Oi! ...the one word that could reasonably sum up my night.
So, I was invited to a show in Orlando. Me,
Jen,
Heather, and
Justin (the latter two composing one half of the PSL Punk band
Offensive Actions) were off early in the afternoon for GBH (they were big in the eighties) at the Social, a tiny little venue in the heart of downtown Orlando.
The night essentially went without flaw. The music was good, as was the company. I will say, that Justin and Heather love to brawl with eachother over pretty much nothing and everything, as far as I could see. We got in around three, and I can reasonably count this as my first "club" experience, in a trashy little hole-in-the-wall joint. Interesting to say the least.
But for my point! ...punks are my kinda folks. Jen I have known for forever, and we're still best friends tried and true. Heather and Justin are swell kids, fun to be around. And all this surprises even myself. As much as I am certainly not into the brawling and oi-ing (traditional punk rock hooliganry), I find that I get along with that subculture oddly well. This makes me happe'.
I do say, a new ground for hippie-punk relations has been reached!
