Hello all.

What began as an EP recording adventure has morphed into a LP oddessey. The album will feature some of the best musicians currently breathing in Adelaide and will have a mix of funk, pop, jazz, rock and ambient vibrations of a musical wave nature, no apology offered for the shamelessly overt musical journeys on it!

If music were food, we would offer you a taste of the album as it will be with a track named 'Found'. On this track (as with most on the album), we have liberal sprinklings of Geoff Bradley and Pete Raidel (Goose) on trumpet and sax respectively, the dish finished with Tony Minnieconn's patented vocal awesomesauce. Mmmmmmm, that's good music!

More will posted in due time and the album will be released amidst a huge, huge event in the near future. More to follow. Listen, enjoy, comment, spread the word!

Corey.

Current mood:  excited
Hey there New Translation friends,
After some turbulent times the date is set for us to record our official debut EP/Mini Album. With maestro Matt Hills at the helm we will be taking residence at Hillside Recordings for a couple of days in late April to lay down some fresh beats. We have a few guest's coming along for the ride as well. In the blue corner we have the sensational vocal stylings of Tony Mittacon. While in the red we have the smooth and sensual brass section who perform with the mighty GOOSE. So exciting times. Stay tuned for more updates.
Cheers Shaun and Nt Crew

It is our sad duty to inform you that our vocalist Polly has left the band for personal reasons. We wish her all the best with the future. This void is an opportunity for the right person. We are looking for someone who enjoys jam band music (eg. Satana, King Crimson, Mars Volta), can play a musical instrument proficiently and is committed to the long haul. If this sounds like you please contact us today.
Cheers Shaun

Sorry to all those New Translation fans out there but the Electric Light Hotel gig planned for the 16th October has been cancelled due to a double booking.

Not to worry though the 24th of October provides NT fans with another opportunity to see us strut our stuff at theAdelaide Uni Bar alongside two awesome bands in Colonel Kernal and Doublehanded. Will be a great night so bring your friends and drinking belts.

Cheers
Shaun

Wow.

Obviously, we want to thank the announcers for playing our music. Means a lot, especially when you consider 3D's policy of no playlists.

Chuffed to bits!

Current mood:  thoughtful

Hello all you New Translation fans out there.

I've just started a blog which will cover the adventures of New Translation, what's happening, helpful stuff for other band peoples looking to get gigs and other stuff which I think is relevant. Initially, I'm just posting what I can think of so it'll be pretty heavily band-management related and/or technical but eventually, as I actually have stuff to write about, I'll post what happens at gigs, photos/vids from gigs, rehearsal madness, etc. Whatever comes to mind. I'll try to update it frequently.

Who am I to be throwing my (un)informed opinions around? Good question and I'm still not sure about the answer but hopefully people will read it and find something useful from my and the band's experiences in playing gigs, recording, trying to get gigs, making new music and hopefully touring later on down the track. It's just for fun right now so we'll see how it goes, eh?

It's called "This is not an exit" Hope you enjoy it! And thanks for your support.

Cheers Corey

In roughly two weeks New Translation will be recording and soon after have some new tracks for your listening pleasure. The anticipation and excitement in the group is high as we have been working hard to get the material tight. The recording also marks the debut for the beautiful and talented Polly. Polly recently joined the group and has impressed everyone with her skills and work ethic.

All 5 recordings you can hear on the NT myspace at present are recorded with a laptop and two mics during practice making the quality a bit rough but giving you the general idea. So if you like what you hear now keep your ears peeled and your eyes on the gig guide during the month June as New Translation hit the streets to carve out our new tunes.

Hope to see you out there. Peace to you all.

Hey all.

Just a quick few things about the band what's coming up so pay attention!

- We recently acquired the services of a new singer; the great, the beautiful, the magnificent Ms Polly! She's been voraciously devouring our music and is ready to hit the road so if you come out to a gig, say hi!

- We're recording again; 1st of June. So expect more tracks up on the 'Space. Will have some video of recording up too.

- As alluded to above, we're out and about in gig land. So far, we have a confirmed gig at the Gaslight on the 2nd of August but we hope to have a couple more before then so stay tuned.

- We have a Facebook! Check it out at the following;
