One of the tunes on Nick's debut CD "Miles and Minutes", that we worked on together will be heard in the upcoming episode of "In The Motherhood". The show will air this Thursday, 4/18 at 8pm on ABC. The song, "Good For Something" is one of the mellower selections on the CD and features accordian and mandolin in the arrangement. Nick and I finished the record in 2007.

Ironically, another track that made it on this episode is from Jimmy Frank's "It's Only Right" CD recorded back in the early 90s. Jimmy is a good friend of mine and had me play on the record. He currently runs a great music club in Palm Springs called Club Trinidad.

A song that I co-wrote, "Tell Me Who I Am" is on Sanjaya's EP "Dancing To The Music In My Head" and available exclusively on Amazon.com as a digital download.

Check it out! It's currently available as a free download. And no, I didn't produce it...if you hear it you'll understand why I say that ;)

I've recently joined forces with Mainstream Source (www.Mainstreamsource.com). They are a great new company dedicated to source music for a variety of applications. They have Pro Tools HD facilities in LA and San Diego that I'll be working in to help beef up their already well rounded catalog. I'll be working with my good buddy and talented drummer, Andy Fraga Jr. on some collaborations.

My friend Nick Deonigi, who's debut CD I've had the pleasure of playing on and co-producing, just received a favorable review in Music Connection. His CD "Miles and Minutes" received an overall 7 out of 10.

Here's the review:

Seattle singer/songwriter Deonigi is a confident. assured recording artist whose work sometimes reflects the sombre side of Matchbox 20. We're talking earnest, soul-searching music that might put the boys to sleep — but get the girls in bed — as Deonigi's wounded introspection and his tremulous vocals will appeal to the female listener, especially the confessional "Breakdown." This artist's moody sincerity and fine production value should also play well with music supervisors.

I moved again for the second time in 8 months! It was worth the extra hassle as I now know that the only place to live in LA is by the beach! Playa Del Rey is a great little beach town here in the shadow of LAX. Now during recording projects we can go down to the beach on a break or to unwind. It certainly doesn't feel like you're in the city, but you're just minutes away.

So the other night I do this gig for West Coast Music at the Beverly Hilton. It was put on by ABC and was a fundraiser for breast and prostate cancer. The Band leader was Mike Mennell who plays bass for Tom Jones and is a very cool guy. Dave Karasony was on drums-the last time I had seen Dave was when I met him 7 years ago when he was playing for Pat Benatar and we opened for them on the tour! So it was cool to actually play with him!

I noticed another bandstand on the other side of the ballroom from where we were playing. It turns out Diana Ross is the featured entertainment for the evening! What's even stranger is thats the 2nd time this year I've seen Diana, the 1st was back in the spring at one of the American Idol shows at CBS studios... Wow, maybe I should try out for her band or something!

Just recovering from the Taxi Road Rally at the Westin LAX. I love this type of music conference cause it's not TOO big, just big enough to attract some serious heavies in the music biz. Small enough to hang with new friends that you've met and still find a spot in the bar!

Met some very cool artists, songwriters and producers. Very inspiring! I would recommend joining Taxi if you are a prolific writer and have a lot of songs to pitch or if you are just getting started writing and want some good feedback for your songs.

Other than a bitchin' drive, the big move from Seattle to LA went rather well. It's always a good idea to plan for a little extra time when you're driving a 22' rig and towing your car behind.

My friend Jim followed behind me in my pickup and we happened to leave the day of the windstorm (perfect). If it wasn't windy it was rainy and dark, which makes it fun to try and pass semis up a hill! Anyway, everything was better once we got to sunny So Cal (it feels like an endless summer) and left the crappy weather behind.

My house in the Glendale/Eagle Rock area is working out great (believe it or not, I'm still watering the lawn for those of you in Seattle) and I'm still getting settled and getting to know the area. I'm meeting and hanging with some great people and the gigs have been a lot of fun. I'm definitely looking forward to meeting and working with more wonderful musicians here, as well as checking out the various studios in the area!
