........................................

We’re so close to finishing the recording of our second album ‘Designed By The Devil, Powered By The Dead’. We’re really happy with how this album is turning out, and we’re really excited about letting you hear it. We’ll put some audio clips online as soon as it’s ready.

.. ..

Below are the track titles, and I’ve taken the liberty of writing a few words about each song.

.. ..

In no particular order:

.. ..

1.       Designed By The Devil, Powered By The Dead....

This is a ‘balls out rock song’ which is sure to become a live favourite. The lyrics were inspired by the movie ‘Thirteen Ghosts’.

.. ..

2.       Moonlight....

This is a pop fueled rock n’ roll song, and is likely to be the first single. It has a ‘Misfits’ vibe’ and is catchier than syphylis.

.. ..

3.       Drowning (In Your Love)....

This is a song about running away from someone that you love because they are no good for you, and  fearing that you’ll go back to them. You can run as far as you want, but the emotions are inside you. The music has a real 80’s feel, and it’s also a contender for a music video.

.. ..

4.       Sin When You’re Winning....

This is an upbeat rock song, which does for this album musically, what ‘She Wants It (Just Not From You)’ did for the first album. Lyrically, it’s about how the band has gone from strength to strength, despite a handful of losers in the music industry’s attempts to bring us down.

.. ..

5.       Without A Sound....

If you’re a fan of really long miserable Goth songs, then you will love this one. It’s a dark epic about loss and despair. It’ll make you dig out your old Type O Negative records.

.. ..

6.       No Tears Please....

This is an upbeat punk song with lyrics inspired by the Hellraiser movies.

.. ..

7.       Retrosexual....

Has LBD gone disco? Kind of. This is definately a single. If you enjoy having sex while wearing Kiss make-up, this is for you.

.. ..

8.       Catholic Sex Kitten....

If HIM and Black Sabbath wrote some music, and held a competition in a porno mag to write some lyrics, it’d probably turn out a bit like this. If any young ladies out there think that this song is about them, our address is on the back of the CD. Later.

.. ..

9.       Mr Nastytime....

This is a song about a gentleman with excuisite tastes. A celebration or a cautionary tale? Maybe both. If anyone out there is getting married soon, I recommend this song for your first dance.

.. ..

10.   Béla Lugosi’s Back....

This is a tribute to the legendary movie star, and also to Bauhaus for accidently inventing a genre. It’s an awesome Gothic Rock stomper, and a personal favourite. If Hammer Horror don’t phone us and ask us if they can use it in a movie, we’ll be very upset.

.. ..

11.   Sinner....

This is almost a power ballad. As the term ‘power ballad’ is often synonymous with ‘shit’, I won’t refer to it as one. It is however, an awesome riff monster of a song. If it doesn’t get to number one in Germany, I’ll eat my own ass.

.. ..

12.   Drowning The Phoenix....

This song is almost a sequel to ‘Drowning (In Your Love)’. It is about that moment of enlightenment during a bad relationship that makes you see reality, and taking that decision to cut that poisonous person out of your life forever. Musically, this is Hard Rock Heaven. It reminds me of The Wildhearts in places, which I am most pleased about. Crank this up to eleven as you boil those bunnies.

.. ..

.. ..

There you go. The greatest album you’ll have ever heard in just a few words. Get excited. Buy ten copies each when it comes out. Vote LBD. Rock.

.. ..

Cheers

.. ..

Hi All

We're happy to announce that we are going to record our second album late August. It will hopefully be in the shops around Christmas time, but we are going to make the album available from our website on Halloween if everything goes according to plan.

We have thirteen new songs in the pipeline, and at least ten of those will make the album.

There will be a limited edition bonus DVD included with the first pressing of the album for all of you die hard fans out there. The contents of the DVD haven't been confirmed, but we will definately include the videos for 'Goth Girls Are Easy', I Use My Powers For Evil' & 'Pretty But Mental'. The DVD will be PAL and we intend it to be region free.

We are looking to tour the UK from Halloween, and hopefully we will venture overseas in early 2010. Any promoters / booking agents interested in putting us on are welcome to get in touch!

Our debut album 'I Use My Powers For Evil' has been far more successfull than we ever thought it would be, and it is still selling across the planet. It's a wonderful feeling to know that people are listening to our music in many different countries, including America, Australia, Germany, Japan, Sweden, Portugal, Mexico...  the list goes on and on. We are truly grateful for your continued support, and we hope that you enjoy the next chapter of Lesbian Bed Death.

See you on tour

Our first album review

PIT OF DOOM (www.learnedrobb.co.uk)

Lesbian Bed Death: 'I Use My Powers For Evil' (CD)

Well, its been a long time coming. LBD have been threatening/promising a full on release for ages, and here it is. 'I Use My Powers For Evil' is the first full length offering from the Stoke based band, and its a cracker.

The bands sound is best described as 'Misfits meets The Cult meets The Cramps meets Sisters of Mercy meets Sleaze'. So, easy to categorise then........or to put it succinctly, Goth/Sleaze. The bands points of reference are quite easy to pinpoint as you listen to the cd, with some references more obscure than others ( i even found a Rocky Horror Show one).

So, to the songs themselves. Disc opener 'Goth Girls are Easy' is LBDs most recognised track, having first surfaced online aeons ago. Here, it has been re-recorded with new vocalist Luci4, and sound better than ever. This song is a real floor filler, with a very catchy central riff.

Other standouts are the discs title track, a full on six and a half minute long Goth rock out, complete with Hammer-esque organs!Tour Bus is a funny little dig at the cult of the groupie, all snide digs and innuendos. Vampire Lover rounds the cd out in a nicely gothy manner, and is a potential Goth floor filler itself.

The rest of the cd is solid, flitting between Goth and sleaze with ease, whilst always sounding like a coherent whole. This is despite the raft of guest musos who filled in the gaps on every single track (LBD is a core of Luci4 on vox, Mr Peach on Guitars, and Magic Andy on Bass). Indeed, its almost a Stoke Rock Scene supergroup session, with many bands from that fertile scene lending members to the project.

So, if you like Goth, Sleaze, or just want a fucking excellent new cd, I would heartily recommend this disc.

5/5

Current mood:  hopeful

10/10 for full on cheekiness.

Seriously though, independant bands like ourselves rely heavily on CD & merch sales to exist. We need to sell a lot of albums to pay our recording and pressing debts, adverts, a video etc etc.

A huge thank you to everyone who's bought "I use my powers for evil" so far, we greatly appreciate it. We're sure you'll love the album when it arrives. We've put a lot into it, and have ended up with an album we're really proud of. We hope you have as much pleasure listening to it as we had making it.

If you like the 3 tracks on our profile, and haven't bought it yet, please buy a copy and give it a whirl. We've kept the price really low (5.99 ) - it will probably be about double that when it hits the shops. We aren't charging any extra postage cost for overseas orders. ALSO the first 1000 copies have a bonus track!!!

It's not supercheap because it's shit and we can't sell it or anything like that. We just appreciate that we're a relatively new band without a major label budget and we need to establish ourselves. We also need to generate a few advance sales to help with our pressing costs. We'd also like to point out that the CD is a professional glass mastered CD and NOT a CDR.

If you don't want to use paypal but still want an album, message us and we'll sort something out.

Many thanks for reading this, and for your support.
