This is it, December 20th is going to be the last Formaldehyde performance ever. Formaldehyde has been a band for over 5 years, we've had various line up changes, have toured across the east coast and mid-atlantic, and performed over 100 live shows.
So, every good thing must come to an end. It was fun while it lasted but it's been less fun as the years went on and that's what being in a band should be all about. It's not about getting famous, getting paid, or getting girls. It's about having fun playing music.
We aren't leaving you empty handed. We're going to be releasing a brand new CD, releasing our first E.P. from 2006 and a third cd that will feature a collection of demos, live songs, and unreleased material. Make sure you're at The Lakeside Arts Center in Honeoye on December 20th for the very end.
We'll miss you all, Formaldehyde

So, Formaldehyde has been done a lot since our last blog. Here's just some quick tid bits.
Mandy has been interviewed by the Rochester Insider, the Insider is a weekly paper put out by the Democrat and Chronicle. The interview will be in the article about the Womens Right To Rock Festival in Seneca Falls that we've performed on for three years running now.
All WNY Radio, based out of Buffalo has a weekly podcast called Metal Inquisition. This particular podcast has been playing the Harvesters. And their most recent podcast selected the Harvesters for the "Balls to the Walls Track of the Week."
We don't know for sure if Zach DeTine will be performing much with us this summer. So temporarily filling in for him will be our session player, Dave Burk. Don't worry, Zach will be back this Fall and maybe for a summer show here or there.
We are currently recording Sex Hitler and re recording Glitter and Baby Doll for our full length. No release date in sight yet.
That's about it, come to some shows, you'll have a killer time.

As of right now we are going through a lot of changes. We have been pushing our new E.P. back for over a year now, we've had many line up changes, and have written plenty of new songs that really show our maturity as a band. Now, we have finally fashioned our sound into something new that we love and will be premiering our new sound and songs this May at All Things Art. We are also going into the studio to records these songs along with a couple old ones throughout the month of March at FLCC. We are very excited to be recording new material at last. We'll be posting one new song, a rough mix, shortly after March 1st. We'll be posting more blogs as the writing and recording continues.

Well, this is the last bit of it!
Jan. 17th - We played a gig in Akron, Ohio which sucked. First gig of the tour that we actually didn't have fun at. We headlined after three noise bands from Seattle, by the time we took the stage, the crowds had left the place. But, we had made friends with the Cleveland band Heads Held High on our last tour. So we stayed with him that night as well as the next.
Jan. 18th - We slept in until about three o clock and then played our next gig at the Phantasy Nite Club in Lakewood, OH (suburb of Cleveland). This venue was THE best of our entire tour. Great sound, awesome people, great bands, and the walls were spray painted with great bands of the past, including Bad Brains. We spent the night again with Elliot of Heads Held High. This night however involved a cat they had come to know as Sex Hitler. I did not catch the story behind the cat's name, but I'm sure it's awesome.
Jan. 19th - Back in NY, FINALLY! We played Club Diablo in Buffalo, played an awesome set and met tons of cool new people. But we ran into some money problems there and left shortly after our set. But we made it home!
Jan. 20th - Our show in Cortland was canceled, but we needed the rest. We chilled out until the 22nd.
Jan. 22nd - We played our last show of the tour in Rochester at our faveorite venue, The Bug Jar. We would like to thank Heavy Metal Steve for having us play there for his Birthday Bash. We had a great time and hung out with some friends. It was a good welcome home.
Well, that's it, two weeks on the road down south and a weekend of rockin' in the north. We made some great friends, among them Courtesy Murder, Dead Souls, The Luchagors, and The Venue of Georgia. The Spazzatorium Galleria, Buck, Bobby, and the Wizard Saloon in North Carolina. Heads Held High, Bright Eyed Riots, This Avenue Dark, and Phantasy Nite Club in Ohio. The Backstage Lounge and Scorned of Florida. My America Is Watching Tigers Die of Deleware and Emerald Moon Records. Ramakins Bar and Grille of Virginia. And From This Moment, Tora Tora Tourette's, Double Eagle Standard, Aegan, and Lady Hellraiser of New York! Sorry if we forgot anyone!

Alright, so a lot has happened in the past few days, let me get to explaining.
Jan. 12th - We made it back to Greenwood, South Carolina to stay with family again before we made our way up to Greenville, North Carolina. It was around here that we noticed our batter light on the van kept coming on. But, we decided to ignore. This turned out to be a bad thing.
Jan. 13th - We journeyed further north to Greenville to play the Spazzatorium Galleria. Upon arriving, all of the lights and gauges in our van dimmed and shut off. We parked the van near the venue, turned it off, then tried to start it again. The van would not start, it was dead. We walked the rest of the way to the venue, got this awesome guy who reminded of us of Mad Max to jump us, then finally made it the rest of the way to unload. After we got to the back doors, the van sputtered and died completely, the lights didn't even turn on. But this didn't ruin our night. We decided we were still going to have fun, and we did. The Spazz ended up being our faveorite show for the tour so far. The owners were so nice and the other bands were amazing. The diversity in music was unbelievable. We played our punk/thrash set, then were followed by noise/experimental band Brava Spectre (Connecticut), then an art rock band, a techno DJ called Benefit Friends (Massachusetts), and then closing the night was My America Is Watching Tigers Die (Emerald Moon Records/Deleware). The crowds were amazing too, there were plenty of people and everyone had a great time. We hung out with these two really cool guys (Buck and Bobby) and Bobby offered us a place to sleep for the night. It ended up being a really cool nigth despite our van breaking down.
Jan. 14th - We woke up early at Bobby's place and he carted us around for half the day to get our van repaired so we could head back to New York. It was also Amanda's 19th B-Day. It was quite a birthday, being stranded in North Carolina. We finally got back on the road and arrived back in good ol' Honeoye, NY at 3 in the morning.
Jan. 15th - Today is Zach's B-Day now, were just taking a short break until we head back out to finish our last five dates of the tour. We'll be driving to Akron, Ohio thursday and play every night until the tour is over.
I'll be posting one last blog after our homecoming show at the Bug Jar next tuesday!

Current mood: tired
So I believe we left off on January 6th? Anyway, here's what we've done.
January 7th - We chilled out in South Carolina, went midnight bowling, and slept.
January 8th - We drove to Florida, our show got cancelled b/c the promoter was an asshole and doesn't know how to do his job right. So we drove to St. Augustine and hung out on the beach.
January 9th - We hung out on the beach, again, we made sand castles. Then we drove to Gainesville and played at The Backstage Lounge. This was definitely one of our best shows of the tour. The venue taped our whole set and put it on a DVD for us, which we will put up online later. The sound and lights were almost too intense. We will definitely be going back again. We then spent the night again in St. Augustine.
January 10th - We had nothing to do really, so we went up to Jacksonville Beach and chilled there for several hours, wandered around the city, and then ate dinner at Taco Bell. Then we decided to get a head start toward Dalton, GA. We got into south eastern Georgia and slept at a truckstop. Zach D and Josh slept outside while myself and Mandy slept in the van.
January 11th - We woke up around 10 am, som old ladies thought Zach D and Josh were homeless and offered them coffee. Then, we journeyed onward towards Dalton. It took us about 7 hours or so. We saw way too many confederate flags and baptist churches. We played at The Venue (that is the name of the club) with some awesome bands: the Dead Souls, Courtesy Murder, The Luchagors, and Embers. All of them put on great shows, we definitely want to come back to the Venue and hang out with all of those bands again. This brings us to now, a shitty motel in Calhoun, Georgia. Until next time.

Current mood: relaxed
Hey everyone, sorry it's taken so long to post our first tour blog. I'll recap everything we've done since our kick off show on the 1st.
Jan. 1st - We played our kick off near our hometown at Josh's studio with some awesome friends. The Hounds of Hell, Drugstore Cowboys, Silent Movie, Death Rattle, and the New York Giants. The show was awesome and the studio wasn't completely trashed when we finished.
Jan. 2nd - This is the day we actually hit the road. We conquered Pennsylvania and found a place to crash in Maryland. We had free breakfast at the motel, which sucked, it consisted of pop tarts, english muffins, and warm orange juice. Total let down.
Jan. 3rd - We journeyed further south to Richmond, Virginia for our first gig out of state. We played at the Ramakins Bar and Grille with Blood Gulch (local) and the Tora Tora Tourettes (Binghamton, NY/Hammerfall Records). There weren't a lot of kids there, but it was still fun nonetheless. We crashed outside of Richmond that day and missed breakfast, totally gay.
Jan. 4th - We traveled down to Hickory, North Carolina for our next gig, but it wasn't going to be on the 4th, it was on the 5th. So we ended up chillin' in some malls, josh danced in Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister, they were playing his jam. We also saw a huge memorial to Dale Earnhart in the middle of the food court, we knew then that we had definitely made it down south. We slept in the van in a Wal-Mart parking lot that night, after spending about an hour in Barnes and Noble. It was not an enjoyable night of sleep, but we survived after watching Evil Dead II on Mandy's lap top.
Jan. 5th. We checked into a motel around noon in Hickory and pretty much slept for five or six hours. Then we had lunch/dinner at an authentic Mexican Restaurant. It was bad ass, all the employee's had mexican and southern accents, very hard to understand. Anyway, we played in an awesome biker bar called the Wizard Saloon. The place was awesome, but the sound system wasn't. The sound guy didn't show up so we ended up running sound for the show, but we made more money for running sound, so it was all cool. We went back to our motel after getting cold cuts and bread. However, we slept in late, again, and missed breakfast, again.
Jan. 6th - We trekked down to South Carolina after eating burgers for breakfast. We made it down to Donalds to stay with some awesome family. We'll be chillin' here until Jan. 8th.
That's all that's happened so far, we've met some crazy people and cool bands. but you'll have to ask us in person for the crazy stuff. We'll have more blogs up in the next 5 or 6 days.
Love Formaldehyde
