Already receiving substantial press overseas in Europe and their UK
home, Savage Messiah are ripping it up with their fresh and
enthusiastic modern vision of classic heavy metal on Insurrection Rising.
Their appellation is fitting as their metal is 'savage' with old school
heavy and thrash metal merging into intense modern melodic metal
without its hardcore harshness. And that's why 'messiah' may also fits
so well as they may be modern metal's saviors. Savage Messiah does not
depend on constant and chunking riffing, growling unintelligible
vocals, or hardcore vulgarity to bring their ferocious metal. And,
incidentally, all members are exceptional and rather technical
musicians. Listen to the mammoth arrangements and expert displays on
Corruption X, In Absence of Liberty, or Vigil of the Navigator: all
exceptional and thrilling metal pieces. Insurrection Rising
could be exactly what it implies: a rebellion against the horrible
status quo of modern metal. Thankfully, we'll all be the better for it.
Savage Messiah is metal, and Insurrection Rising is a crown jewel. Very recommended! 5/5 Craig Hartranft. http://www.dangerdog.com/reviews_2009/savage-messiah-insurrection-rising-review.php

Metal Hammer: Besides Evile, Savage Messiah are the second English hope bearer in the matter of Thrash, even if they got clearly less press than their colleagues. This hopefully changes with their second work INSURRECTION RISING, because this record rocks! Some riffs remind (of course) of the forefathers exodus, but the guys around singer and guitarist Dave Silver doing that more catchy. Therefore, the music sounds rather like a mixture of early Annihilator, Testament, Megadeth and Artillery ,this should be expressly understood as a compliment. Above all, the extremely melodic Lead guitars and the rough voice of Silver, which penetrates sometimes also into hair-raising heights, let Savage Messiah, among the huge number of new bands, stand out. Everybody who wants to hear an extremely successful symbiosis of Thrash-and Heavy Metal killers should urgently hear songs like ‘ The Serpent Tongue Of Divinity ',' Vigil Of The navigator 'or' Silent empire ’ This record cannot and will not be able to hide in the underground anymore. Metal Hammer:
