Current mood:  thankful
Category: Life
I don't use this site much anymore but on this December 21st, I felt like blogging. Wish I could blame it on drunkenness but that was roughly 12 hrs ago at 9:30 in the morning. More on that later.
My awesome amazing fantastic weekend started at 3pm on Saturday. Actually I could back it up to Thursday...that was pretty nice too. Anyway, Saturday at 3pm at the Northwest Film Forum was the pre-premiere screening of The Penitent Man. Finally got to see what I worked on in full. There was also a behind the scenes tape that brought back some memories. "Matt will you go feed the birds some breadcrumbs?" I love that doubly because of Nathan Fillion's meaning of "feed the birds". It's perfect.
Great to see everyone again. Can't wait for the public Seattle Red Carpet premiere on January 7th at The Egyptian.
Matt and I were hungry afterwards and got lost in Capitol Hill looking for food. Found his favorite, IHOP. Never bring him there hungry haha. Service was SLOW but food hit the spot.
Then we went to the Sakura-Con Staff Holiday party. I was happy Matt was willing to go with me...I wanted to go for the free bowling! Glad it was free cuz I sucked last night! Really makes me wanna go bowl again...see if I lost it for good or if it was a fluke haha. It was a white elephant party...disappointed I couldn't keep the hedgehog I stole for Matt. haha
Sunday was the SEAHAWKS game! My Christmas present from Matt. Which was awesome. We got invited to tailgate before the game. We both got up early anyway. Got there about 9:30am and popped open a beer. It was around 5pm somewhere in the world, right? My phone told me it was 3:30am in Sydney, Australia. They had a deep frier and a chicken so that was cool. We drank and socialized a few hours...felt the alcohol after the jello shots and jaegarbomb.
The game itself? I don't think you could be drunk enough for it and unfortunately we were sobered up by that point. But I still had a wonderful time with my boyfriend and it was entertaining. For the Bucs I'm sure. Comical, laughable. The Seahawks reached some new lows today losing to a team who previously had one win, 11 losses yay. Gotta love botched field goals or fumbles by the way. We lost 7-24. The atmosphere at football games is different than at Safeco Field...so much louder! FUN times. I <3 my man.
I am now exhausted...wish I could sleep but that ain't coming yet. My sister brought me back a Dick's burger, fries, and milkshake to top off my weekend so that's awesome. Kinda appropriate since I remember Dick's from the film shoot-the alley scene was shot behind Dick's and we had burgers that day for lunch.

Christmas is in less than a week...I still have everything to wrap! I am excited Matt gets to come over on Christmas.
I am excited to have someone for Christmas...someone as amazing as Matt... I'm a lucky girl. It has been a month now and things are still going strong which is amazing (for me) in itself. but I really care about him and can only hope to be so lucky in the months going forward...
and hoping in all honesty no one actually reads this haha! Can't help it...never felt this way before!

I admit it. I like country. SOME country. The non-twangy contemporary almost non-country country. Carrie Underwood's newest CD which I am really diggin' right now even has some songs produced by a hip hop artist. I connect with so many songs in the country genre from Josh Gracin's "Livin' It Up" to Rascal Flatts "Forever". Now, my current "me" song of choice is on Carrie Underwood's newest album, "Play On". I at least hope that's what I will be thinking...honestly a bit too early to say. But I heard it on my drive back from Everett today and I like it.
Pretty happy about where things are going so far...but don't wanna jinx it! Do I believe in jinxes?
I haven't a clue why I have been so sappy though (so unlike me!)
I am feeling pretty damn lucky though!

"Quitter" by Carrie Underwood

Here's how it goes
Boy meets girl, girl leaves boy
That's all I know
All I've done, all my life

'Cause throughout my history
I've only been with jerks
Who couldn't take it
But you see the picket fence
A wing on the front porch
With us two on it

When I believe that nothing lasts forever
You stay with me, keeping us together
And make me feel like I never ever wanna give you up
'Til now, I've always been a quitter

You rescued me
Saved my life just in time
Saw past all my issues and scars
And made me try

'Cause oh, the way you're kissing me
Makes it hard to breathe
But I still like it
Oh oh, it truly feels like a dream
You know exactly how I want it

I believe that nothing lasts forever
You stay with me, keeping us together
And make me feel like I never ever wanna give you up
'Til now, I've always been a quitter

I've always been a quitter

When I believe that nothing lasts forever
You stay with me, keeping us together
And make me feel like I never ever wanna give you up
'Til now, I've always been a quitter

I've always been a quitter

I am not writing a "Thank you Mariners" season cap here because that deserves its own blog...but THANK YOU MARINERS for a GREAT 2009!! K, I said it. Shoot me.
One thing I have enjoyed about this season is technology. (this will eventually tie into my weekend). Everything is getting faster and faster especially with the internet and more at your fingertips-though I still won't give up my hardcopy newspaper. And I hate to admit-twitter. I got an account to follow my friends-like most people-but most my friends didn't use it much. I actually kept it when sports icons got onboard. The first one I discovered was Ryan Rowland-Smith's. Never thought he would be tweeting (i would have picked a different number if I thought he would lol) but he even held a social media Q&A so now I follow people like Jenni Hogan (traffic reporter) too! I love following Matt Pittman and Shannon Drayer. Probably the sole reason I keep and check it everyday. They gave great insights from the clubhouse and sometimes their tweets weren't always PC-they said what us fans were thinking-which made it that much more enjoyable and sort of validated our opinions. I'm not just a Mariners fan, I'm a baseball lover. I came across twitter handles of players on other teams and have thoroughly enjoyed following them too. One of my favorite relief pitchers, CJ Wilson has quite an entertaining one. As of now, Ryan Rowland Smith is the only Mariner with a twitter. So that was a little bit of a sidetrack but this is my blog.

Anyway, back to this weekend, which has gone somewhere fast.
This weekend started Friday for me. It was quite nice. Went to Olympia while my dad was in meetings, the capitol to be exact, and threatened to protest and crash his meeting. Never did do that because I wanted lunch in which he took me to Anthony's on the water. Then I went to the Mariner game-fan appreciation night-against the Texas Rangers. My dad got the company seats (amazing!) and I met Susie there. I hadn't seen her in a long time so I was excited!! Got there about 5:30pm and met Susie outside the stadium. Once in the Safe, a friend I met on twitter said she was there and had something for me. So we met and she had made me some Ryan Rowland-Smith earrings...so sweet!! Then she asked if I wanted to go with her to see Matt Pitman and Shannon Drayer. Heck yes! We all had a really nice talk. Then Susie and I found our seats and who do I find sitting next to me? Ian Snell's dad!! He was really cool and talked to us the whole game-quite a character. Ian Snell was pitching so his dad was there supporting him. Quite excited to see his boy pitch in a big league park. CJ Wilson pitched 2/3 of an inning so I got to point out who he was and what my shirt meant. We lost the game but fun was had by all. CJ Wilson actually earned the win! Now I feel a little guilty. Snell's dad asked if I wanted his ticket for Saturday. I was planning on going to see Ryan Rowland-Smith.

Saturday was a 6:10pm game which was kinda nice. I was flying solo but my twitter friend and I agreed to meet. I got there early so I could watch batting practice. Staked out a spot in section 149-right by the Rangers relief pitchers. I was wearing my CJ Wilson shirt and he actually spotted me! I was sooo shocked I know I sounded like an idiot. He was so nice and asked if I'd like to take a picture with him. It was sweet!! I went to the bullpens and watched Ryan Rowland-Smith warm-up. Then I went to the bullpen pub. Found my seat in about the third inning. So unlike me-especially when Ry-Ro is pitching! Great seat just past the netting by the Mariners dugout. Hyphen did so well, I was so proud! He wasn't getting much run support but apparently didn't need it. Griffey's 630th home run (to the Mariner's chef) did the trick. It was quite a pitchers duel. Got to see CJ Wilson pitch again. In the end Hyphen got the win which was a great way to go out and another reason he should be number 2 next year in the rotation. Talked to Ian Snell's dad after the game, thanked him for the ticket and whatnot.

Sunday I decided I couldn't miss. It was the last game of 2009 and I wouldn't have baseball for 7 months...April 12, 2010 is the first game at Safeco Field. Though I am toying with going to Texas for the Mariners series in Arlington right before opening day. Plus it was Felix Hernandez's last start. Last pitch for the Cy Young. Both Greinke and Sabbathia didn't do particularly well in their last starts so it was his chance to one up them possibly. I just had a cheap ticket. Never actually ended up sitting in it. Hung out by the wolfpack again before the game. Got some pics and Everyday Eddie (Guardado)'s autograph which is super cool especially since it was his last game before he retires. I also ended up getting Jack Wilson and John Wetteland's signed cards. I might have some work to do with my shadow boxes. Still don't have CJ Wilson's autograph, quest for next year I guess! Anyways, then I went to watch warm-ups in the bullpens. CJ spotted me which was pretty cool. Went into the bullpen pub-last chance for garlic fries. Time to watch Fifi pitch his way to a Cy Young. He was awesome! Amazing pitcher...! I spent most the game behind the bullpens and walking around. Watched CJ warm up. Snapped some pics. Ken Griffey Jr. came up for his last at-bat, maybe of his career, hopefully not, against CJ Wilson in the 8th and hit a nice single up the middle. Crowd went crazy! It was cool to be able to see CJ pitch all 3 days as well as my Mariners. Tits did awesome, struck out the side in the 8th then with a one run lead, D.A. came in to save the game. Perfect. Storybook ending. The Mariners won 4-3, Felix's 19th W! Griffey was bawling after the game. Then, it was sooo cool. The Mariners including Wakamatsu paraded around the field for about 5 minutes after the game and threw stuff up to the fans (who didn't want to leave). They carried Griffey and Ichiro (Silva carried Ichiro singlehandedly) like heroes into the dugout. Quite amazing to see what a special group of guys this team 2009 was. Speaking of which, Sweeney, who started the parade, pied Wak during the press conference. Priceless. Such a great cap to an amazing season. Who woulda thunk we would have gone from 101 losses to 85 wins-a winning season? This weekend was sooo great and will take a lot to be topped!!! Wak for manager of the year!

yes that is 3 in 6 days. And only one was planned more than 24 hrs in advance. Thank you, Ryan. That's what I get for wanting to see my favourite Aussie!

July 1: planned about 5 hours before game start, It was an adventure haha. Drove to the Issaquah Park and Ride, and took a bus ($2.50) to the game. Bought cheap seats-CF bleachers 3 rows from the top yeah ($7)! Spent more on food than everything else put together. If you bring your own food, however, it's a cheaper date than the movies-no joke! Hmmm...
Ryan Rowland-Smith looked like an ace for the first 3 innings. He changed his strategy in the 4th and seemed to be getting a little tired so allowed 3 runs.
In the 6th inning an almost comical grounder slipped between Jose Lopez's legs and we found the Blue Jays had a 6-2 lead. Crap. These are teh 2008 Mariners...not exactly the "2 outs, so what?" Mariners of 2001. But then, they started coming back. A home run by Beltre then a funk blast by Sexson...yes Sexson. Anything can happen now. In the 9th, the score was tied 6-6 and Ibanez got on base with a walk. Vidro sacrificed him to 2nd. Belter intentionally walked. Finally Bloomquist lined a ball to center and the billboards flashed MARINERS WIN!! 7-6.
3 things I discovered this game-there are a lot of convenient bus routes, cheap seats are not bad at all, and the bullpen area is fun before games.

INDEPENDENCE DAY!!
Where would I be on the Fourth of July? Safeco Field of course! Wanted to get the fireworks started early. The Mariners had special caps with the American flag colors in the symbol. So, it wasn't exactly fireworks...well except for Raul Ibanez's 414 ft shot to the Hit It Here Cafe in the fourth. I was wondering where the literal fireworks were. Kenny Rogers and Erik Bedard was a good pitching matchup. it was a little nerve-racking as the Tigers kept threatening to score after their single home run in the 2nd. He pitched his way out of trouble through 5 innings and the bullpen took over from there. Morrow did great as usual. We won 4-1. It's gonna be a good day.
The evening was filled with family, good food (i madeacherry jello taurrine dessert), friends, playing pool, alcohol, and talking about things that shouldn't be repeated haha! When it finally turned dark, you can see most of the big firework displays from my aunt's window. Then on the way home, i looked for "unincorporated King County" so I could blow up some of my own. I knew Yellow Lake was unincorporated. Fireworks aren't allowed like anywhere. NOT EVEN SPARKLERS! How ridiculous is that? I didn't know exactly what I bought. Just that one was very big. Nothing I had bought or set off before. Keep away from children. I found a place other people were lighting fireworks, set up shop, and played with fire. One lasted for a long time, one had a parachute man fly out the top (which then got stuck in the electrical lines...oops), and the big one was sweet! I was kinda scared. It blew red and blue sparks off the side, had sparks that went really high, then a finale of the ones that blow up in the sky like a mini version of the professional ones. It was awesome!! However I thoughtmy lif was in danger...surprisingly not because of me but some stupid boys were shooting bottle rockets and roman candles AT each other and shooting fireworks that should be blowing up in the sky on the ground. Idiots like them are WHY fireworks are illegal...I hate retards.
The next day, I went back to the spot to see if I had any remnants to clean up. Well, I found that it had been cleaned up COMPLETELY, in the daylight, there was no lake...so i guess I didnt find Yellow Lake-it was a park...AND all over the area were giant, clear signs in red bold letters-NO FIREWORKS, NO FIREWORKS ALLOWED! Oopsy daisy...

July 5: I decide I wanna go see Ryan Rowland-Smith start on July 6. I want the best seats possible to see the pitcher. And I got freaking LUCKY.
The Seattle Times tells me above named pitcher has an online blog. Yippy!
I also figure out what I am going to make for dinner tomorrow. I live at my parents for the time being and have to contribute somehow...

July 6: Well, we lost 2-1 but it was an experience like no other!! I had a great time. Exciting is not exactly the adjective to use as it was a pitcher's or should I say pitcherS duel. It was defiinitely strange and interesting and amazing. I picked up the tix in the morning, got my coffee, camera, and snacks whcih i didnt eat. I rarely take a camera besides my phone but when am I EVER gonna have such awesome seats? I said I got lucky. Not to mention i basically got two tickets for the price of one. I was on top of the Mariner's dugout TWO rows back. Plus Rowland-Smith is a left hand pitcher which meant the right hand side was a good place to be!
I got tons of pictures (to be posted later i think). Though, what is funny about that is I used a camera that wasn't mine. The bride of a wedding i was a bridesmaid for left her camera in my car. It was better than mine and had NO pictures on it. I of course will give it back but not before i get my awesome Mariners pics on a disk. It was a nice camera! You could zoom in on nostril hairs if you wanted...of outfielders. Debating whether to erase the pics or just leave 'em when I return it and have her wondering when she went to a Mariners game and had such awesome seats!
Should have known it was gonna be an odd day! On my way to the bullpen to watch 18 warm up, I see two of my WSU friends. I know they like Mariners but you just dont expect to see school friends there.
The game itself was....unusual. I got my dayum money's worth! I knew I had been there awhile when I was standing for a SECOND seventh inning stretch.
Ryan Rowland-Smith went 5 innings today. Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi oi oi!! I am curious why they didn't put him in for a sixth but i do realize he has to work on building longevity. The original plan was to have him throw 80 pitches and he tossed 86. They better not let the Milwaukee Brewers-or any other team-take him...he's got what it takes, just wait. I bet they wish they hadnt turned to the bullpen so soon when we went extra innings. 6 pitchers later, we were all used up! When I saw Dickey run across the field to the bullpen I was like "uh oh!" He started and pitched over 100 pitches YESTERDAY. Next thing I know, Clement is the new catcher-not out of the norm...but what is Burke doing still out there? Without catcher gear on? He MUST be warming Clement up...but Beltre could do that...or the pitcher...Then the board says "now pitching for the Mariners, Jamie Burke." REALLY?! I was kinda in awe. They must have felt the same way-the whole team was standing out-watching. Burke got the loss when a sac fly got a run in but it wasn't bad having not pitched since 2002 and never in the major leagues. The Tigers who didnt reach base against him must have felt pretty dumb!
Having not eaten anything (That's a FIRST at Safeco) I was hungry! So I got dinner started. An Australian recipe for fried rice and Australian Meat Pies. The fam thought it was delic so that was a success! I need to go to the Australian Pie Company in Burien, WA...I wonder if Ryan has been there. I wanna go back to Australia!!

But I currently live in Pullman, Washington!!

Last night, (since I had to get up early...take my dog to get neutered-he gonna hate me and then coffee hour with Dino) I set out my clothes. A tank top or tee shirt, pedal pushers, and flip flops. It's supposed to be about 85 degrees at this time. I get up at 6am, look out the window, and have to dig out my WINTER COAT!! And then I wonder if i am going to have to find my ice scraper...chains? Is this is the apocalypse? WHY IS IT SNOWING?! What day is it? June 10...cell phones don't lie.

It is also the first day of Alive! Well, kids. Welcome to beautiful Pullman. Dino Rossi is also in town. This is just crazy!

Global warming my ass! Extreme weather perhaps.

Just last week I was watching the Belmont Stakes. Another heartbreak. No Triple Crown. Anyway, it was over 90 degrees, the hottest day recorded in Elmont, NY for that day in history. They used words such as "sweltering". Talk of a horrible uncontrollably heated summer was being tossed around. And now in Pullman, Washington I could go out and make a snow angel. Yes, it is sticking. Even to the roads. It isn't a dusting nor is it a summer hail. It is real big flakes of snow. My friend Zach says there is 8 inches of snow on the pass. The pass I am supposed to drive on this weekend. Oh JOY. Yesterday Alan said the pass was CLEAR...how it is supposed to be in JUNE!!

Dana thinks we hibernated way too long and got disoriented. Both of us. Maybe I somehow am in the Arctic. Wont be needing that AC. I am NOT turning on the heat on June 10!!

KCACTF was 20 hours away (by bus) this year in the land of the cowboys. Good ol' Laramie. Though I couldn't find much good about it. It is a big pile of mud that tries to eat you and it is unavoidable-you will step in it. It's cold and there are no transportation services. Yep, I was hoofin' it a lot cuz it seemed that the workshops i wanted to do didn't quite sync with everyone else's schedules. Was happy I didn't give up and stay in the room all day or something-most workshops were uber fun and useful and even got the occasional networking opportunity in. There is one cool thing about Wyoming though. They have DINOSAURS. Not even just the little ones but the big ones that you dream about as a kid. The school had this geological museum and let's just say it was awesome.

The first day of Irene Ryans' what happened was expected. Only one from WSU made it to semi-finals. Damn. They were good this year too. REALLY good. People not just from our school were talking about our people. But KCACTF people don't think highly of us. So, one out of 12 made it. Then on Wednesday Christie was talking about how relieved she would be if she didn't make it. BUT she did!! So she made it to the FINALS!! We all were just hoping she wouldn't get arrested. (JK). Her and Zack's finals performance was great. IMO she performed her monologue with the most emotion and the two contrasting scenes were good anyway. Andrea had her directing 10-minute play in the morning. She actually used blocking but apparently when talking to your actors you're not supposed to use "I want"? Whatever. So all of us WSU kids are sitting about midway up for the awards ceremony. It was pretty much the usual of what happens. Although we should enter tech stuff cuz Western Washington took pretty much everything and we could so beat them. Anyway, when they are announcing the directing fellowship, the anticipation was just too much! The girl who I thought was going to win got runner-up. Hmmm. I looked over at Ben and he was so anxious for his sister. Andrea actually looked pretty calm. I wanted to jump out of my seat as they were explaining how the winner of this award, "she had the most innovative rehearsals, worked with actors and playwright......" then WHAT? "Washington State University." Didn't even hear the name cuz we were all screaming!! OMG someone from WSU is going to Washington DC. They won the big gun. Not too long after was the announcement of acting awards. Christie and Zack didn't get any of the prelim awards. I was getting nervous and my heart was pounding as they announced first runner up. Then they announced the first Irene Ryan winner. "I don't know what school...Christine Stordeur". WSU that's what school!! Again, we were all so happy it was just screams of excitement in there. FINALLY!! It's only my second KCACTF but c'mon, i've heard the disappointment we normally come home with year after year. There were talks of not even going next year because of all the effort we put in for nothing. This year was different. This year we won TWO of the big competitions. WON them. We went crazy! It's surreal. This is why, Oming. There were some ups and downs to the whole trip but THIS WAS WELL WORTH IT. And so glad i didn't miss it! So good to see three of my friends and school succeed like that!

After all the excitement I was amazed that I actually slept on the bus ride home. Moving vehicles don't normally create a good recipe for sleep for me. I think I regret it now though. Bus lag is worse than jet lag. And I have a nasty kink in my neck and shoulder. Forgive me for complaining. You would too. Plus, I could go off about other things like bitches i wanted to choke and whatnot but I wont. In the end it was ALL WORTH IT!! GO COUGS!!!!

it is cold and there is a lot of white stuff on the ground and blowing around.

Okay, not quite that. However it did tell me there is no school on Friday. Four day weekend. Am I at WSU? School closed really? Maybey there is need to worry! School was closed today too. However, I already had awakened, and went out in the weather, and got to campus when I found out. Bleh. I find myself asking, why'd I go today? Oh well, tomato soup and a grilled cheese solved that.

Pullman has no snow shovels anywhere. Found that out today. Have to get one tomorrow morning.

At least I have some time to study...yippee skippy.

Take me back to Australia/New Zealand. It was SUMMER. I don't like this freezing cold stuff. plus, i liked the cruise ship...i had food whenever i wanted, didn't have to clean my room...back to the real (kinda) world...of SNOW. This week has kinda sucked for a lot of reasons...I'll figure it out someday. Life, that is. Well maybey...it's frustrating...so many downers. Good to be back on the catwalks however...yeah, i'm a dork but it's "comfortable".

"tag"

I got "tagged" by Mike and yes, you're right I <3 reading your blogs and yep guess I'm gonna do this. A little too much superior wine may have something to do with that but nonetheless...here it goes

Once you have been tagged, you have to
write a blog with 10 weird, random things, facts, habits, or goals
about yourself. At the end choose 10 people to be tagged, listing their
names and why you chose them. Don't forget to leave them a comment
(you're it) and to read your blog. You can't tag the person that tagged
you. Since you can't tag me back, let me know when you've posted your
blog so I can see your answers.

1) I am NOT a midget

2) I am quite immature...if not watching (or playing) sports or video games, you can find me happily enjoying cartoons-and not just the adult ones

3) I can't take a compliment!

4) I am said to be very stubborn

5) I love waffles and chicken...together. I also heart otter pops

6) My sense of direction is impaired

9) Someday I wish to be a lighting designer, actor, grand prix show jumper (equestrian), and while we're dreamin', i'll throw in baseball GM

10) If I believe in something, I will attack it until it's done

People to join in the madness:
1) Jess-cuz i'd most certainly laugh
2) Seanny-cus yours would be interesting and you've been blogging lately

Category: Life

I really don't have anything life changing to say at the moment but I haven't posted a blog in awhile so boring? yes. But it's here.

THE PAST...
I'm a retard. I can't believe I didn't post about "I Hate Hamlet" which was in May. As with all live theatre, som enights were better than others but it was all in all a successful and FUN show. I did the lighting design and opping for it and was Hamlet for the opening and intermission. I also helped with random things such as dressing men in tights. Not to mention I was in tights...
I worked with many awesome people but now I miss them. The people you meet and work with really can affect how much you enjoy your task.

I took 9 credits of summer school this year. I couldnt wait fo rthem to be done but now I miss it. Funny how that works. I LOVED my playwriting class which was the one class I was terrified to take. How was I gonna come up with a whole play out of my ass? Well, I did and am still working on it and will be starting another one shortly. Directing I was nice in the summer because it was so compacted that a lot of the bullshit wasn't there. It'd be a hard one to take for a whole regular semester but 6 weeks was great although hard to get the final done. But we all managed. I felt mine actually went really well considering the challenges. I directed "Tabl e5 at Empire Szechwan". Technical Theatre Management wasn't hard but there were two projects, the first one which I liked and the second which was kinda annoying. It didn't help that my computer decided to combust itself literally two days before everything was due. i handwrote that final project for stage management. It was hard trying to get my play for playwriting in with no computer but I got some extra time. My whole computer deal is another story. My text messaging on my phone also decided to go kaphlooey this week too.

On Sunday I moved in to my new apartment. It needed some work but that should be done now. It's HUGE! Very strange. It's a four bedroom turned into a two bedroom. The walls were cut down so they are two huge bedrooms and two bathrooms. They didn't have any one bedrooms left so that's what I was "stuck" with. There is a LOT of room-a full guest room suite basically so if anyone wants to come visit wonderful Pullman they are welcome anytime-Gimme a call!

THE PRESENT
On Thursday I drove back from Pullman with my mom. Five ours of boringness ensued some pretty interesting conversation. Probably not appropriate to post on myspace haha.

Last night i went to the "Welcome Back Griffey" Mariner game. It was terrible! We gave the Cincinnati Reds a gift...16-1. The ceremony for Griffey was really nice however. "Welcome Back to the House Griffey Built". I am not bitter about him leaving or anything-yesterday kinda said why he might lol but it still is kinda annoying we built a stadium to suit his needs (he's a left handed batter) and then he leaves. BUT I LOVE Safeco Field so a big THANK YOU even though he didn't get to enjoy it.

Today I went fishing with my brother on our ex-neighbor's private dock on Pine Lake. We caught our first fish within five minutes. We caught our limit-ten-so we have a lot of Rainbow trout. I however don't eat fish or sea food but my family will enjoy it. I just like catching fish.

I'm gonna be on the west side for a little bit I think. I'm going to the Red Sox/Mariner game on Monday. yippee!

THE FUTURE
Who knows. It changes. Always. Uh oh, it's starting to sound meaningful. Time to stop.

Well, last night I spent an hour looking for excursions. I get to go on a cruise to Alaska. My friends got a suite and iinvited me so I said yes. The two things I really want to do in Juneau and Ketchican is dogsledding and sport salmon fishing.

There's lots of stuff I could say about the supposed future but i think i have bored you enough if anyone is reading.

Sort of PS: Tomorrow night I get to make dinner. I NEVER was a cook at ALL before about a month ago. This is the kid who gets teased by her sister for burning Mac & Cheese. However I love food. What am I making? you didn't ask. I am gonna make what started out as an experiment but has turned into one of my staples. Marinated chicken on waffles with raspberries (boiled into a sauce). Thanks Alex!!

I took a whirlwind trip to Las Vegas this weekend to see the World Cup finals at the Thomas and Mack Center. It was so much fun! Just wasn't there long enough. I get to go back for my 21st birthday however. Maybe before then if my trainer makes it into the finals next year!

Saturday, I got tickets for the Grand Prix of Las Vegas. The course was challenging but not impossible. I am not used to indoor competitions. There was a difficult triple combination.

18 riders and their beautiful beasts soared over the impressive fences not all effortlessly. And then there was Audra Fleck-Snijders and Rainland Mel. Little Mel Mel. The same Mel I used to cool out and sneak carrots. Audra, whom I've seen through trials and tribulations. The one who really taught me how to ride. Whom I have known even before her husband; starting her business as just an assistant in Issaquah. Which I was lucky I hadn't gotten fed up and left yet. That was back when I had Naughty Boy Star Pony.

Damn, you miss a lot while you're at school!! This year, they were a real team. Competitive. Spruce Meadows, California, all the big guns. This weekend-LAS VEGAS!

Now, going 19th, I nervously watched my trainer, Audra Fleck-Snijders on her fired up Mel whom was quite impressed by the whole scene. Who wouldn't be? "All of THIS...for ME!?!?" Yeah, he was excited. The first jump came to him as a bit of a surprise. But he corrected it-even if it was an ugly, scary looking chip. I don't know that I have ever seen that pair go so fast. They were a true team. They made it to an international competition-and were competitive. Heck, they even placed! Four faults and the second to fastest time.

Current mood:poor, haha

I love the westside. Yay for a REAL tack shop. Or ANY tack store I should say!

I found my running martingale which will hopefully help Cisco. We shall see.

Bought something at the tack store for my friend which i want to steal. Okay so i did get an AWESOME tailored sportsman show shirt and basically an American Eagle shopping spree. So I can't complain. But Ciscy got a gorgeous blue, turquoise, and green plaid Pessoa blanket. Now he wont have to borrow Asky's oversize ginormous blankets. And he got new green polo wraps for Xmas <3

Now, what to do with my horsies over the summer. I want to take Asky to the Oregon High Desert Classic II and Ciscy to the Evergreen Classic. And I want to buy a trailer. A two-horse slant-load bumper pull Featherlite. I WANT TO WIN THE LOTTERY!! My barn at home just raised its prices to $700/month..oh joy. I could almoust have THREE horses in Pullman for the price of one!!!

Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes

Somehow I pulled it off. I am one of those bitches who has multiple horses. In the world I am used to being in, hardly rich. Plus anyway, this one is literally all mine. Parents aren't funding this one. All me. Whether I train him to sell so he earns me money to get an import or he develops into something stellar and I personally get to enjoy success on HIM, he is part of the greater goal. That is why I do what I do.

I have never been one to want or have the luxury of having "easy" horses. Although Ciscy makes Asky seem almost deadbroke. Makes me respect Asky a lot more. Well sometimes. Like today when I was riding him bareback. Earlier this week he was being a nimrod about jumping which he hasn't done in awhile.

Cisco has a new registered name-Cisco's Cadence. He however needs to live up to his name. I have been dumped about five times this week and he landed me in the ER today. BABIES!!! I really can't get mad at him...he is such a baby. Just look at him. Anyway, at the beginning of the week i had two mild dumps. Juat antics. Two days ago he was a pissant!! I was riding (and falling off) bucks that could have competed with a rodeo bronc. ANYtime he went into a trot *buck*! I've never had back problems-I do at the moment! Reese helped me out. Actually she gave me a lesson on Sunday and Monday. Jeez, did they help!! Yesterday was an awesome ride!! Until I noticed he was off on the left front. Probably from his dumb antics. Today I decided to handwalk him but babies and 60mph winds that make noises don't mix. He freaked out, bucked, and his hoof got me in the face. There will be NO Christmas pictures of me this year. I REFUSE!! Reese was there THANK GOODNESS. She took me to the ER to get checked out. Poor Reesey. This has been the week of dealing with me. I'm lucky to have such awesome friends...

I "forget" how much Ciscy is truelly a baby. I need to use a stud chain when I walk him. I need to be ahead of him while I ride him. He's not smarter than me-he just has 1200 lbs on me. I've truelly got my hands full!! No regrets as it is fun, just not easy, but easy is boring.

In about eight months I can come back, read this, giggle at what a greenie he was and praise him for how far we have come-hopefully in the hunter ring, being a true cadence, at Thunderbird or Evergreen Classic in Monroe!!

I <3 my little brat, my  Cisco!!!

Alaska is still a dork. As always. But now he is a beautiful Dressage dork. Sean makes him look like a pretty boy. Alaska wanted to HI HO SILVER AWAY!!!

Sooo I got to ride Cisco today. Why couldn't he be horrible? He wasn't perfect, no, as he is a baby and you can probably count on one hand how many times he has jumped. But he was FUN and would be a blast to work with. I was supposed to decide I didn't want him after being on his back. Poop. He's sweet, cute, and looks like Joey but smaller. Much, much smaller. He's in training for dressage but IMHO he would make a great jumper. Why can't I be one of those rich brats who can own five horses?

Sometime: woke up. I think.

11am: Went riding in the outdoor sand ring. I worked him on the flat a little bit. He's actually fun now since he goes so nicely. I had a line set up which was fine at low heights (crossrail and small vertical) but I couldn't get the fucking distance right. I was afraid I would make him lose confidence but I figured it out. I have to go measure it but I think we ended on a 4' vertical.
12pm: Cooled him out on the wheat fields. You can literally ride forever. It is sooo awesome. There are some advantages to living in this hick town. Gave him a rinse.
1pm: cleaned out his stall. Everyday.

2pm: shower. I know you needed to know that.

2:30pm: My friend called me and invited me to pre-game and go to the USC football game. I knew I had Moscow but I decided to see how much I could fit in my day so I was like, fuck yeah.
3:30pm: I became Mormon and parked at the church. No, I am not ormon so I probably will go to Hell for parking there.
4pm: Gametime!! I actually have a sports pass apparently. I thought I cancelled it since I didn't use it much last year. Apparently I got charged so I have it. The joke is I may end up using it a lot this year! Oh, and I saw Wes there.
5:20pm: Had to go. Sadness. We were behind. Not by much. Ran to my car.

5:35pm: changed into blacks and drove to Moscow. Even though I went to the game and all that beforehand, I got there right at 6pm-earliest ever!!
6pm: Got to the Kenworthy and set up, steamed, whatever. Got done at 6:15!! So we walked to a winery down the street to pick up a bottle of wine. Then went to the Co-op to get drinks.
6:35pm: I went back to the Co-op to get a Huckleberry/Raspberry Creamosa. Apparently Italian sodas are just syrup and sparkling water and Creamosas have the half and half added. They had huckleberry!! Sometimes I don't care if the half and half gets to me...it was damn good.
7:30pm: Showtime!! Last show of the run. Went well. Sold-out crowd that laughed a lot so that was awesome. Nice reaction to the nudity tonight.
10pm: Strike! Props and costumes put away, everything off the stage, and tearing down walls and the seven doors used on the set. I actually got to use my truck to haul furniture and Betsy (Sally) the cow to the Eastside. It drives differently when there's weight in the back! I survived. It survived. I love my truck!
11:30pm: Last cast partyGood food, good people, good wine.

1am: I left Alaska's blanket off so I went to the barn to blanket him. Poor guy was already laying down but then he didn't want me to leave.

2am: I think my day has finally ended!

Current mood:  hopeful

I brought my horse, Alaska, to Pullman on September 18th. After much stable searching, I found Sunshine Stables. I ain't gonna lie, it was the grass jumping field that got me. Plus it has a grass dressage ring, outdoor sand ring, and indoor arena. He even gets his own run.

What I don't have is the luxuries of the west side. But I can't complain considering I pay half the price. Stall cleaning, grain, supplements, turn-out, etc. are all up to me. So is jump training. I never was allowed to jump without a trainer on the west side so this is new to me. Setting my own jumps is a bitch. Thank goodness he doesn't knock them down too much. I like lines. Course-building is harder than it looks. I have one set up for Sunday to try out so hopefully it doesn't get messed with.

What is even more exciting is although I do my own jumping training, he now has a Dressage trainer. I would die if he got to fourth level or above. He seems to like it and it's sweeeeet to have someone that seems to love him and get along with my 15 going on 4 year old Germanic warmblood. He looks sexy in white polo wraps and black dressage tack. Seriously. And Sean makes him look sexy on the flat. He's already progressing quite well. Not just looks. He was so soft today that I could actually ride him how Patrick wants me to-leave his mouth alone. The way he stretched down right away at the trot was a dream. Usually it takes until after he has cantered to get that way. BTW, yes, it is a guy trainer AND NO he's not gay-amazing, I know. There's two.

Anyway, Alaska seems pretty dang happy. I didn't realize how much I missed him last year and how much fun it would be making time for him. Now I have something to do and someone to see! And eat me out of house and home.
