoping for another 7 track EP to sink your teeth into. We had to many songs to put on the first record for it to be called an EP so we decided to spread it over 2.
That's all the info we can give you for now but as soon as we know more you'll be the first to know.

Breedapart - Wars Within The Mind Are Fatal
Hardface
Rating - 9/10
Review John Consterdine

In this patriotic society that we live in, it can sometimes be hard to find a UK metal band who are able to fly the flag for the British scene. However Breedapart may just be one of the bands that help the cause and become one of the true saviours of UK metal
Opening track "Unjust Martyr" feels like you're having your head kicked in by the immense dual guitars and the blistering drum beats. The sound Is hard to describe, its like a mix between Pantera, Hatebreed, Divine Heresy and Machine Head but, instead of trying to be a cheap copy of these bands, Breedapart stand tall with their own individuality, they have something about them that makes them truly unique.
"Wars Within The Mind Are Fatal" displays vocalist Lee Tilsbury's varying skills as he goes straight from a melodic cry to a guttural, blood curdling growl without even flinching. As for "Shattered" it is loaded with machine gun riffs, blast beats that could tear a hole in your chest and pounding bass lines.
To follow up the brutal assault there is also the brief melodic interlude that is "The Destroyer of Worlds" before the "Apocalypse" truly begins. Sounding like Chimaira if only they had Tim Yeung behind the kit, blasting you a new set of ear holes. Mixed into the already boiling metal pot are some In Flames-esque melodic breakdowns.
Finally rounding things off with "Neurotic Trigger" and "Fight For Blood", the latter seeming almost like the Exploited on crack. For those of you who have lost faith in British Metal for whatever reason, invest in a copy of this EP, it is up their with the classics, it could just be the next "Powerslave" or "British Steel"!

Breedapart - Wars Within The Mind Are Fatal EP (Hard Face Records) Review by Steve Green |
 |
I got stuck in horrendous traffic in Sheffield this morning. A huge chunk of the city was closed off as there was a murder, slap-bang in the area I needed to get through and it drove me fucking crazy. Had I had this EP with me at the time, I'm sure the ass kicking tunes would have calmed me down. This is a wonderfully brutal quick-sharp-shock that I just can't get enough of. Seven tracks, thrown down in under nineteen minutes, but it has the class of a full length album. Breedapart are a bunch of high octane Thrashers that include just enough Hardcore to get you bouncing around around the room like a total loon. Everything about this EP is faultless, |
but top marks go to Alex Gray's drumming as he drives this forward on the wave of Lee Tilbury's tortured screams. Who, in turn, reminds me of a thrashier, more metallic version of Paul Catten (ex-Medulla Nocte) and boy can he cram a lot of words into each sentence. On top of their aggressive as hell stance, there's an over-riding sense of melody that is (kind of) like current US sensations, Five Finger Deathpunch and in older terms, like early Machine Head and classic, Vulgar-era Pantera. The balance is, as you'd expect, perfect and the cleaner vocals don't lose the band an ounce of power. This is my first experience of Breedapart and I think they are going to be huge. I know they considered splitting after one of their original members left last year, but I hope they stick together as they are the best UK band I've heard in a long time. www.myspace.com/breedapart05 |

Current mood: pissed off
For those that didn't already know, we recently booked a UK tour with our buddies Man Must Die and Ted Maul, starting on 17th November down south and ending up in Scotland.
Without going into too much of a rant we basically got mugged off by a bunch of cunts who took over the whole tour which WE booked and organised ourselves and then kicked us off our own tour and replaced us with leng tche.
The reason for this blog is I have just found us still listed on one of the venues websites and wanted to let everyone know if you are planning on coming to see us on this tour we won't be playing.
We will be re-arranging another tour soon to make up for it so keep your eyes peeled as we will be playing your town soon.

To all those that know breedapart, you will know that it was started by two blokes who just wanted to write brutal metal. (rich and myself). Over the years breedapart has seen some lineup changes. Some for the better, some for worse. The one thing that allways remained the same was richs and my passion for the band. The fact that it has now come to the point where rich has decided to hang up his gloves and leave, makes me think to myself whether i should carry on, because without rich breedapart wont ever be the same again. The thing is though, breedapart is no longer those two piss heads fucking about in a garage. It has evolved into a band, a strong band, built up with amazing talent and character, to just give up would be an injustice to all other parties concerned. Myself, Steve, Clarkey and Lee will now move on and continue to create bone crushing metal. We will be looking for another guitar player to come into the band to be a part of the writing of the new album which is to be recorded in july out at the antfarm with Tue Madsen and Jacob Olsen. Details to follow.
All I can say on behalf of the band is, Rich we love you like a brother and we will truly miss you. Even though your not going anywhere its going to be weird doing all that band bollocks, without you throwing in your two cents. We wish you all the best with future ventures and still hope to be a big part of your life outside the music world.
Heres to the best chair dive bomber in the land the one the only Rich (pil, pilly, pilch)
Cheers

Here's a couple of our latest live reviews. If you don't believe any of it then get yourself and everyone you know to one of our upcoming gigs and we'll prove it!
Bar Monsta, Camden - 26th June
Coming up to the end now we had the penultimate band Breed Apart that are heavily influenced (in my ears at least) by Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, Hatebreed and Lamb of God. The five-man band hailing from Surrey took command of the stage and the crowd fucking loved them. I loved them. I was wondering even at the beginning if this was actually the headlining band. Unjust Martyr started us off and went straight through to Shattered where it came thick and fast; impressive drum work and insane guitar picking with bass trembles that just begged to be felt cascaded throughout their songs. Breed Apart were tight as fuck and they were great showmen. Bouncing around the stage and off stage front man Lee Tilbury really just makes you enjoy the show. He's a kind and approachable guy and the band are full-on behind him as he takes on that persona on stage. Guitars from Steve Collinson and Rich Bush (I've had my fair share) had some mental control of their instruments whilst being so fluid and flowing. Bassist (Clarkey) made for a menacing and yet somehow teddy-bear kind of guy with that mohawk doing it's thing whilst he smacked away at the bass strings. I always find that when a drummer brings on a pre-built rack for his cymbals it shows some sort of thought behind his passion. Alex Gray concentrated and was sweating bucket-loads whilst on stage and there's nothing that stopped him from giving his best. It's possibly the best drum work I've seen of the night and Breed Apart had certainly been band of the night for me so far. As a point of note they were meant to be headlining the evening but due to time constraints they were unable to. I can imagine that them headlining is something of a treat to whatever venue they get to. Certainly it was a treat to see them and indeed, you'd think the same. They moved on to Wars Within The Mind Are Fatal and then Silence The Witness with Neurotic Trigger coming close after. All tremendous songs with little chat in between. The set was short enough for the band to fit in ten songs; almost double everyone else's. Then we were given Fight For Blood; "do you want a fight?" and taken straight into a very clever cover; 11th Hour (Lamb of God). They played it expertly and made it their own in every instrument; a good move on their part. Breed Apart are one of those bands you could easily see again and again whilst also giving them a slot at a major festival like Download. They'd fill a tent no doubt and the audience would appreciate it heavily. For their last three tracks they played Epic, Apocalypse and Broken Down. Three hardened songs that, though fast and furious, are brutal enough to make even the hardened death metal fan get in the pit and start a poke. Very much enjoyed. Check out their EP coming out in the coming months.

Lounge Bar, Alton - 13th July
A quick glance at their equipment before the sound check started immediately gave the impression that this band don't just play for fun, they know what they are doing, and do it well. Bringing a legion of fans with them, they played an accomplished brutal set and were well received by all. The vocals were perfect for their music, and their ability to use all that expensive equipment to the full potential was never questioned. Breed Apart seem to be going places from all the hype around them, and deservedly so. Let's hope that they don't forget us when they're hitting the big time :-) Their debut at the bar was certainly successful, and we look forward to having them back again soon.
Thanks to the reviewers and everyone that came to these shows.
Also while we're here we would just like to point out that we are called BREEDAPART, not Breed Apart. We know its really picky and stupid but we all get very upset about it so don't do it!
