Demo A New Fall THE REVIEW: A New Fall is an upcoming hardcore band from Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. A New Fall is a band that was formed by 6 school friends. A New Fall is taking influences from such bands like Atreyu and Darkest Hour. Their sound is a bit metallic but still they are hardcore, not metalcore in my opinion. A New Fall is a band from quite unknown country, Malaysia. This country isn´t wellknown for it´s music and it makes this demo even more interesting. A New Fall´s demo CD contains 5 songs of hardcore guitars and drumming. Screaming is mixed quite well and you can hear it from their sound. Opening track in the album which was released in 2004 is "Predestination At Lost". It reminds me of an average hardcore band that is trying to get their name into surface. Their melodical outlet is still sounding quite good so I bet that in Malaysian hardcore scene this band will be success and maybe in Europe as well. Third song in the album is titled as "Decaying Compulsion". The song is full of rage and those heavy sounding guitar riffs that are breaking into listeners head like a hurricane. A New Fall´s demo CD is a promising beginning to a new band. We will hear from these guys in the future. And of course Check out their demo CD! whats up everyone!!! so we finally finished our packed weekend of shows...i'm here in KL right now while the other dudes are fast asleep...its been a crazy week...i can't believe we've been in three different cities in three different countries all within less than 48 hours!!! Very Happy its madness...but now that its monday and our next show is not until saturday, we can finally relax and get some sleep and just hang out... the shows have been crazy!!! the first show in Bangkok was amazing - we got to play with a new metal/core band called Bikini who were great...sound like a mixture of Norma Jean...at the show there were members of other Thai hardcore bands in the pit which must feel really happy: Innocent Blood, License to Kill, Born From Pain and even our friends in Makers of Casablanca and The Eastbound Downers were there!!! it was GREAT seeing all of them there...the organizer of the show, Yos, has posted a link to some great photos fromt that show!!! here's the link: http://www.thaimisc.com/freewebboard/php/vreply.php?user=retrospect&topic=281 *thanks Yos for being such a great friend and supporter of this band - you're the best!!!...through our wirlwind stay in Bangkok - he felt like the 5th member of the band! Very Happy we can't wait to go back there next year some time... then came our 9am flight to KL to play a Chinese Music Fest which was really interesting to say the least...the bands were all great and had a big mixture of types of music. there was some very mellow music, rock, nu-metal (which is what i think the audience enjoyed the most), some dance music, us, and others...it was organized by Mak of a local Chinese label called Soundscape Records - SUPER nice guy and took care of us a lot! its because of this dude that this whole tour was possible...so thank YOU so much Mak for thinking of us when you organized this festival!!! Very Happy then last night was the show that we've been waiting for the entire tour...our show with the lovely MYxHC hardcore kids (also in KL) - Cassandra, Second Combat, Kids On the Move, Kharisma, Oddity, A New Fall...the show was unbelievable from start to finish. when we first arrived we hadn't eaten lunch or breakfast and the show started early. we wanted to eat, but the first band was Oddity who we did NOT want to miss and they did NOT dissapoint!!! their guitar player was amazing!!! then we were starving so we HAD,to leave...went to burger king and ran back to watch A New Fall who were INCREDIBLE...got the crowd super pumped up...then came the legends of Malaysian hardcore: Second Combat and they set the place off for sure fingers were pointing, kids were dancing...the best part of these guys is when you stand in the very back of the room, the voices of the audience were louder then the band!!!THAT WAS INSANE!!!, the kids were screaming the words SOOOOO loud, that i couldn't hear the band...that was unbelievable...then came Kharisma, featuring our friend Dicky who is organizing our JB show on this coming saturday, and they were off the hook!!! soooooooooo good...we're playing with them again on sunday in Singapore and i can't wait to see them again!!! then came the hero's: Cassandra and since this was their first show in like 5 months, the kids just exploded into Cassandra's set!!!from start to finish they went totally apeshit for Cassandra...then came a new band called Kids on the Move who were great too!!! kids here call them the Comeback Kid of Malaysia! Smile that tells you the type of hardcore they play so passionately...they were awesome and really young kids too so that means their future is going to be full of awesome music and hope for the MYxHC scene... then came us and it was just awesome...it felt great playing on a stage with so many great bands - the rundown of the show was packed with great bands...i saw the drummer of Second Combat going nuts in the pit and that was such an awesome feeling - it feels great that our peers fully respect and support like we respect and support them! Very Happy in the last song, Refuse, i thought i seriously broke my leg! kevin got a photo of it and we'll post it up when i get back to hk...it looks brutal!!! our friend Jana who organized this show had to deal with so much shit for it...they had a place confirmed and then last minute they had to change it, then they had to change it AGAIN and they were so worried that no one was going to come because it was so hard to get the CORRECT venue to the people...but at the end of the show, over 280 people came!!! he felt great about that!!! you're awesome bro!!! thanks for going through SO MUCH trouble for us...we love you man!!! jana-na-na!!! alright...now its 5 days of hanging out before we play in JB for the first time on saturday, then Singapore on sunday...in singapore, andy and i are going to get our guitars modified!!! WOOHOO!!! can't wait!!! alright...i'm going to sign off now!!! thanks to everyone that has come to our shows and supported us by singing along, dancing along, being SUPER friendly and just being so damn nice - seriously, people have been so nice to us in this tour...we've all been so touched over and over and over!!! its great to see so many people that came to watch us last time, come back to watch us again this time!!!
