is done.  i overcame the odds once again and finished my newest song.  I'm too tired to post it tonite, but I'll get it up here tomorrow.  it's a really dark track (I think it's Darkwave.)  All synths and vocals.  Gary Numan, I'm calling you!

i'm this close l<-->l to being done with my new song.  it's the mixing that's giving me trouble.  i think i found a spot for the vocals in the mix.  sounded fine tonite.  i'll see if it still sounds fine tomorrow.  if it does, i only have a couple more tiny things to do.  analog synths give me trouble in the mix!

so i think i have my new song sounding right, but i think i want to write 1 more synth line.  i worked on it awhile tonite, but couldn't quite get the sound that i was going for.  jack of all trades, master of none.

yep, no finishing up tonite.  still mixing and editing.  and trying to avoid doing any more vocals.  i think i'm like 95% finished with this song.  won't be able to do any work tomorrow.  just to give you an idea of what i think this track sounds like, i'd say a mix between "the fury" era Gary Numan and current Ladytron.  no guitars.  all synth.  mostly of the analog variety.  i really like the lyrics.  but then again, i always really like my lyrics.

been working on a new song.  i've just got a little bit of tedious editing left to do.  maybe like an hour or 2 will do it.  i think the name of the song is gonna be "I'll take make-believe."  heavy electronic, synth, gary numan influenced track.  dark-wave.  maybe i'll finish it tomorrow.  if i have the energy after a day of dealing with douchebags.

finally getting back to it.  man, it can be hard to get your groove back after losing it.  got back in and did some vocals.  should be able to finish up this track soon.  i know i always say that.

so i'ven't been spending much time in the studio lately.  being sick a few weeks ago really screwed with my rhythm.  after getting over that i got back to taking care of everyday business.  and of course i've been working alot so that i can build up my studio.  so anyway, i am just about ready to get back to business.  i've got a fender jazzmaster on the way, i'm ready to put more guitar into my music.  i'm pretty excited, we'll see what happens.

well, as you know, i was planning on releasing my album next month, but while working on 'falling apart' i realized something.  i have an albums worth of material that i really like, but alot of it is under-developed.  so, instead of releasing my stuff as-is (for the most part), i'm going to really put in some work to get these songs sounding as good as they sound in my head.  i always remember something that i read a while back that said you have your whole life to write your first album, and while i don't plan on taking another 10 years to finish this one, i do want it to sound great.  so, i don't know when i'll be done, but i guess i'll load the songs up as i finish them.

i've been sick the past few days, so i haven't been working on anything.  but, i did load 'this love is a crime' to my reverbnation player (located in the 'about me' section of my page) and it sounds a ton better than the myspace player version.  you should check it out.  hopefully i'll get back to the process tomorrow or the next day.  (well, actually i have a dj gig friday nite and i need to work on that too, so...)

i have just finished "This love is a crime".  Thought it was gonna beat me, but i pulled thru.  i'm gonna post it to the widget player on my page, because the quality is better than the myspace player. (unless it gives me too much trouble, in which case i'll put it in my myspace player.)  so anyway, i'm incredibly happy with the song and the sound quality.  i've made a huge leap in production value.  so,  it's great to be able to move on to my next track.  i'm not sure what i'll work on next, but i'll post when i decide.
