Hello hello!
Great couple months it's been, I do declare.
Yesterday we blocked off downtown Georgetown, Ontario for the Pigott Brothers shoot for "Rich Man" by Rawfootage Productions. Highlights of the day included a street party, Sebastian jumping on the band van and Earl Stevenson, who does a guest vocal on the tune, chanting "Tell that rich man go" through a megaphone at the top of his lungs. I also got to stunt drive an 11-seater 100 Km/hr down a main thoroughfare. Yee haw! Big raise of the glass to Mr. Jake Surette for turning us into elgant gentlemen of the 19th century, complete with top hats and waist coats!
You might have seen my brother Sebastian as the enigmatic Kai on CBC Canada's prime time dramedy "Being Erica". Sebastian and I co-wrote two songs for the season: "Alien Like You" and "Hard To Go", of which we're really proud. You'll be hearing much more of these tunes in the coming months, I assure you :-)
November 5th saw the release of our remastered-for-radio debut album "Pigottry". We hit Toronto's Rivoli and brought down a packed house. Cheers all for the wicked, wicked party. Huge props to our friend Sara Kamin for the brilliant set that night too!
Keep in touch, kay? Lots more exciting news real soon.
x Ollie

Yeah! Awesome to find my Sebastian's flick "Deadliest Sea" online so quickly, especially as it only aired in the States July 19th and hasn't yet even made its debut here in Canada. To see it in full, go to http://www.alluc.org, click the Movies tab, click the "D" link in the alphabet, then scroll over to "Deadliest Sea". Let us know whatcha think! Thanks ever so, Ollie

Duff checked his watch. Time. What a malevolent creature. Five excruciating minutes had passed the hour at which he'd arranged the pick up, and nowhere was visible Miss Juniper. She was known for her punctuality and sleek black Jag skidding a 180 to stop at point of rendezvous, so this was most unusual. More puzzling still was her sudden apparent utter lack of interest in the assignment, especially given it was she who had pushed for personal involvement. Maybe things were beginning to strike a little close to bone; maybe the past had knocked too many times. Whatever her reasons the last few days had seen her distracted and dismissive.
Of course, when Duff considered the angles, he couldn't place much blame: Sides of this job weren't fit for consumption. Where he was concerned he would have been happy with the simple graces. Why, twenty years after he'd been promised speedy evolution through the ranks, was he still relegated to grunt work for Central Intelligence? Picking up the odd unmarked manila envelope here, cleanly disposing of suspected trouble makers there. A glorified trick monkey.
But this taken for its whole value Duff was still a sneak at his core; as such the hunch that Miss Juniper was caught in something bigger was a fly round his head. Further unnerving was the more imposing hunch that if the fly were to be swatted he might never get behind her faintly coherent sporadic mumblings of the past few days. Something about music, the power of rhythmic verse and vast expanse of stadium stage.
And who was this Oliver Pigott, anyway?

Hope spring is finding everyone in sunny moods. I know I'm feeling pretty high myself. On mother nature, naturally.
So much to blather on a bout, I don't know where to begin! Tony Cowell, of the infamous Cowell clan, so very eloquently touted my talents on air! Thank you kindly sir. Here's the text of what he said, and you can hear the audio by visiting http://www.meermusic.com and scrolling to "The Cowell Factor with Tony Cowell, Edition 11" (in the red box on the homepage):
"...I go back into the Fame Games talent bank to discover two new artists who I think should be selling millions of albums. The first is a guy who last year was a finalist on Canadian Idol, Oliver Pigott. My spies tell me Oliver is winning over a whole new breed of fans in Britain, me included. Oliver, I love your song "Our Generation". You suddenly make folk music sound really cool! And you know what? You don't sound like anyone else. You're doing your own thing, and it's really fresh."
Cool, huh? Incidentally, please do feel free to get on meermusic anytime and vote for my other tracks (search Oliver Pigott or Pigott Brothers)!
Last Saturday saw the release of my first CD with my brother Sebastian (The Pigott Brothers, "Pigottry") and it was an absolute blast. We played the awesome Tranzac club in Toronto to a packed house. Shouts to Sara Kamin and Brandon Timney for sharing the stage with us. Check out http://www.myspace.com/pigottbrothers for more info!
Lots of events coming up, including the release party for our music vid of the first single "Rich Man" Sat. May 2nd at Lounge 51, Toronto!
More news very soon. Mwah!

Hey! So after four months of incarceration in a basement mission control the Pigott Bros. record, "Pigottry", is finished. I wore a producer hat for the first time ever, and if I do say do myself the disc sounds pretty amazing. To celebrate we're throwing something of a massive CD Release Party Saturday March 28th at The Tranzac in Toronto. Mr. Tony Nesbitt Larking will be playing drums and the Right Honourable Chris Williams will be on bass. Fellas, thanks for working so hard to making our debut CD sound monumentally great. We'll also have some righteous guests sharing the night with us so keep checking in! In a couple days we'll be posting about six tracks online. Can't wait for you to dig 'em as much as we do. xo Ollie
