The End of the World, and Rebuilding.
Here is the dream that made me want to write them down.
It began in a lush foresty setting with a man held captive by a woman in her late 30's. Though I never saw her house I knew he was in front of some compound residence. She was wearing rich red clothing that looked as though it had a near future presence. I wasn't a character in the dream yet but only watching and relating to the person held captive. He was in his late 20's. I also knew that this lady was supported by a government, and he was held captive because he was considered a threat for being a free thinker. His restraints were very futuristic, but still unseen at the time set in the dream. It was a thick metallic rectangle over the man with wires and a couple lights embedded in it. The force that caused him to be immobile were chemicals released from the metallic rectangle forcing his arms toward the top corners, and his body centered. Since it was a new technology, the captive could escape with ease, but didn't let on. One day his friends met with him at this contraption in the forest and they easily escaped together. They walked very little along a path to get to the road and followed it for a short while until the man previously held captive ingested metal causing a reaction to the chemicals that were now present in his body. This Reaction set off a large explosion ending the lives of most living things on earth. One of the few exceptions were a Native American and a group of kids that had found each other and he taught them in Seoul, Korea.
The Dream skips....
....to me being a very young student in the beginning of my education. A teacher asks if anyone knows who the last survivors of the apocolypse were and where. I raise my little hand and give the reply of the Native American in Seoul, Korea. It's assumed in the reflection of the dream that every remaining person on the world now is the offspring of one of these few remaining people.
The Dream Skips....
....to me being filled with teen angst at the lack of freedom we are given as young adults in our high schools. Our high schools are very clean, including myself and all the students. We are wearing form fittin and well knit stark white school uniforms. The stitching angles outward across the chest from the neck. I am sent out of the classroom and told education is free I have every right to make my decision not to be apart of their society. All other students are very docile. blank. numb. I walk toward the door to leave. The center of the school is big. Everything is made of metal. I walk further through the center toward doors that lead a long hallway to two doors showing the red dust of the outside. Past the large squares of glass, I see a swarm of terrifying large boar like animals that are shoulder-high and flying toward the school. Two men appear and try to hold the doors with no resistance they fly through the doors shredding the metal and glass to pieces and throwing body parts of the two men everywhere. I panic, terrified, and run back behind me toward the auditorium people are already all around me and panicking also. I run to the top of the metal semi-circle bleachers and hide under the highest row of seating.
then I wake up.
