Despite many rumors and a near complete downfall of the scene in Jackson, Solemn Vow is not and has never been breaking up. We are still going strong. We arent playing many shows right now due to school obligations. But have no fear, we are still writing new music and preparing for shows in the future. Right now our main focus is on our new CD that we released this summer. If you dont have it yet I suggest you obtain a copy. You can either contact us directly, buy it in stores, or buy it online. The cheapest place you can get it online is at:
solemnvow.bigcartel.com
You can also get it from iTunes, Amazon, Best Buy, etc.

Until then you can check out some reviews and interviews we have done:

Current mood:  anxious
Hey guys,
We are all proud to announce that Solemn Vow has signed to Wounded Records. Wounded has been home to some GREAT bands, both past and present. These include Bringing Down Broadway, Sonset Down, FBS, The Rose McCoy, Neviah Nevi, The Tug Fork River Band, and many more awesome bands.
Now that we are a part of their family, expect big things to start happening. We have a new CD coming out on June 20th called the American Dream. You will be able to buy it at places like best buy, fye, and amazon as well as both ours and Wounded's online stores (we will be setting this up very soon and will start taking preorders). You will also be able to download it pretty much anywhere like iTunes, Rhapsody, AmazonMp3, etc.
We will also be leaving for a 4 week summer tour on June 21st. Please check our myspace to see if we will be coming near you and please come out and support us. Thanks to everyone who has supported us over these past 5 years. It really means a lot to us.
Please go out and pick up our album when it comes out. If you cannot find it at your local record store then please request that they carry it. If they say that they do not carry it then please send us a message of the name of the store and where it is located so we can get our CD there.
Below is a picture of our new album. It was designed by an incredible artist named Zeb Love. He does absolutely incredible work and is currently working on a new myspace layout for us...so be sure to check back for that.
Thanks so much guys.

Hey guys,
After a very rough Christmas season, Solemn Vow is back in the saddle and ready to rock! To all of you who came out to Katie's last shows in January, thank you for being so supportive. After two months of misery we have all realized that Solemn Vow just isnt Solemn Vow without Katie. Now with all of the hardships behind us, I can proudly announce that Katie will be continuing on with Solemn Vow wherever our journey may take us. We are ALL super stoked about her decision to come back. We are finishing up our full length CD and booking a summer tour right now. We are also looking to play some shows on the weekends before summer if anyone knows of any we can jump on. We are all about to jump out of our skin we are so excited about where things are headed. We just put a new song up today called The Sound of Courage. Pardon the extended intro (which will be chopped into a separate track for the CD) but we thought it fit too well not to included it...(also if you didnt know myspace now lets you skip through tracks so you can fast forward if you would like). We will be putting up new tracks as they are roughly mixed down (keep in mind that none of these are mastered and the CD should sound considerably more professional). Expect a new track at least every two weeks. We also have a killer new myspace layout thanks to Josh Byrd of I Hear the Enemy...make sure you check those guys out! More info will be posted as summer nears as far as when the CD will release and when the tour will be. Make sure you check back! Also before I end this blog Katie wanted to say a few words to all of you guys that supported her throughout the years.

Hey guys :) most of you know, I like to party.
So I cant wait to see you guys at our upcoming shows.(so we can party) Thanks so much, for everything. Bottom line, I like to party. I love playing drums. I like to party. I love our music. I like to party.  But most of all, I love my boys :)

Thanks again for all your support. :)
Katie (likes to party)

Jeff likes to party too............SWEET!

The last four days have been some of the hardest days of all our lives.  Many things have happened and many things have been said and done that hurt us all.  Ultimately, all of us feel like it just isn't Solemn Vow without all five of us.  It feels incomplete not only on a musical level, but on a personal level.  When Jeff and Katie left it felt like we had all lost part of our family.  I believe none of us really knew how much we all meant to each other until we lost everything.  I feel like it isn't best to divulge all the details of the break-up and everything following it, but there is some good news in all of it.  We have all reconciled our differences and Katie and Jeff have rejoined Solemn Vow.  This is not to say that there are not problems, nor is it to say that we won't have problems in the future.  Every band has problems and I feel to say they don't is a lie.  We still all differ on some opinions, but the one thing that we agree on is that we want all of us in it or none of us in it.  We are all very excited about it and feel like this entire scenario will serve to make us stronger and closer in the long run.  Thank you to all of you who have been praying for us and have taken time to stop by and read all about it.  I personally don't think any of us could be any happier right now or any more excited.

In other news, we will still be playing the 2nd and 4th, so please come out and see us.  It will be our last shows for a while due to school starting back, so come see us or you won't be able to for a few months.  Thank you all again.-Kyle

Surgical Abortions in the U.S. (1965 - 2002)
Some 1,878,990 abortions were committed before abortion was decriminalized nationwide by Roe v. Wade in 1973. From 1973 - 2002 more that 42 million abortions occurred.  (Reading: Facts on Induced Abortion in the United States, Guttmacher Institute)

Chemical Abortions in the U.S. (1965-1996)

Because most contraceptive measures are abortifacients (drugs that induce or cause abortions), it is important not to overlook the number of children killed by chemical abortions. Since 1965, an average of 10.8 million women have used abortifacient methods of birth control in the US at any given time. Without throwing the equations at you, about 14 million chemical abortions are committed in the US each year, giving us a total of 450 million chemical abortions between 1965 and 1996.

Total abortion in the US (1965-1996)

If you add up the number of surgical and chemical abortions, over 486 million abortions have been committed in the US from 1965 to 1996! Keep in mind that it is now 1999, three years after the US government and Planned Parenthood stopped tracking the number of abortions committed. If you add on another 1.6 million surgical abortions per year (4.8 million) and another 14 million chemical abortions per year (42 million), the numbers jump to over 530 million babies killed in the US alone

Solemn Vow is proud to endorse rock for life, a Christian organization helping to end abortion in the United States.  You will find us on the list of anti-abortion bands at rockforlife.org.  We will also have some flyers and info at our shows about rock for life and about abortion.  Thanks for all of you guys support, and I hope that we all together will help end this.

For those of you who haven't heard, Michael Barnes was killed in a car wreck Tuesday.  The visitation is tonight from 5 till 8 at Wright and Furgesan funeral home.  THe funeral is tomorrow at Hinds Independent Methodist Church at 3.  Michael was an awesome guy who I had the great privilage of knowing.  He will be greatly missed.  Please be in prayer for his family, they're going through a really tough time right now.-Kyle
