Pre-Pesach Jtown Jam ALBUM RELEASE!! special night x
Tuesday April 15th 8pm-11pm 20nis entry 12 Givon (look for the butterfly) Nachlaot for more info emailme, Delia : newdelly27@yahoo.co.uk
so, cleaning for Pesach? Women, we deserve a break! To re-charge batteries! Things are always easier when you’re chilled... right?!
I offer you two glories...
a Jtown Jam chix only open mic night
before the omer - for your kosher enjoyment x
AND...
An EXCLUSIVE new album!
"sfirat"
i have been busily recording and mixing for a week now to offer you a labour of love in time for the omer. The cd is a’capella which means ’vocals only’. With the omer starting 2nd night of Pesach the halacha regarding hearing instruments play music presents us with a sad situation most years! 7 weeks without music (or whatever your minhag dictates) is hard for most of us, somewhat torturous for others...! The reason for this bizarre sounding halacha is that during these weeks we’re in mourning... We are taught that WISDOM OF THE HEART is the highest form we have, but what does that mean? I guess maybe it’s enabling ourselves to empower our heads just slightly over our hearts... to be able to see what our insides are saying and what we are feeling about something and still be free to make thought through, concious choices. So the torah, or TEACHING, is there to instruct us through this seemingly mapless road. And these are the instructions for... sadness! yes, instructions for sadness. Otherwise it either flows too freely or gets clogged up... a bit like, um, everything! So, music, it’s a powerful thing... takes you places, high, low, happy, sad, back, forward... If you want to feel happy, what do you put on the stereo? If you want to remember something what do you listen to? You get the message, the rest I will leave to your gut feelings and research but here is a cd to keep in the spirit without losing spirit.
The track listing is being finalised but it will B"H include Before the Dawn, Ein Od Milvado, Beshem Hashem and Summertime.
It has a gorgeous soul/folk sound, Eva Cassidy meets Ericka Badu, so I’m told. I tried to beatbox ladies! Thankfully I took that bit out... ;)
NO INSTRUMENTS ARE USED other than me, oh and Yiska Sara :)
the cd will be available on a limited release for 50nis.
previews available to hear soon on this very site!

after the show the blood flow slows down, the breathing returns to it's source and the heart settles into a soft thump.
after the show the good and the bad seem smaller, then bigger, then just sort of real, and in the past.
after the show we try to find a way to be normal again, the stage is not a normal place for people, they don't tell you that....
after the show i thank Hashem for the show, for the smiling faces and the lifted hearts. For the wrong notes that reminded me to look up, for friends, for Michal and Jess, for you who read these words, for good in the world and for connection (even love)
it was a great show, Thank G-d, I hope to see you all, if you're around, at the BIG GIG on Sunday August 5th in Jerusalem x
Delia, after the show x
